The thing I worry about with Giddey (and get the impression most others including you do as well) is how his game translates when he plays against good defenses. I think he's the type of player who beats up on bad competition. One example is when he drives and prods the defense. It's great that he does it, but I think the passing lanes open up because the defense overhelps, not that they're being forced to help. And in a deep playoff series, I think teams will realize this and not overhelp. Another is his off ball passing. It's great, but it moreso comes from the defense falling asleep and Giddey taking advantage of the opportunity rather than Giddey creating the opportunity, and I think that against good defenses in the playoffs you don't get as many of those situations where the defense falls asleep. Another is the way he creates. As you talked about in the video, he doesn't really have a that bend or a shifty handle with counters. He kinda just goes through people. Which won't work against good defenders.
