Holy moly - here we go! This was me (Texan, 54 y.o., wife/mom of 3) seeing/hearing BTS by accident on YT four years ago. My song was 'MIC Drop' and I was instantly hooked despite never listening to pop or hip-hop/rap (I am a lifelong alternative rock fan)....I also did a deep dive and never looked back, I'm in BTS/ARMY for life.... Same😆. I always watched this music critic because I respected the way he reviewed music. So when I saw he reacted to bts? I was skeptical I’ll admit because I never heard a proper kpop song let alone one from the biggest group out there. And it was the first time he was watching them too. There's that one picture of BTS where they were sitting in a living room and all of them were sitting one couch glued to each other, like they can't go a day without feeling each other's presence one it's so cute. They've lived together for like a decade and now have their own homes, they've went through a lot together as well (from the underdogs to the biggest), so it makes sense. Also there was a time where one of the members had to be absent due to surgery for his crushed shoulder (accident from 10 years ago, that he didn't fix and hurted him for years and years), and they were going around everywhere in interviews, award shows, lives with a picture of him cuz they wanted him to feel included, they'd call him with their personal phones to deliver speeches from home when they win awards, can't go a day without mentioning him.

cool reaction! i wouldn’t recommend trying to differentiate bts by their hair or anything, since they change that ALL the time haha. i would recommend watching a bts introduction video to learn more about them as a group and as individuals! they cant be easily categorized, there are many styles of music they've delved into. may the subtitles always be turned on for every reaction video! i look forward to more videos! songs i recommend for bts: [ spring day ] emotional song, one of my faves. it [ blood sweat and tears ] incredible visuals and part of the bts storyline [ dna ] more of a fun video to enjoy, you'll die at the visuals lol [ black swan ] the artistry and dance is awesome, it's about the fear of losing your passion for something you love then again, just watch whatever you feel like watching! i'm sure you'll enjoy it :)

If you listen to mainly Afro beats BTS actually have a song that meshes Afro beats and traditional Korean instruments and features the gwara gwara. It’s called idol and there are 2 versions one has Nicki Minaj as a feature Also they can sing, yes you will hear songs that have auto tune but they use it in an artistic sense. They definitely don’t need help fixing their voice. Jungkook who you were talking about during the bridge, Dude can siiiing, he’s the main vocalist. BTS has 3 rappers and 4 Vocalists. I’m sure ARMYs will be going wild in the comments so I will just leave it at that, but I wanted to recommend Idol based on ur music preference 🎉

Found you from TikTok. Loved your reaction. I would definitely tune in if you reacted to more kpop and especially more BTS. Watching reactors fall in love with bts is one of my favorite things! They are so amazing and talented. I’m sure so many ARMY will fill you in but you definitely want to put on subtitles. All bts MVs have them. It’s pretty common to use a mix of English and Korean in their songs so subtitles will help you understand. And a lot of their stuff is pretty deep. You can also find a lot of content on KZbin that will tell you about BTSs story and about the different members. And those vocals that you commented on were for sure him. They do occasionally use auto tune, but mostly they use it as an audio effect, Like a distortion peddle to a guitar. Anyway I hope you keep enjoying kpop stuff. 💕

Cool reaction! Most K pop videos have English Subtitles if you turn on the closed captions, and and many groups including BTS are famous for their meaningful lyrics that once you read them, even if you are listening to that song in the car later, you still remember what the song is about and think about the meaning even if you don’t understand all of the individual words. You picked a good song to get to know BTS with. A lot of people start with their English songs which are more fluffy and we’re not written by the band members themselves, like most of their Korean songs are.

If you want to do the deep dive into BTS there is an introduction video by Taylor. It’s a little long, but BTS fans will tune in by the hundreds to watch people react to it. Mostly because after seeing it most people finally get what BTS is about. BTS Does about half a dozen genres of music. You might like Black Swan or Fire, or Mic Drop better. If you like Black Pink, another boy group you might like is Stray Kids. They have a similar energy. Try God’s Menu or Maniac. 😌

So fun to watch! You can tell you are genuinely surprised! I love that! Many times you can tell somebody to do reaction video about Kpop just for the views. I'm Finnish ARMY myself and before I listen mostly rap and 50-60's music. Then I stumble upon BTS. They got me thinking about my life, they make me better person. First it was just music, I loved choreographies etc. Then I watch few documentaries about them and that was it. How good exemple they are! How deep they love music and each other! But I must say I really love kpop all together. I listen many other groups too and I know stories about them too now. There is many, so so many good groups and magnificent music! I must still say, BTS is one of a kind and their story is something you can't fake. There is a reason they are who they are nowadays. (Before somebody attacks: I know before them there was groups. Good and famous ones too! And I love how BTS always brings that up too.) And no, it's not autotune, it's Jungkook. And yes, I know that even BTS uses autotune, but we'll, you can always see them live performances is there need for autotune.

I know in some past concerts and productions they've included almost every language on the big screen including multiple african languages which i didnt even know until i was watching multiple reactions at the time and the African reactors kept pointing out their languages. BTS is AMAZING lol. I just laugh because of how good they are both as artists and human beings, it's crazy. First, I fell for their music and artistry. I fell in love with Jungkook's voice. Their songs are BOPS. And they are super talented in songwriting and producing department. Namjoon's pen is INSANE! The rap line is the best in the industry. Their singers are so versatile, diverse, and unique. Their personalities too😭 They're such good and funny people. Their relationship with each other is so healthy as well. They really GOT MEEE. As a huge fan of bts, I love the honesty with which they make their music, the themes they cover. It's refreshing and connects with all. One of my favourite aspects of their musicis that, save their first few albums, the topics covered are not heavily gendered and aren't really from a stereotypical "male" perspective. They deal with the many facets of being a young person and the trials and tribulations that come with it. They are interested in the persona, there are multiple inspirations from Jungian Psychology, Greek mythology, Korean artists and poets, and of course their own struggles with mental health and fame. Their performances also add additional layers to these. There is so much growth personally and artistically that has been really well documented - from conversations held on lives with their fans over the years, to how those thoughts have come to be represented in their music - both group and solo projects. (Say, for example, the decision for the leader to change his name from Rap monster to rm.) As a fan, it's just a really satisfying journey and arc to watch and be proud of the people they have become. And I don't want to compare really but I don't reall find this in other kpop groups or even other artists. It's really rare. But keep checking out other music and see for yourself. There's obviously a lot more and I hope you'll do your research :), Keep up the great work!
