Here's a tip.... if you want to find a good Lovebites song then simply write down the nearly fifty songs in their repertoire on a piece of paper, close your eyes and stick a pin in it. I guarantee that the song nearest to the pin prick will be another banger. They don't have a bad song. The consistency with which this band has produced brilliant, epic music since its inception four years ago is staggering and makes this one of the most exciting metal bands on the planet right now. Eve is quite right regarding the feminine force of this band. They are powerful women. through and through.... not some wannabe male imitators. The elegant white dresses and high heels are their trademark as a juxtaposition to the usual tatty black leathers of metal culture. They have not only embraced their femininity, they have weaponised it. Incredibly, considering their towering presence onstage, they are all tiny little women. The tallest girl in the band comes in at just 5' 2", the singer is a petite 4' 10" and the drummer scrapes in at 4' 9". The sheer force of their energy, however, would put any band of grizzled, burly men to shame. The band has adopted the wolf as their animist symbol and, in Japan, they are known as the "Wolves in White" or the "White Wolves". The fan base calls itself the "Wolf Pack". This band is something very special and I envy you for having just discovered them.

I agree the lyrics are, not to me, but the MV may be tied to Jesus. A band member did say that they wondered what it would be like if Jesus was reincarnated in today's world, as a MV concept. That is of course only one of the bandmembers that I have seen say that on KZbin. Just to be clear my belief is that people can be free to believe what they want about lyrics MVs or any art. Most people take in amazing art in their own way so I believe it is important to say how you feel and avoid being objective about a somewhat subjective topic. BTW in America elderly Asian women are being violently attacked on the sidewalks; mostly by people of color. I witness verbal harassment against Asians often in public. That ends when I make myself visible and display anti racist body language and frowns of disgust. Just yeserday a large/tall/young latino man went back and apologized to the small very pregnant Asian woman that he had been harassing, once he saw me striding towards him. Love&Peace.

I like to think that long before that songbirds were impressing humans. Woodpeckers on solid and sometimes hollow trees made cool sounds. The other types of birds making many kinds of cool sounds. many animals make a wide variety of cool sounds. The wind and water also make music. Earth Wind and Fire gives us an example of music. Many top musicians listen to Earth Sounds as music and draw inspirations and beats from nature.

You could have asked a bunch of comic-book artists to design a band of alien superheroes, disguised as beautiful women who use music to battle darkness, and they could not have come up with this. Other reviewers have described them as angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Some background: They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" pocket nuke), and they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music, but Midori has also been getting into the act, and Asami writes a lot of the lyrics. They have only been around for a little over 4 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and it seems clear they’re taking it to another level. They do everything from soulful power ballads to white-hot insane thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two shredders are very different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The interplay makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist-she only picked up guitar when she was 18. YES--see them live, they are amazing! I called the Orlando Bloom guy Hipster Jesus when I first watched it, but there's been a lot of debate as to whether he's supposed to be some sort of second coming of Jesus, or if he's just some depressed guy who experiences stigmata wounds and then sees the light and the church and blah blah blah, which kind of made more sense to me, but I guess the less sensible version is the correct one.
