I love them both . they got a some prize from a magazine once for best kiss in a movie . You might remember it , it was a scene in a cemetary they kissed while the rain drenched them both . no woman ever looked better as she was soaking wet and staring into his eyes ... It was the Quiet man in Scottland . She is what I would call a true " Time travel " worthy lady . In the future when time machines become possible The trips most asked for wil not be the historical wars , but the most historical pretty ladies of the past . I put her in the top of that list , 2nd is Raquel welch , you may choose the caveman movie or 100 rifles , both were amazing . Third place i give Audrey Hepburn - Breakfast a Tiffany's . but who else ? Need 2 more for a Top 5 list ....

She did THE QUIET MAN already. I suggested DONOVAN'S REEF (1963) - Patrick has a bit part in that, and it has great scenery being shot on Kauai. It's a South Seas Christmas rom/com. And let's not forget HATARI! (1962) - his other movie with an exclamation mark in the title - shot on location in the old Tanganyika, East Africa, and he did most all his own stunts with those wild animals.

Dawn Marie, you were correct in your assessment of Yvonne DeCarlo as the most beautiful woman you have ever seen. She was named the Most Beautiful Woman in a contest in the 50's, and she maintained her beauty for many years to come. And she even kept her beauty with green make-up in her TV role as Lily Munster on the show "The Munsters", in the mid-60's. "McLintock" was a favorite on TV during the 60's and 70's, so happy you gave it a "Best Movie Ever" rating.

One John Wayne comedy we missed out on, Mel Brooks reportedly tried to recruit him to play the Waco Kid in Blazing Saddles. Brooks' initial idea was that Sheriff Bart would be teamed up with a real cowboy icon. The story goes that John Wayne loved the script and even said he'd be first in line to see it, but felt it wouldn't be right for his image. Gene Wilder got the part after campaigning for it, and of course he changed the dynamic somewhat. Wayne did make some other comedies. The one that comes to mind first is North to Alaska, with Ernie Kovacs. It's a romantic mix-up and gold mining.
