@Goldenboy484 жыл бұрын
Oh btw..I'm an mj fan too and in my humble opinion,this is the bad tour version of heartbreak hotel you should've compared. He lit the stage on fire in this clip..kzbin.info/www/bejne/mWS0pGdnlqqHhZY As you've noted in some of the later shows on tour,the workload put a lot of stress on Michaels vocals as you'd be able to see in your video where he's kind of reserving himself in certain parts of the song. The Japan version being one of the first shows really shows MJ in full force vocally along with the dance.. He's even got the dip for your favorite dance😏. Anyway that's just my 2 cents... More power to you..MJ4lyfe

I think in the Victory Tour, Mike was more intense, wild, energetic & sporadic. His voice was higher & articulation was more, clearer. The Bad tour his moves are more controlled, mastered, dominating, & his voice a little more deeper, muddled. That spin @ 6:37. Yeah, & Tito is a very Great, underrated guitarist. I've heard him play a solo live, & he's amazing. Mjfangirl, M.J.'s 2 performances were Super-Mega-Intense!!!💥🔥 Anybody, got a cigarette?🚬😀😆😂

@@MJFANGIRLTV It seems after the victory tour. Once the Bad album was dropped his voice did change. It seems to have gotten deeper. Speaking voice and singing A song of his that I had mistaken for being recorded. In the early years. Even though it was recorded before he died was a song called Best of Joy on the Michael album. His vocals sounded like they used to sound. During the Thriller Victory era.

There is a "Heartbreak Hotel" performance from 1987 live in Japan you have to see. Well you probably already seen it lol, but that's my favorite performance of that song! His energy was just crazy from beginning to end! I love both the '84 and '88 performances though; but the Victory Tour footage in particular with the major fan reaction during "Heartbreak Hotel" gives me so much nostalgia. It makes me want to invent a time machine to checkout that tour and experience the energy of Thriller/MJ Mania
@kohlbybeaven35754 жыл бұрын
If I had to choose one, I'd probably have to go with the Bad tour performance of "This Place Hotel". He had so much energy and incorporated his own style of dance into it, while still keeping one move he used when he was part of the Jacksons

@ernestrobinson84414 жыл бұрын
Cool!! That comparison was neat! Even though "This Place Hotel" was on the Jackson's Triumph album, I'd consider it more of a Michael Jackson song than a Jacksons song. The reason why is because Michael composed the song by himself and his brothers don't do the background vocals on the album version. Michael did all the backing vocals like he would on a solo album.
@MJFANGIRLTV4 жыл бұрын
wow! i didn't realize that about the background vocals but you're so right- it also feels like an MJ song to me too
@PamelaDFrank4 жыл бұрын
First of all: I LOVE this song!!!! Michael is SOOOO doggone cute!!! Let me digress & focus: I agree that the kind of speed/tempo of this version is a bit faster, and you don't get the same 'breaks', if I had to choose I probably pick the Bad performance, mostly because I love the call & response (at the end) in that performance - but of course, they're both beyond awesome! The interaction between the brothers on the Victory performance is iconic - and precious. Great video, as always, thanks so much!
