Hikikomori is a Japanese word for someone that doesn’t leave home, ever, like a shut in. I think that’s where he draws a lot of his inspiration. You should check out his song 4AM. I don’t know if you heard about their situation with TS and their lawsuit but he expresses a lot of his feelings about the time in that song.

Ever since the debuted of B.A.P they have always talked about the bad and ugly sides of humanity. Such as war, poverty, mental illness, suicide and so much more. Yongguk use to write most of the lyrics for B.A.P and he talks about mental health alot becuase he himself has a mental illness. Yongguk has panic disorder and went on hiatus becuase of it during Skydive era. I remember going to the concert in Dallas back in August of 2017 and they had these at every USA stop as a fan project. As B.A.P group color is green and so is the ribbion for mental health we all wore green ribbons to tell Yongguk that we would always stand by his side becuase he knows just as much as anyone who knows what it's like to live with a mental illness, myself included. Thank you for reacting to this! I have so much respect for Yongguk to be writing songs about mental health. He laid it all out with Hikikomori (basically a term used to describe a recluse). Especially coming from a culture that doesn't speak and doesn't acknowledge mental health (it's considered "taboo"). Not sure if you've reacted to Wake Me Up. Yongguk wrote that song too, I thought that one was dark but Hikikomori topped it.

I remember him saying in an interview that this song was from his own experience with loneliness and confusion and an expression of how he saw himself. He mentioned it was related to his fear of people and the outside world and how confining himself to a room can seem like protection from that but also like imprisonment. But yeah, as someone with anxiety, this song/video was such a powerful representation of how it feels. I still get chills watching/listening to it, but that's also just the power of BYG.

Just want you to know, his first scene where he took off the eye blindfold and left the imaginary crowds is reflecting on how he left TS Ent. and left the life of being an idol and try to live on his own (he decides himself that he's a music producer now, not an idol). Here is a tiny bit of translator kind of, even though I dont know what this song it truly about. Hikikormori is a psychological condition, in which people that have it shut them selves out of society and stay in their houses. When Yongguk was a member of B.A.P he had taken about a year off because I am pretty sure he was suffering from depression, or legal issues, but please correct me if I am wrong. So I am pretty sure that this song is based off of that time period of his life.

I just wanted to say that I genuinely respect you and love your reactions so much. Im not going to name any names but 95% of people who do reactions on youtube annoy me so bad because they are so fake and only react to popular kpop groups because they just want views. Actually , Yongguk said that and admitted that he was depressed ever since joining ts entertainment and b.a.p. And he said hes gotten worse ever since. He was diagnosed with a panic disorder called Agoraphobia, and the team and company knew about it but didn't help him. In one of his Instagram lives he said " I dont go outside much , it's too dangerous" . This is one of the reason he left ts entertainment and b.a.p. . He said the only reason he didn't bother with it and allow it to get worse and to take over him was because of him being the leader and for the fans , so please support him and wish him luck in his journey 🤩🤗😍😘😎😂😋☺😚😊✔✅

Honestly I hope you checked the lyrics, what Yongguk writes is really relatable way too often for a lot of people unfortunately.
