I was asked to do an evil laugh but I was too nervous so I literally just refused. Ugh.

Out of 20 auditions, there have definitely been some doozies... Audition 1 (age 12, completely new to everything theater): I had a stomach virus the day before. 7: That morning, I got off a cruise ship and rushed home through the entire state of Washington. Not one of my best audition choices or performances, but I was just glad we made it with time to spare. 8: I forgot a word in the first line and gibberished my way through it. I spent the rest of the audition mentally running through the lyrics for each line a split second before singing it. Still haunts me to this day. 10: The day before I *completely* lost my voice, couldn't even sing up to middle C. I recovered about an octave overnight but it wasn't enough for my audition cut, so I picked a lower cut from the same song. Somehow no one knew I lost my voice until afterward, but I was...panicked, to say the least. 18: Cracked on the high note. And it was Phantom of the Opera, so...high. And of course, numerous song choices that make me look back and think, "...Why?!"

Poor me. When I want to get my chances to be promising in the project of my dorm in highschool lol, so I took two audition, first one as MC, and then the second one is theater play. The first one going well and get chosen, but I still go on because I want to see what'll happen to me, then it turn to be embarrassment :( we had to do partner randomly by the auditioner, then when they call to do the audition about that we need to act as promising as possible, then when I act like dRaMAtiC, my partner turned to be like loony and making jokes and keep laughing, which caused the audience stared confused and like 'ew' :( We both don't get chosen :') turned out the partner went out from the dorm, then I end up being the MC for the show... But still.. I have strong memory for embarrassing momentum hahaha..

what’s the difference between head and chest voice?

Chest voice is like your normal speaking voice, kinda on the lower end of things. You can sometimes feel it resonating one your chest. Head voice is higher and resonates differently in your head

AH DUDE I LOVE GUYS AND DOLLS. It was my first and last major theater performance in high school. I was Abernathy, so doing More I Cannot Wish You was very significant for me. :)

In terms of auditions, I had one more role after this, in the play Plaza Suite. I had never done a non-musical audition -and I know I’m a terrible actor and a better singer- so I was nervous and auditioned with a piece of this book called The Sisters Grimm for the role of the hot-headed wife (I forgot her name in the play tho). I felt really cringey, and still feel like that about it. Obviously, I didn’t get the part, I was the bellhop instead. 🙃 I only had like a 2 min scene at the beginning tho and you never saw me the rest of the time. Thus, Guys and Dolls was my first and last major theater performance. 😅

Haha I auditioned right after having a breakdown and crying for like an hour. So that’s great especially when you’re singing a song Kristen Chenoweth sang. Anyways that was my worst one but I’ve hopefully improved since then :)
