That part about giving the prize packs to other kids to recreate that feeling is the wholesome I needed this morning. I just picked up yoyo as am adult and my dad saw me messing with one and he immediately lit up. Mind you my dad is a rough and tumble automechanic who doesn't smile much lol. It was lime watching a kid pickup his favorite toy after 30 years. That's when I knew I found my calling

Awesome video, Brandon! Interesting to watch some storytelling here. I started yoyoing when I was 10 (2003), during the Super Yoyo boom. But I stopped shortly after. Bcs no friends to play with. Then 2016, when I found my old yoyo while cleaning my room, I immediately looked up yoyo video. And the first video abt yoyo that I found on youtube, was "the god of yoyo" Hiroyuki Suzuki. Man... That's the point where I thought to myself, "I going to start yoyoing again".

Man, i had a similar story starting out. There was a yoyo boom in Indo back in 2005, play for a bit, got bored because i was playing based on a trick list (it was super yoyo). Once i was old enough to browsed KZbin in 2007 (under supervision), I saw the 2005 JN 1A freestyle, and that video changed how i view yoyos. Then i did some digging, turns out we also did have group of yoyoers in Indo, the meetups were organised via mailing list LOL.

I started yoyoing when I was 9 that days I don't know any trick but after 1 week I learnt 4 basic tricks and I was bored with this 4 tricks Then after 3 years when I was 12 and one kid ask me how to use this yoyo It was an butterfly shaped responsive yoyo after that found my old yoyo it was rusty but the bearing was still fine and after that I bought an another 2 yoyos but when I was 11 I loved Rubik cube like you . After when I found my yoyo search new tricks in youtube the first video saw was Angelo's urban cradles after that I saw your channel and I am still learning

There was carnival in the village I lived. It was called 'Saptaah'. Every year, kids from that village sold toys or food in various stalls. And people came to buy it. Me and my brother also took part in it always. My first memory of yoyos is that I selled wooden spintops and toy yoyos there. Just two spintops were sold. I had those yoyos so many years. I now even have one of it. I was like 7-8 years old that time. 2 years ago, when I was 14, I saw tv reality show, there was a guy who bought storage and there was crate of yoyos. To sell them, he called a yoyo player. That player just showed him 'Rock the Baby'. And I was like whoooooaaaaaaaa! Then I bought toy looping yoyo, did some tricks, toy butterfly yoyo, then professional beginner yoyo.

I was pretty much the same as you, except i got started because I was on crutches for a year so i went and bought a yomega fireball, learned all the tricks in the book that came with it, then found Andre's videos learned what i could and bought a protostar.. met you and Vu and everyone else at ANYC that was also your first time. I wasn't good enough to enter the 1a contest but I did the sports ladder which ended up being just myself and cookie and he either threw to let me win or genuinely messed up on a really early trick so I took home the win lol, was a good time but stopped yoyoing shortly after that not sure why think i just moved on to a new hobby.
