My husband has a gorgeous turquoise conure named Gwydion, about four years old and looks very much like your Pumpkin. He's bonded strongly to my husband, so I've been talking to a breeder about getting a pineapple baby for myself. Thanks to your videos, I'm more prepared for my own baby, and have a good cage set up for her with lots of shreddable toys which I've removed any bells from, many wood perches and a natural rope perch, and stainless steel bowls. I've also ordered a small scale to keep an eye on her weight and am going to be making chop using a recipe quite similar to yours. Thanks for all your videos. It's making me a little less nervous about the whole process of becoming a dad to my own bird child.

6:43 that bird looks exactly like my bird! #pineappleturquoiseGCC I missed out on sending a pucture of my cage but i have the A&E cage in color black(there was one shown in white in this video 2:55) my little birdie has 9 perches that are all natural wood, 6 natural shredding toys and a few foot toys, 2 ladders, and a platform perch that he likes to sleep on. He eats Harrison’s Adult Lifetime Fine pellets and a variety of vegetables. All served in stainless steel bowls(to less bacteria build up) i hope you see my comment and that im doing things right! I had researched for about a year before getting my bird and then saved up to buy everything he needed and have it all ready before he came home! I have reseched for over like 2 years now, before i only reserched 2 months and so i went to go see if there is any birds for me to get with the smallest and cheapest cage possible 😭 *(and if you didnt know, thats not good)* thankfully there was no birds for sale in any of the pet stores near me 😅 i would have gotten a budgerigar, now i like cockatiels, they are probably the best i can get, i am planning on getting the 32 by 21 inch flight cage on a&e cage website *(the same cage pearl has from ellenandthebirds)* and elles avians essentials kits in the cage, i dont have a bird yet, my parents said if i do good on my grades and my detention rate slows down, they will get the bird stuffs on my birthday and eventually get a bird when i am and they are ready

I have a question. How does one go about removing the bowls and placing them higher up in the cage? Obviously, the cage is manufactured to have the bowls at the bottom or whatever. I want to be able to have them at the top so there's more space for toys and perches (without having to worry about stuff falling into his dishes), but idk how?? Sorry if it sounds stupid. But rn they're little doors you can sort of unlock and swing open to remove the bowl from the little holder. I wouldn't know how to recreate that at all, haha

bird chop (she has a video on how to make bird chop) don't give them bird seeds bought from the store it can cause obesity (there's a few other unhealthy things it can do) pellets she has some bird pellets you can buy on her amazon page. don't feed them fruit frequently since it's high in sugar it is more of a treat for your bird seeds are also like a treat but don't feed them apple seeds. overall I recommend giving your bird chop vegetables and pellets (hope this helped)

I’m researching male vs female cockatiels for my family and being affectionate is the most important feature for us. However I worry about egg laying issues and health problems with the females. Have you had any hormonal issues yet by chance with your bird? If it’s a female, Does she get along with everyone or just one? Nippy and aggressive ever? I’m tempted to go for a male to avoid egg issues but i do hear that females can be cuddly and more friendly for the whole family?

as a person with multiple birds, i do recommend getting a flight cage and having someone change the water and feed it every morning. also get that person to take the bird out of the cage in the morning when feeding it, then put it back, and also having the person cover the cage at night. make sure to have a radio/tv playing in the room that the bird is in whenever you are gone, it helps keep the bird company. make sure that the bird has plenty of toys :) (though, if you can get someone to take care of the bird 24/7 while you're gone, that is the best option!!)
