No one can replace Zayn’s voice but the lads did amazing covering his parts. I think there are moments they sound exactly like him. I knew Liam would get those high notes no problem, he was amazing but I think Niall impressed me most. And of course Louis in Don’t forget where you belong… ♥️

Agree! I love Harry and Niall covering his parts, especially in No Control and Ready to run!!! I started listening to them after he left so I am use to seeing the other guys sing his parts. When I listen to them on record besides the really high notes he sounded a lot like Harry and really didn't stand out whole lot.

Liam impressed me the most, I knew he could hit those high notes, but the individual identity he brought to those notes are incredible. Liam’s a lyric baritone so the fact he was picked to cover Zayn’s highest notes instead of the tenors in the band was inspired. Liam’s a vocal king.

When Zayn left in the middle of the OTRA tour, most directioners must have thought that all was lost. But the guys worked it out. None of their performances suffered. Vocal coaches realised Liam actually has the widest vocal range amongst the guys and can cover any of their parts, including Zayn’s. I think it’s great that he doesn’t sound like Zayn when he does these solos. He wasn’t singing these solos to replace Zayn, he was singing those solos because the guys chose to honour their tour commitments and Liam had the range to do the high notes. He really doesn’t get nearly enough credit for his vocal talents.

I feel like Liam has so much vocal intimacy in any harmonies he sings with the guys. But I can’t really get over Zayn and Liam harmonies, especially in ‘little things’ and ‘summer love’. You have to watch their live performances of these because It’s orchestral.

All the guys are irreplaceable. They smashed it to be honest. Liam did a majority of Zayn’s solos (about 25 I think), especially the highest range solos.

@@808sfinest6 I’m the opposite 😊, LP1 is my favourite album from the guys. Liam is my favourite, although I love the other guys too. I really didn’t see Liam as underrated in the slightest, until I joined the directioner fandom. But looking at the differences between one direction songs and LP1, it was a bit much for him to expect a fandom that’s into ‘fire proof’, ‘night changes’, ‘little things’ to jump to ‘strip that down’, ‘get low’, ‘stack it up’. He didn’t play it safe and in that respect there’s nothing to be sad about.

Liam has the widest range, as in he can go as high as Zayn and lower than all of them. I looked into some vocal analysis which stated that both Liam and Zayn are A rated vocalists. Although, I prefer Liam’s voice. Zayn is incredible at high notes (riffs and runs), so when he left mid OTRA tour they must have had a few nightmares over who would sing his highest notes. But Liam’s stepped in and honestly he was impressive, especially with the ‘you and I’ as well as BSE high notes. He puts his own spin on the high notes, plus the high note variations he uses are genius. He’s a lyric baritone, so he was never going to use his chest voice in any part of the high notes. So there’s a great deal of falsetto in the head voice high note variations he uses, but there’s a softness to his high notes that are so beautiful and breathtaking.

Honestly there is only one clip where the sound similar to zayn to me and that clip is when niall sings zayn’s part in strong... idk, I think I’m not the only one but we can easily tell their voices apart, otherwise zayn will never be replaced but they did an incredible job, they made it their part nit them replacing zayn and I honestly love the ones zayn sings and the boys sing equally...

Proud of dem boys. It was a mad scramble after zee left and though, it stretched them thin, they made it work. Going ahead with a sold out world tour schedule was a no brainer. As the boys had said, it brought the four of them closer together.....the band is bigger than just one person. Yep. The Gods were smiling. The nefarious stayed in their entitled basement. Shame.

Niall and Liam’s vocal range were close to Zayn so with that they gave them more parts then Lou and Harry Harry’s range is not wide enough to hit all his high notes like Liam can for example, he often was out of breath when he goes higher and higher or his voice cracks that’s why he often has throat infections for straining so much. Well Louis needs more confident and more training because honestly with that voice he can do more than what he does. If he works his voice more he can hit high notes since he has a high pitch voice

Have you learn how to tune your ukulele? Learn strings name? Memorised the basic beginner code, C, G, F, Am? And if you want to sing while playing, you should sing with down strum first. If you think you getting better, you can add strumming pattern. The easiest song to play on ukulele especially for beginners is I'm Yours by Jason Mraz. The chord progression is C, G, Am, F. Trust me you can do this!!! Remember try down strum first. 💪🏻

That drak side was full of myths that are already debunked by the boys themselves, mainly Niall. Also, a lot of stuff about controlling referred to the beginning of their career. They definitely didn't have that much control over them last couple of years. It's just the internet and 1D fandom is the best myths incubator. At least it's something I had to find out being a new fan who's not bad at digging and analyzing stuff and who doesn't have those pre-requisites that older fans have about them. I just interpret info objectively and I doubt everything I get that's how I know many of "dark side" points are false. Those that are true or even partly true are still pretty bad tho, but they weren't as mistreated as other boybands in the past, and Niall, Harry and Louis were definitely happy to be in that band. This is my main point.

I think Liam had a great time too. His highs were really high and his lows really low. But he’s grateful for the band, because he’s said so himself over and over again. He said so much in his 1hour 40 minute Steven Bartlett podcast, but the fandom just focused on the sad parts, which is unfortunate.

@@LB-ih7hn Yes, I agree with that. I also was too upset to hear he suffered from some issues at times to understand those were periods not the whole band's duration. This drama invention thing is contageous :) But I'm sure they have much more cool moments than sad ones and I don't entirely believe in those "controlling management" / "infernal contract obligations" stuff too. I'm more likely to believe people who hint at that use the boys as a clickbait once again for their own benefits. None of them said anything about that, even though all of them spoke about some of the struggles. If those were so bad it made more sense to bring up serious issues like so many artists do. But they don't do it, they don't sue, thy're nothing but complimentary of their previous crew. I might be mistaken, tho, but at some point it will all be said by someone if there is anything to be said)) For now I'm just too excited about new song that Liam was teasing on sm and some of the stuff he said about his plans on that podcast are too exciting :) Overall one of the best talks any of 1D ever had in last 10 years, I've literally watched it 3 times just for pleasure. It's like reading a good book :)

I find that in some of clips comparison when zayn sings the volume is less and when boys sing it's higher! Don't know whether it's done purposefully! Boys did their best in their own way, without the silky touch of Zayn's voice! And also ever since he left it's like OT4 vs Zayn! How did it come to this?? He even tweeted "proud of my boys single" after he left but none of the boys responded to it! Agreed. There’s just something special in OT4 performances and their studio recordings. I think it’s an overall unity or synergy. Even though they may be singing in different ranges, the overall sound is just so pleasing. And I can’t get over how brilliant ‘what a feeling’ is, they really snapped on that one.
