You not letting your man go out with the boyz is giving "insecure" and "flat chested energy". Do you see how stupid that sounds if men started saying the dumb sh!t that women say all the time? Women throw around "insecure" and "small dick" energy when they feel like they're controlled and call it "toxic" but men cant say the same things back at women because we'll be called "misogynistic" women want equality only when it benefits them, see ya can't take it but ya can dish it out. NO thats not equality! So which is it? Ya want equality or chivalry? Ya can't have ya cake and eat it too.

I agree with Jason and I’m a woman and I’ve had 3 kids. I never expected my husband to abstain from sushi or drinking whether in front of me or not. For me, I myself, am a drinking enthusiast and sushi lover so why make 2 people suffer when it could just be 1? Carrying a baby is hard work especially for me I had horrible morning sickness where I was physically incapacitated for 4 trimesters between all my pregnancies but I wouldn’t expect my husband to have to abstain just because I have to. I would expect him to honor me and make grand gestures of gratitude in other ways for carrying his child like a really great babymoon or push presents and also just in our daily lives by just bending to me a lot and just him being a super involved dad after (which is not always a given no matter how great the guy) but I wouldn’t expect him to follow the dietary restrictions just cause I have to. But again, everybody has different perspectives. I think he just needs to find a partner who will be ok with his perspective.

Jason, I got your back. I have a beautiful wife and two awesome kids, and I can and will vouch for you. 9 months of total abstinence from friends/hanging out and specific foods/items your pregnant wife cannot temporarily have is not healthy, in my opinion. In fact, your pregnant wife will still want you to enjoy certain regular aspects of your life because whether you are with kids or not, your life still continues on and matters. You will have a lifetime to devote to your family (a marathon, not a sprint). Of course, as mentioned, don't do these fun activities and eat all these foods in front of her. But, in private, on a few occasions, yes, have these precious, fun moments that will give you more energy and a boost for your growing family. Your wife will eventually enjoy all these treats and experiences along the way (perhaps more so than you as you make further sacrifices for your family). To sustain yourself from the onset of pregnancy to your kids all grown up, you will need little wins and breaks to keep you going. I totally understand your viewpoint and you should not feel bad about valuing some me time. We all need it.

I learned quite a bit about pregnancy symptoms from you today. I think this podcast as a whole is focused on the more youthful concepts such as partying, drinking, etc. So, as a logical conclusion it would make sense that these are high priorities. Perhaps we can choose to not judge Jason's words too harshly here and show some grace. In regards to the patriarchy you briefly referenced, I would have to say that I think a lot of successful families are based on a patriarchal structure. I believe that a very sound structure for marriage is a biblical one. This implies that at the head of the family is Christ, the man looks up to Christ, and the woman looks up to the man. Jason is youthful. To say that he should consider living alone instead of with a woman is a harsh critique. I think his ideas as well as our own will develop over time.

Yall overreacting fr - Jason does have a point, which is, why would it be constructive to impose these absolute, unyielding restrictions - no drinking, no sushi, etc. - on the husband? Is the idea that the husband must attempt to match the wife's deprivation as closely as possible in order to prove his loyalty? That doesn't make much sense, especially in the context of a healthy relationship built on a foundation of trust. It would instead be far more constructive for the husband to perform acts of service - ex. doing more of the household chores, spending more time with her; these are actions that actually improve the wife's quality of life, as opposed to some meaningless, inflexible test of loyalty. Let's also remember that Jason said that he fully agrees with reducing the frequency of going out, that he wouldn't expect his wife to work at all during those 9 months, that he would shoulder the responsibility of being the sole breadwinner, and that he would take care of her. All yall expressing this superficial outrage towards Jason are virtue signaling and/or lack capacity for nuance.

i have to agree with jason on the drinking/sushi debate lol i think that it should be toned down during pregnancy of course, but if you’re going to ask the father to not have an occasional drink at dinner or eat poke if he’s getting lunch at work or anything at all for 9 months it’s a little much.
@lamma7464 ай бұрын
No, Paul is right. Jason didn't say toned down at first btw. He simmered down after Paul. You adore your girl and your CHILD. It's about intention and trying. She's sacrificing her body, social life and mind. The least you can do is help her as much as possible. Have self control. It's like going on a diet. You can't go on a diet, but a woman can endure rearrange her organ and bone structure to have your child.... Be there with your wife. It's ok to drink a bit on occasion, but don't make it noticeable. It all comes down to maturity and respect to your future family. I kinda understand the childless women a bit more lol jk
