I feel like this too if you have 4 type hair and you plan on taking down your locs one day it’s best to keep them moisturized because you get way more breakage when you don’t moisturize your hair so use oils a lot to keep your length healthy

When I combed them out it took about 5 days with a little help but I did them mostly by myself, when I had my dreads in they were all uneven but now that I have them out and combed all the dead hair and gunk out my hair is actually all even lol, idek how that worked but overall it was worth it for me at least
