I am Zulu speaker, I believe that KiSwahili would be an ideal language for communication across African continent, I am also teaching myself since the beginning of the lockdown and im enjoting learning it because there are many words which are similar to Zulu words, e.g. Zulu: ukufika-Arrive, ukulala-sleep, fundisa- Teach, ukupha- give

Hi, I did not like the question regarding witchcraft and voodoo. It is asked from Europeanized view. Voodoo is a religion from Haiti. Voodoo is also known as Santaria in Cuba and Condemble in Brazil. It is not an East African practice. It is a religion first and foremost with Yoruba origins. Secondly, we have to be careful with labels such as the term witchcraft. Witchcraft is a European term to describe practices that are not connected to dominant spiritual practices. With that said, leave it at traditional and ancient cultural practices so that people are not inclined to "other " Tanzanians or any other Africans across the continent. I hope my explanation is clear although brief. People who focus on "witchcraft" references are also trying demonize people who they are not familiar with. That is like asking if Africans wear clothes or if everyone lives in huts. These are outdated references to not be entertained.

Let'me comment a little bit about English language...Tanzanians do have so many local languages it's more than 120. In every Region there are more than two local languages, that's why Nyerere decided to unite us with the so called Swahili, this is our sweet😘 national language😂 in primary school we learn English as a subject but who cares... Swahili is the most spoken! In secondary school yeah English is the medium of instruction but after class hours back to business Kiswahili every where😂 in the Uni we also use English in class and maybe to communicate with foreigners😂 for us we spend most of our time speaking kiswahili+local languages...how can I speak English with my fellow Tanzanian, but why!? I feel like we cannot understand each other😂😂😂In this kind of a situation how can somebody out there expect us 2b competent surely...No!! Hapana! Na mtuache!!!
