Laura skipping a Vivid BAD SQUAD banner? CR詠ZY! What do you guys think of these cards? PS. It's completely okay to disagree with my opinions on this set. The interpretation of cards is completely subjective, there's been some very good interpretations of the cards in the comments. Don't feel the need to agree with me all the time, just because I didn't get much from this set doesn't mean that others won't be able to enjoy the analyze them differently. Also, as mentioned at the end I'll be hard at work for the next few days working on the Mizu5 reactions that you guys sent over. I received 302 responses, so it's going to take a few days for me to record and edit the video. It should be a good one though!

What interests me about An untrained is that they're doing some kind of English study but not wearing their school uniforms. Outside supplemental lessons for getting that American record deal maybe?

Her card is called “Let's Master Our English” 😆 They could perhaps be getting ready for an American record deal. 👀 We’ll have to wait and see what happens and if we start getting more English in Vivid BAD SQUAD songs.

As a person who LOVES emo styles, I ADORE this set!! Something I noticed is that there is lots of blue flames in the trained, blue fire is often the “hottest” part of a flame, since this event name is called “Rekindle the flame” it all kinda connect, or maybe I’m just delusional idk just wanted to share my thoughts (and yes I do really wanna pull this set, but UGHH I’LL HAVE TO SAVE FOR MIZU5 ICHI5 AND 4TH ANNI TOO LIKE JEEZ)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'm not sure if emo means something different nowadays but the fashion style in these cards read more like a watered down 1970's punk rock. Think The Sex Pistols, The Clash, and The Ramones. I do mainly think of 2000's emo when I hear the term emo which the fashion was inspired by 1970's punk rock, but the hair and makeup were huge parts of the emo subculture. The disheveled and teased hairstyles were more reminiscent of the 1980's, while the makeup was almost a more exaggerated take on the 1990's grunge makeup. I do think you're onto something with the blue flames! They just need to connect with their new goal and literally rekindle that drive and energy they had when they wanted to surpass RAD WEEKEND.

LONG RANT AHEAD. Okay, I respectfully disagree with the flaming towards this set. I actually LOVE that the focus is mainly on the characters themselves, with little detail in the background. It makes it look like a concept photo for a K-pop album, lol. I adore the fashion they chose. It's very 'emo', or alt, and as far as i'm aware, there haven't been any outfits like this before in pjsk (?). It will really fit with the style of the commission, being an Utsu-p song and all. The sort of smug, cool vibe given off by their expressions, poses, and outfits really makes it stand out imo-it's giving the vibe of a group that KNOWS they're better than you It feel like it's the sort of style that VBS would inherit as they aim to go global. (Alt fashion VBS my beloveds) Also, I really like that the main color for this set is blue. A color that Akito is pretty much never associated with, as his main colors are warm toned, oranges and yellows and such. Every other character in the set, save Kohane, has a blue color scheme so it fits their character. For Kohane even though her representative color is pink, because her hair and eyes are just brown it's easy for her to adopt different colors schemes. Cool colors, blue in this case, usually indicate serenity, and wisdom and sensitivity. (Which, you know, Akito isn't exactly known for being super chill, not like Toya anyway.) But also INSPIRATION which i feel is one the reasons this color is used. The event is about Akito finding a new 'goal' (I'm guessing) finding a new muse, a new inspiration (i'm projecting). Akito completely contrasts this set. His hair will absolutely pop against the blacks and blues of his outfit, and I love that for him. Plus, seeing as this is fire based set, the flames are blue. Blue flames burn hotter and stronger than the traditional red or yellow flames. I think this is meant to show that VBS, and Akito especially (he has flames emenating from his eyes) are going to push themselves even harder, become even stronger and achieve greater feats than before. Lol, sorry for the paragraph 😭 VBS makes me sick.

Don't apologize at all! It's always super interesting to see how people interpret the cards. You are completely right about Akito being surrounded by so much blue in this card set, it's not a color the he's ever been associated with. As for the fashion style, this reminded me a lot of the Over Rad Squad clothing due to the harnesses and heavy hardware. The main difference is that there Over Rad Squad outfits all have heavier jackets, but the alt or even punk rock fashion influences have been present in this year's Vivid BAD SQUAD outfits. Maybe they were giving us hints about more rock inspired music coming from them?

I'm interested in this set solely because it looks like it uses a similar style for the 3rd Anniv cards -- great lighting and faces up close with blurred-out backgrounds. As much as I love Kohane, narrative-wise imo An or Akito works better as the pseudo-leader of VBS, and this set gives them that similar Leader-ish treatment that the other leaders got during the 3rd Anniv. Plus, Kohane gets the 4-star treatment this time around, so it's also a win for Kohane fans who felt like they were cheated out of a 4-star back in the 3rd Anniv event! It's not the most exciting concept for a set ever, but I'm still glad it exists.

Yeah, I do think these cards do look like something that could have been released back during the 3rd anniversary. The cards aren't exciting but I guess they were limited by the fact that these are permanent cards. I would have been cool to have seen them all sport more punk rock hairstyles since the fashion is reminiscent of that.

Kohane is all about entering "a new world" and essentially taking it all in, this has been the main motif for vbs since the main story. This has been more obvious now that they're going international, but in the beginning from learning vivid street, rad weekend and their 4th rotation being "It's time for the real deal", the shakeup of the individual's status quo to achieve new heights is Kohane's entire MO.

She was an elementary school English teacher! It's so funny to me that her character is the one learning how to speak English when she speaks the best English out of the Vivid BAD SQUAD voice actors. 😆

I didn't know what to think of this set earlier but it quickly grew on me honestly. With the focus on the hands, and the way the blue flames on their clothes are very close to them with the angles of the shots, it kinda looks like they manipulate these flames. With the title of the event, it kinda makes sense to me. They surpassed Rad Weekend's flame and now shine brighter than it, but it now means they are the ones to keep that flame alive. Hence the hotter, blue, flames they use. I haven't read the event yet, but it does seem Akito is in a slight slump and thinking to himself where to go next. Now that they're at the top of Vivid Street, they have to take what they've learned with their own hands and lead the new generation towards the "New world", like Kohane said during her event. They are the new master of the flames, and they have to handle them even brighter if they want to reach the next stage. That's my interpretation of this set, I think it still has the ways to stand its ground even facing the especially wonderful sets we got non stop since at the very least L/N worldlink !

One thing I think is important about this set is honestly? the part that people seem to take as an aesthetic thing the literal constant blue flame theming makes sense when you look at it alongside the title, akito's card name, and burn my soul's untrained The flame that's been lit since rad weekend is smoldering instead of burning like wildfire like in burn my soul and when it comes back (is rekindled) it's blue Blue flames burn hotter than orange flames and it being so persistent in the set is something tbh the set feels like one that would get better with context Perhaps the increased temperature (literally) is a precursor to how the sheer scale of their new dream will force each and every one of them to greater heights of some sort. honestly when the summary came out I was ecstatic because if you recall what vbs said during their group-up before rad blast, vbs mentioned their dreams and goals and all of their goals extended beyond surpassing rad weekend, except akito, his goal is attained by surpassing rad weekend and with him not knowing Nagi personally it was always odd that he jumped aboard as quickly as he did onto the carrying Nagi's dream train. Would that dream be more important than his own personal dream of surpassing the event that literally showed him how to live his life? I was never sure and his dialogue had been suspiciously wishy-washy (and we're talking about akito, the all or nothing guy) about this in particular so I'm glad they're giving it its own event

Thanks for your feedback on this, I do make these videos because people do interpret the cards differently. I am very much looking forward to the story and this next arc, but the cards do fall a bit flat despite the blue flames being hotter than the orange flames. We'll see what's next for Vivid BAD SQUAD though. It should still be an exciting arc for all 4 of them.

If I had to describe this, I'd be like "On Your Feet's gacha, but blue." I really like this set, imo Kohane's card looks the best. I definitely agree that they if there was an opportunity to make black characters, VBS's storyline rn would be the perfect time

I know I'm late, but I noticed that all of them have the same blue flame pattern somewhere on their clothing, which makes me think that they are meant to be some kind of a secret rebel group maybe? Kohane has that kind of a quirky getting caught card, and Kaito is doing some illegal graffiti.

Looking at the trained card most of the cards, the blue colour looked like the flaming type of blue, which can show their inner fuel/burning sense of surpassing Rad Weekend and they finally let it all out which is why there's so much blue flame type of lighting so ye. Also, since Akito and An wear heavy chains pretty much shows the burden/responsibility(chains symbolise responsibility) they had to go through (I think) and it just shows how hardworking they are. Also, notice how Kohane has fewer accessories compared to the other 2 also suggests that Kohane's responsibility wasn't as much cuz she did it out of free passion if that makes sense (she never attended RAD WEEKENDS, she only witnessed it) Just a little insight i could share :) If there's anything I'm incorrect lmk cuz I'm still stuck on the stories of the eng server and I'm not up to date on the jp server.

My thoughts on Akito’s card is that he might be burnt out? He managed to meet the number one biggest goal he’s had for the majority of his life so it makes sense that once the high of that feeling wears off that he would be like “well crap now what..”. Also that An card is ADORABLE new wallpaper for sure! Also it’s ok if this set didn’t hit the same as others because if every card was insanely amazing I think we’d start to get bored and take that for granted so this set being cool just to be cool is fine with me.
