I get that if someone damages something (maybe not on purpose, but even just without an appropriate apology) a little lesson is deserved, but... leave someone's pet out of it. It may seem like just an animal to an outsider, but in my experience they can be your best friend (and indirectly save your life). Touch my beloved bird (may he rest in peace. I miss you so much little buddy) and you'll find out what it feels like to be an anvil. Not to mention that they're innocent even if they're the culprit as they just do what they do without malicious intent, that's only something humans do.
