Pascale’s secret was soo underwhelming! I wish Pascale’s secret was that she was dance captain and she got demoted because she did something huge. Like for example, there was an injured dancer and she still let that dancer dance with that injury and unlike Richelle in season 5, this dancer will have a PERMANENT injury and now Pascale has to live with the guilt Something like that

To be fair she just mentioned she wanted to wait till she can share something and then said once she has a secret once which she revealed next ep and that was it, I blame the promos for trying to make it sound like this huge thing bc when they put the line in her own white wall promo and when they gave her just that only line in the main trailer of the second part, they just made it seem way bigger and us to expect more from it when they knew it wasn't a huge deal.

I felt so bad for anthony because on his first episode, he spoked about how he is a nervous person and jow dance helped with that but now I think there is so much pressure dance related on him. He has to stand up to a man with the biggest ego, he has to be dance captain, he has to coreograph every dance, all as a child

I have OPINIONS about this episode... It was probably my least favourite so far 😂 I thought that Eldon sending in the complaint was absolutely ridiculous. That is NOT the right way to teach them how to work under pressure 😂 and also I'm kinda disappointed with finding out what Pascale's secret was... I understand that her team demoted her as Dance Captain because they lost their last competition. If they no longer believe in her that's fine. But I don't really understand why it needed to be a secret? I was getting the impression that they'd made her the exchange dancer because she'd done something really detrimental to her team... I can't wait to see what you think 😂😂 also Renee and Ben weren't on the credits? But they were definitely in the episode? I'm noticing a few errors... It's giving rushed... 😂

This episode felt like filler, and mostly seemed like it was there to add drama and have Eldon throw references for fans. Pascal’s secret could’ve been something like she was sent to see who was the weakest link in A-Troupe and report back to her team so they had a better chance of winning Internationals to “make up” for her mistakes, but wants to find someone she can trust on A-Troupe because she doesn’t want to do it.

I personally am extremely annoyed at CBBC because they posted the spoiler for this episode literally days in advance (and I watched it without realizing it would spoil the plot of the entire episode). They posted the part of the episode starting from when Olive does her solo, then The Next Step finds out they're still in Internationals, and then Eldon reveals it was him who sent the complaint. All of that. I was unbelievably annoyed because that wasn't a teaser, it fully ruined the whole episode - what was the point in me watching it when I knew the entire outcome before it even gets put up? Anyways rant over lol

It would parallel perfect with heath's storyline since he managed to find forgiveness while she hadn't Also they acknowledged that Grace is being petty which makes me believe someone will go off at her near the end of the season

I had the exact same theory, that would have been so much better if they added on that she tried to take down the team when she was made dance captain just like Amanda and now she’s paying the price, like I understand that we already had Ariana this season as the mole type character, but it should have gave more depth to her character and something that Heath could relate to then her just being the dance captain that was demoted because they lost

I don't think the writers portrayed eldon realistically this episode. Like yes, he's supposed to be immature, but he's a fully grown man now and I really don't think he would talk so much it overruns rehearsals. If anything he would be the one keeping them focused

i feel that it's so weird that heath hasn't mentioned ariana giving him international soloist ? it keeps transitioning between new people and nothing has been mentioned about heath being the original choice. personally i really do think that he should be the soloist!

As much as I love Ari as a dancer, I feel like she needed to redeem herself and by just getting the solo she isn’t getting punished or anything. From what I can gather, there are continuity errors with this in the first couple of seasons but I believe Regionals, Nationals, and Internationals all happen every year. So France lost internationals last year but then they won regionals and nationals this year so they made it to internationals again. Basically each season isn’t a “year” seasons 1-3 are the same year, season 4 is a year, seasons 5-7 are a year then there’s a year break between seasons 7 and 8 then season 8-9 are a year so this is the 5th year in the next step world

Pascal meant the prior year that they got second at internationals. To us the show has gone on for multiple years but technically in TNS regionals, nationals, and internationals all takes place in one year which causes so much confusion. Seasons 1, 2, and 3 all are one year then season 4 was its own year but we didn't see it due to the regionals lost and then season 5 is the following year after season 4. Then season 6 & 7 takes place in the same year as season 5 technically but then due to Covid (which I think has been confirmed as canon) they had a 2 year break is what I would say and then we get to this current TNS year of season 8 & 9. I know that was a lot but hope it makes sense.

you can say as much that the rules changed bc in season 1, 2 and 3 they specifically say each one happened in a different year, they confirmed season 1 to 3 were three different years. Also, their break bc of covid in the show was confirmed as just one year for them but bc the absolute dance thing was remodeling.

Pascale's secret was a flop unless she has something else she's hiding. Also Heath and Pascale's romance seems so forced, especially after the chemistry and history he had with Daisy. I also hate that no one seems to be reacting to anything that is going on - it's like they cut down a lot of bits so it can fit into one season, but it ends up feeling so disorganised. Idk, some earlier episodes this season have been great but I have to agree with you on these recent ones.

The timeline is very questionable in this episode. If Pascale was on her team at the last Internationals (between S4 and S5), while people from a-troupe were literally not at the studio/ on J-Troupe/ aged by several years, then are we time travelling or maybe TNS makes people age quickly because of all the unnecessary stress and drama idk

Ok so I have several theories as to who Grace's accomplice could be: Lucien or Maria (makes sense it would be one of them, especially because Nick says 'who let you in here?' in the trailer) Remi (Ebby in the 9b trailer: I thought I could trust him and I was wrong) - could be getting close to Ebby to get intel on tns Pascal (She keeps saying 'maybe there is still a way I can make it up to the team' [France]) - maybe she's a double agent? And for some less likely theories: Presley (edit: glad Alishea thought of this too. There's good reasoning for it being Presley, but at the same time I highly doubt Nick is saying 'who let you in here?' to Presley - much more likely for him to say it to Lucien or Maria, who Nick knows are against tns) Eldon 💀

This episode was just ridiculous 😂 the whole complaint plot was so unnecessary, but you going in on Eldon was so funny and I completely agree, he was so annoying this ep. I was hoping Pascale's secret would've been a new and interesting plot but it was sooo underwhelming. And I agree, the trailer made it seem like she had done something terrible. But omg Olive getting a 98 😂 ok TNS, sure. Oh and it is so stupid that France had to be included in the complaint thing! That makes no sense whatsoever lol.

9A raised my expectations so much,,, and 9B has been such a let down so far, we have 7 episodes left, how many of those will be rehearsing for internationals and then the actual competition? i feel like its going to feel so rushed, and we're also only going to see canada vs france and no other dances :(

I knew you were gonna rant about Eldon and I’m glad everyone is on the same page!😂 Let’s talk about it even further because oh my god! This is pretty ridiculous even for someone like Eldon! Like! Why? Why would he do that? Why go that far to risk TNS getting kicked out of Internationals? Like. Okay. I get that he wants to make the team stronger and more prepared for twists. But this just adds more unnecessary stress and pressure to the team rather than making them stronger? What if TNS lost and got kicked out? What would he do then? It even affects Team France which would make even more enemies for TNS. Eldon is absolutely crazy for doing this. I know he’s done outlandish and crazy stuff before but this just may top it all!😂 Like this actually made me think of the potential of Eldon unintentionally sabotaging TNS after being affected by Acronation losing Nationals or even the unlikelihood of Eldon being Grace’s secret accomplice. Like where are your priorities, Eldon? We’ve just wasted valuable time for Internationals rehearsals!😂 At least we got some decent dance moves out of this scenario. Ebby, Olive and Ethan did good in the challenge and Anthony’s solo was really good at the start. Adele forgiving Ariana actually surprised me because it was so quick but it makes sense after she overheard parts of Grace and Ariana’s convo. I’m not sure if she heard it all but it gives Ariana a chance to make amends now which means she can fully come clean about Grace’s involvement now. I feel like if the season was longer, they could have stretched this story out a bit more but I reckon the forgiveness phase is happening quickly because of this season having less episodes which is a shame because it makes me nervous about Internationals and as we saw in the trailer, it’s not gonna be abroad which is disappointing. The next episode actually makes up the Ariana plot as the threads continue from there. And I agree about Pascale’s secret being underwhelming. I was expecting more to be honest. Is that really what’s eating her alive or is there more that’s been hidden? I wonder. But I hope she remains nice and genuinely doesn’t do an Ella as her dance and chemistry with Heath is nice but part of me is wondering if there’s still a secret plot there. I still want her to have more of a juicy secret but not a malicious one. Also I’m fully betting that Grace’s secret accomplice is either Presley or Maria. I’m so intrigued. Love how Grace is still one step ahead of the plan! She’s so unhinged and I love it!😂

S6-8 he was alright. And now this.

im sorry this was my weakest episode of the season in my opinion. the pascale secret plot was built up and it was heightened by the trailer, and then to find out it was just about her demotion from being dance captain was such a rubbish reveal and super underwhelming 😭 also what is happening with eldon! this was such a ridiculous plot, and idk why they're writing for eldon to be like this but it's super jarring, like can Michelle just come back immediately and help the team 😭 i feel like they're trying to compensate for internationals not being at an actual location like how it's normally held, where like in season 3 the twists and turns were announced at the big competition, like the blindfold dance. but this to me just feels like every episode in the build up to internationals they're coming up with twists to "prove" that they deserve to dance at internationals when technically if the team won nationals, shouldn't that be proof enough 😭 and the fact that team France also had to do this was ridiculous too, like if i was in their team id be so annoyed 💀 still haven't seen a single rehearsal too considering there's only 8 episodes left of the season which is the same thing we were saying 4 years ago in season 7 with a troupe and dance mania. also still no nick, so that means he still hasn't even spoken to Ariana about what she did, because he's too busy exploring the pyramids in Egypt or on a boat on the river Nile. i mean if he is I'd rather he's doing that and there's an actual explanation for where he is rather than not hearing a thing about him 😭 one saving point for the episode was grace's accomplice like i am intrigued as to who she's referring to and i was possibly thinking it could be Presley or even Maria potentially?

I also was not a fan of this episode. the whole complaint thing was so ridiculous bc if a team isnt good then theyll just lose the first round? like its not a big deal. also, like u said, thats just how a competition works. if a competition were to have some sort of complaint system then i think it would be to do with cheating or foul play. so if they wanted this storyline they shouldve made it abt that. also the fact that the re-qualification was all ballet/contemporary/"technical" moves was so annoying to me bc the whole thing abt absolute dance competitions is that there arent rlly any specific styles that u need to fit into to compete. like majority of tns's group dances over the years have been more hip hop inspired and theyve won with most of them so i dont rlly understand why they would only be proving their "technical" skills. the re-qualification shouldve had each round as a different style bc that wouldve made much more sense. i rlly loved heath and pascale's duet. i love seeing ballet on this show and seeing pointe for the first time since season 6(?) was very cool. however, i also agree that pascale's secret was extremely underwhelming. like ig that sucks for her but what on earth does that mean to us? its a fine thing to add to her character to show how harsh team france is but the fact that they built it up to be this whole secret was pretty stupid imo. also i commented this in the premier but i think pascale meant her team lost the previous internationals. ig there's a chance that that isnt actually her secret, but what she said in her talking heads makes it seem like it is. this episode just felt really pointless and unrealistic. the first half of this season felt rlly strong and im starting to worry that were going downhill. its also rlly annoying me that they havent solidified any of the dances for internationals. bc they not only have to decide who will be in each dance but they also need to choreograph for them. they couldve easily made this episode auditions for the soloist or smth like that but ig not. anyways cant wait for ur ranking video of all the episodes! ❤❤(for me this would definitely be on the bottom)

I absolutely despised Eldon in this episode, he was more childish and annoying then he has ever been in the show and bro is a full grown adult now. I kind of feel bad for acronation now😭 Pascale’s secret was such a let down, I would have wanted so much more from her rather then her being demoted from dance captain to alternate because they lost a comp, like be more creative, was she just like Emily and was too mean, was she a mole like Heath, did she let a dancer dance with an injury, they could have dove in with the depth but they just made it bland and plain Ariana not telling A-troupe about Grace too annoys me abit like I get that she has to own up to her actions and can’t blame everything on Grace but Grace manipulated her in the long run, she could also warn the team and be like I was working with Grace and she still wants to tear you down. The only problem I have with Presley being Grace’s partner is that she left the next step in season 8 happy, she showed no interest of anger towards the place, even in the deleted scene (which is not canon) she seemed like one of happiest ex B-troupers to be there, so they would have to have a real good motivation for her to suddenly change sides all of a sudden Anyways these are my thoughts on this episode, by far the worst episode of this season, so glad next episode gets back on the good side but this one was not it

13:40 i believe the way tns do seasons is misleading. It makes it seem like one year its regionals then the next year its nationals. But im almost 100 percent sure that in one calendar year, you can compete in all 3 competitions. So lets judt say in december 2022, pascal led france to 2nd place at internationals. So then april 2023 they had to win regionals, august they won nationals and they are now approaching internationals a year later

Absolute dance will most likely know what type of dancers there are at the studio so they would have done the challenge based around what they could do like I think if there’s a hip hop studio and another hip hop studio they will partner them studios together to make it fair for all competitors

So i think that L'Equipe Etoile got second at internationals before and they did regionals and nationals this year along with all the other teams but during this time Pascale was the alternate as they blamed her for losing originally. I think thats what it meant

Omg 9b is driving me crazy, nothing makes sense they're spending far too much time on the wrong things. 9a started off so good, it's so unfortunate this second half isn't holding up. And where in the world is Nick!?!??! I'm gonna screammmmmmm ALSO we're going through all of this and we won't even see a full out Internationals like we've been waiting for (which I understand is probably because of budget). I don't even know what else to say to be honest, I don't want my comments to be too negative but I haven't felt too positive about the last few episodes😭

im kind of getting sick of seeing eldon atp. i feel he’s not doing what he shd being an original character and experienced dancer/choreographer. like he was very immature and im quite disappointed bc he was gd the last few seasons he guest starred. even in season 6 he was a choreographer and he was quite mature. i just feel like its gd bringing back og’s every so often but i feel like because of the way he’s behaving its kind of a waste of time. like if he was a proper choreographer and seeing them rehearsing it would feel worth it. and i was very underwhelmed with pascales secret it was overhyped for no reason. i also wish nick would be here…but hopefully he’s having a good time in egypt. but if there’s one thing im interested is the grace cliffhanger but i don’t have high hopes bc of the what we have seen so far. i also im bored of these ‘plot twists’ bc i feel like they r just over doing it and its just forced. i mean the first half of the season was ok but im not looking forward to the rest of the season ngl. i also feel sorry for thalia like did her bf just ditch her after they lost nationals?! that is just rude and he isnt even doing a good job anyway.

@@enderhd375 Episode 15 is an improvement but is also quite pointless. (SPOILERS FOR EP 15) I mean that ebby sub-plot should've been removed for more time with Anthony, Jett, heith and Olive discussing about wether to let Ariana back on the team, because Heith went from hating her to realising that she should be on the team way too fast. I'd rather they'd have stretched that out a little bit. Maybe over a few episodes. It just felt like the team came round to Ariana way to quickly and Anthony just giving her the solo at the end was pretty stupid but it made for a good cliff hanger moment and I hope it puts a bit of a strain of Ariana and olives relationship moving forward. ( Also video editor brain on, but these two episodes especially 15 felt quite poorly edited) But overall I am enjoying series 9 I'd go as far to say it's the best series since series 6.

This episode is not my favorite. Eldon is really needs to stop causing chaos, Anthony is trying to do his job as Dance Captain. I really enjoyed Anthony's solo. Eldon and Anthony's rivalry is happening and it's going to be lit; Anthony will stand up to Eldon that he should get out. I think Grace's Accomplice will be either Maria or Presley. The rounds were mostly technical since Team France of 4 dancers specialized in Ballet. I enjoyed Heath and Pascale's duet, it was cute. I feel like Pascale's secret of she used to be a Dance Captain to Team France and got demoted is like when Miss Kate told Emily that she lost her dance captain because of an injury and then got demoted in Season 1. Maybe Pascale's secret would have been she had a crush on Heath or that she messed up during Internationals of a routine or is related to with the judges. Nick hasn't appeared in the last couple of episode, it's like Emily in the graveyard and Kenzie in the graveyard. Eldon is definitely sabotaging The Next Step after AcroNation lost at Nationals and want revenge. I thought I was going to enjoy Eldon in Season 9 but not so much. I'm glad Adele and Ariana are best friends again. Why didn't Adele asked Ariana why was causing chaos in the first place and Adele would have understand what Ariana is going through. Adele and Grace having a stared down at Cha Cha's could mean that there rivalry will happen. I'm looking forward to your next reaction video.

Honestly, completely agree about wanting everyone's reactions to the Ariana situation. It feels like an episode was cut in a way. Ariana literally tried to ruin the whole team. Sometimes I do feel when all the characters are together on screen, they write them all the same way. How did basically all of them stay silent?? Very unrealistic. It feels like they couldn't be bothered to write individual reactions in that scene. Like you said, I wanted more than talking heads. This was meant to be such a big moment. Half a season for Ariana to come out!

So basically there are a lot of plot wholes that I just think are dumb. Number one: Season 6 says that the next step had to compete in the senior division for regionals. Doesn't that technically mean they need to do that for nationals/ internationals Two: As absolute dance says you aren't allowed to compete in internationals if your a professional dancer, that means kenzie can't compete because she was in dancemania. Number 3: I don't understand how they just randomly connect the camera connected to the TV and stuff randomly it's just dumb.
