She was cancer survivor in 19 years old. Can you believe that? I was so happy every time she sang, but I was sad because it seemed to shorten her life span. In fact, she had tried to give up her singing career for the past three years due to severe pneumonia. So I shed tears of hope and sadness whenever she sung.

Like others, I was so captivated by her when I ran into her in this video, and have become a fan ever since. It tickled me to hear your use of a circle to describe her singing. I am so glad you gentle woman discovered Sohyang. I stumbled upon Sohyang for the first time with her cover of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and was left completely shaken and awestruck, probably not too different from your experience. I have gone on to become her fan for more than one reason. She is a Korean singer with incredible range and, to me, an unparalleled head voice. Even more importantly, she commits her emotion in every single one of her performance as you already sampled in this epic performance. I sincerely hope that you will react to more of her performances (almost all live). She will amaze you every single time. There are lots of recommendation for you already. I would suggest you consider Arirong Alone, a truly magic experience of a traditional Korean song, or if you wish to listen more her cover of English songs, consider Lean On Me in the Michael Bolton special of the Immortal Song 2 (at kzbin.info/www/bejne/fafWmHaiociBhqc), or her cover of Whitney Houston's 'I Have Nothing' - a performance worthy of the original legendary singer. You have just listened to one of the greatest female vocalist in the world right now, who is relatively unknown. She is a technically flawless singer according to ~every vocal coach and teacher on KZbin. She is a devout Christian (CCM singer) gospel singer who sings for God and to comfort people in difficult times, not for money or fame. She has turned down international offers, which is why she is not well known outside of Korea. KZbin has given us the opportunity to listen to one of the greatest singers in the world. She sings with emotion and has driven many reactors (including vocal coaches) to tears. She has done the best cover that I have ever heard of Whitney Houston's "I have Nothing"; you should consider listening to it (be careful of copyright strike).

Loved the reaction! If you want to hear some Christmas songs from her, you should check out her singing Oh Holy Night! It’s one of the best renditions eve of the song in my opinion! As for Sohyang being a Disney Princess, she technically already has been as she sang all the music for the Korean version of Moana. That being said, she should have her own Korean princess and sing all the languages 😂.

Most people would have recommended O Holy Night from the I Am A Singer 2 PERFORMANCE. That is probably her best rendition to date. However, you should see her singing O Holy Night on her knees when she sang the part "Fall on your knees" ; and also when she sing O Holy Night when it was literally snowing around her in an outdoor performance (fan cam). Sohyang just project her voice into our hearts every single time which no other artists could.

I've been enjoying finding out more about her also! You both make comments I feel I can totally relate to, and strike me as something I get and can relate to. What has impressed me tremendously is finding out more pieces about her background. Apparently it is not so surprising so many like me had not heard of her because she has made conscious decisions not to become a diva celebrity not in line with her inner voice from God and the life challenges from dealing with cancer at a young adult age.
