I might be biased because it was my first WWE event I went to but I thought 08 SummerSlam was amazing especially Undertaker vs Edge Hell in a Cell match.

As far as storytelling and progressing storylines … this SS was ELITE. In ring matches not so much compared to other years like you said. Jacob definitely got banged up doing that ‘injury spot’ but the spot was meant to happen bc you can’t put Jacob and Reigns face to face that quickly. Also, I still think Jacob is undercover sent by Roman. Which would make it easy for Solo to not question why he didn’t come to his aid when Roman showed up. And if he isn’t undercover and truly is in The Rock’s Bloodline, then the spot made sense to keep him away from Roman. Punk v Drew w/ Seth made up for me with the ‘97 SS Bret v Taker w/ HBK as the ref throwback. Seth even counted exactly like HBK did. Stopped at 2, looked at Drew counted 3 and then immediately left the ring. Sucks but I think he had to be there to help take some of the load off punk in his first singles match. Him and Drew most definitely had his back! Next one should be so much better.

My thoughts on each match Rhea Ripley vs Liv Morgan- Great match and expected the outcome, 7-10 Bron Breakker vs Sami Zayn- Liked the outcome but 5 minutes of a squash match I did not enjoy, 3-10 Logan Paul vs LA Knight- Absolute talent from both performers and really enjoyed it, 8-10 Bayley vs Nia Jax- Good match but took a bit to get there and also kinda predicted the outcome, 7.5-10 CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre with Seth Rollins as Special Guest Referee- Great match but definitely underwhelming and I do expect them to rematch at Bad Blood, 8.5-10 Gunther vs Damien Priest- Amazing match and loved the ending, 9-10 Cody Rhodes vs Solo Sikoa- Awesome match and definitely my favorite, WM 40 vibes with this match with it being overbooked and Roman coming back was awesome, Jacob Fatu also has great potential, 10-10. I would love to hear other opinions and hope everyone is doing well :)

Wyatt, go watch SS 97 Hart vs Taker with HBK as special guest referee, then rewatch Punk vs McIntyre . It will change your perspective of the match and storyline. Obviously the fight was ok, it’s Punk’s first match in a year after injury, the main part was the storyline

I was at SummerSlam 2024 and I thought it was easily one of the best WWE PLE’s that they have produced ever since Triple H took over as the Head of WWE Creatove. Triple H has a vision and he sees it through. He cooked on Saturday in Cleveland.

Honestly the reason that the Mania one was better was because it was the first, we didn't know what to expect, we knew interference, but not when/how much, this time around, while wasn't bad, kinda already knew the formular for the match so to experienced fans knowing all that already did take away a little from it

I think people will glaze bad stuff from hhh like honestly I don't think we've seen a classic ppv since (not counting mania) backlash 2023 I think the 5 ppv cards have been brutal because even if 1 match sucks it can ruin the whole show I haven't been liking the ppvs latley this has been the best one since mania and the only ppv I've rlly enjoyed in awhile not saying I don't like the other ones but there not these classics ppvs like 2-5 matches are what ever and the other ones will be solid then ppl will glaze it I think ppl are afraid to criticize triple h or something truthfully. I hope he continues the 6-7 matches it rlly helps out
