Honestly I help moderate a small snark subreddit about a KZbinr (that I find lowkey annoying but don’t actually feel super strongly about, I’m only helping moderate because I have moderated a makeup subreddit before and the girl who created the snark subreddit asked for help) and the only person who has gotten threatened with doxxing has been ME - so the psycho doxxer is actually a fan (or somebody on the youtuber’s team, but I’m hoping it’s just a crazed fan), not a snarker. The criticism in our subreddit is measured and there are rules about what’s appropriate to snark on and what isn’t. So not all snark subreddits are evil cesspools. Some definitely are, but saying they all should be banned is ridiculous. Half these KZbinrs get their content from snark subreddits. Live by the snark, die by the snark 🤷🏼‍♀️

Appeal it with the link in your permaban message. The Admins in general are slow as fucking hell but they'll generally give you your account back if you appeal and weren't actually doing some insane shit. It can take a week or two, but as someone who has had to deal with Admins way more than a normal person they've never not unbanned me when I've appealed...it just can take a couple weeks.

As a Yorkshireman (UK) I can confirm that you tend to pick up the accents of people around you (subconsciously) and soon lose it when elsewhere. My mum was brought up in West Yorkshire and moved to East Yorkshire where rhe accents are vastly different. When visited by her West Yorkshire friends she spoke to them in their own accent! i thought she was mocking them but she did not even realise! I also had a school friend who spent a year in Liverpool. It took 3 days for him to lose his Scouse accent when he returned home.

I think the real issue is that these little micro communities often go overlooked and unchecked. It’s like a breeding ground for detached, hateful people to be riled up into committing major violations of privacy and ethics.
