After my initial skim through on release of the album then actually listening to the anthology I physically felt like I’d been on a rollercoaster ride. The story telling in this album really sounds like therapy to her, like she needed to write these songs for herself, not for the money or the fame but to help her heal and close the doors of her past griefs

I’m just so obsessed with Who’s afraid of little old me? It’s soooo reputation coded and kind of aggressive!! In this album she’s so explicit about her feelings, her grief and anger, and I hope it’s a real therapy for her cause all this situation with Matty is awful…

Not gonna lie, I'm a little lukewarm on this album at first listen because the writing style being rambly and not really in the pocket just doesn't capture me when it comes to Taylor, at first. I know in like 3 weeks this would be my favorite album, like what happened to folklore (altough Red still remains supreme ok dont get me wrong!) My top 5 after first listen are: 1. My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys 2. The Black Dog 3. Guilty as Sin? 4. loml 5. The Albatross

UK swifties were not awake enough to process TTPD and then she drops another 15 tracks! Blondie we need to sleep! Regardless of music taste and personal TS favs, I think everyone can hear how much SHE needed to write this album. This was for her, not the fans, not the charts…she needed to let it all out. Lyrically some of her best - it is poetry, we all needed the lyrics on screen 😂 Sonically and as a whole, I’m not sure if this is an automatic number 1 album for every swiftie. The mix of Folkmore & Midnights sound makes sense for the topics still being discussed, and for her to let it all out before moving forward. But I think a completely new sound would be well received as and when she decides to start fresh. 🥰

I do agree with this, I think as an entirely it’s a lot to consume to automatically jump to number 1 - I think she has the automatic support of her fans which means any album she releases will usually be record breaking without it needing to be sonically cohesive necessarily - I will be interested to see what happens fan wise over the next few weeks though!! 🫶

Writing this comment as I watch having listened a day after release with my swiftie best friend (we waited to be together) so bare with and if it’s super long and stuff you already know I apologise and totally get if you don’t read it all. Okay so yeah a lot of swifties are unpacking the album in full BUT as you’re a New Romantics stan and someone who heard it live here’s a (not so) fun little lyric parallel for you we noticed “Please leave me stranded it’s so romantic” to “how dare you leave me safe and stranded” in the bridge of Down Bad 🥺🥺💔💔 I was shook and it broke me and my bestie. Also yes it’s okay to cry at So Long London that song 💔💔 In But Daddy I Love Him in response to your thoughts about the baby lyric, on reflection I definitely think it’s a dig at the public and how she knows how invested the media are about her relationship and weight changes/ pregnancy rumours etc The way you pronounced loml as if it’s a word😂😂 I love that The ad-lib at the end of I can do it with a broken heart made me DIE it was so funny. The lyrics regarding the pulse in the smallest man who ever lived reminded me of You’re Losing Me “I can’t find a pulse my heart won’t start anymore” Clara Bow is the lucky Ones sister it speaks about the downside of fame and Clara was a silent movie actress I loveeeee so high school and YESSS the 00´s vibe is a slayyy I love what you said about the prophecy so many people only talk about Taylor in relation to her money. My bf literally asked about physical copies when I said she released the second half and if fans are gonna have to buy the album again 🙄 poor Taylor :(( So many of the songs call back to her previous works bc she said she started it as soon as she handed in midnights and I feel midnights was as a result of the re-records and I love the manuscript for that! This album is Matty Heally coded all over it!! Swifties were delusional not to see how obsessed they were with each other. MGK&Megan Fox intensity… Taylor loves Bad Boys!! She knows it’s not healthy, but she’s a tortured poet and they don’t like normal… They despise it actually… She has to keep this good American girl facade in order to keep her career but it’s not what she craves deep down… She can’t be her true self and that’s a torture… She likes them twisted, she likes them dark…

Matty and Taylor have been close friends for over ten years. Matty said in a previous interview when asked if they had ever dated that with their schedules it just never happened. Then last year they dated for 4 weeks. It was obvious they were both into each other but the toxic element of her fans really were horrible to them both. Sending Taylor a petition warning her she had to split from him and sending Matty’s family death threats and openly telling him to O.D. She knew that Matty was a former drug user and went into rehab but he’s been clean for years. Some of her fans are saying Matty ghosted her but people close to him said that for the good of his mental health, which he struggles with and her career he left. It wasn't what she wanted but really he did it thinking he was saving her career as her fans was so against him. If you look at interviews etc after the split it’s obvious he handled the break-up badly. I think the album is about many things. There are references to Joe, she is angry with Matty and angry at her fans for trying to dictate her life. She was struggling with failed relationships, the demands made on her etc. she was unhappy about a lot of things. She said the songs took two years to write so it’s not a album about Matty as they dated in 2023 and before that they were close. I think she added him onto it. I hope one day she can write a happy album instead of about failed relationships. Both are happy with new partners and I hope the fans stop bullying Matty because some of the things I’ve read today are disgusting. Even after her calling them out 😔😔
