Webber is similar to Aaron Smith but he's 10kg lighter. Nice to hear the another good rugby anylist sticking up for Stevenson, he also had a great kick to make Koroibete knock it on and a turn over too. I like Talea's skill set that's unique, his ability to yoyo around in tight situations and draw players in and then offload. He works well with WJ too, and the option to bring Leister on fired up and ready to make big carry's against tired defenders seems perfect.

Just wanna say guys this is best analysis at the moment in NZ. You actually talk through issues and talk through the points raised to a conclusion, as opposed to the breakdown where they start a conversation on a topic and change topics every 60 seconds without letting everyone talk through their thoughts.
@duanekuru4157

Good talk. Just a thought. On tactics - to me what ALB does is he brings a step to the midfield attack. Jordie is more a battering ram. Good one too. My point is if you did the analysis I'm sure you could pick the appropriate personnel based on the likely skills needed in the game and knowing your opposition's strengths and approach. If you need a stepper in a swarming defence then ALB will be better at that then Jordie. But if you believe there will be space and a straight line carry is more important then that would surely be a part of the process for determining the game day 15 and bench. In my thinking it's good to have the option both as a strategic approach for the start And as a different look IF the game doesn't go our way by early in the second. Havili is another stepper, DMAC is a gasser, as is Beaudy, Jordon is different again somewhere almost a combination of both. Narawa, Fi Nuku are Power players and Telia again a combination. All excellent love there individual and collective talents and skills. AND I suggest we don't have a top 15. We have a top 15 for the game And a plan B on the bench because we've thought through the challenge. OK it is only Rugby. I know but if we are going to get back on and stay on top I think this conversation is relevant. Go All Blacks. D.

Also this delusion that ex rugby players know a lot about the game. They don’t. They know the lived experience, yet their awareness about many things in rugby is poo poo 💩

All this Caleb Clarke hate is so unnecessary. He's been an exceptional player coming off the bench and it's been proven. People are criticizing him when he hasn't even been playing full games. From what I've been seeing these few games is that he makes an impact and he's a key player. There have been way too many times that Telea has wasted opportunities that Clarke could easily capitalise on. I personally think that Caleb definitely deserves to be in the WC squad. Once everyone realises how good a a player he is they will eat their words! Statistically he is one of the best left wingers today and people don't seem to realise that...
@camwells9726
@camwells9726 Жыл бұрын
What I noticed is how they are using him off the bench and I think it has been overlooked by most, He has been in close looking for ball near the ruck , getting involved with pick and drives like an extra loose forward , I think it’s part of the ploy to speed up the game , I think him and leister will share that role
@memene0
@memene0 Жыл бұрын
nah it's not hatred, Caleb Clarke is definitely a good powerfull player and he seems like a good lad. He brings a lot of punch and he is a menace in attack. But he is not a very good defender yet: he makes a lot of bad reads, has really poor decisions making skills and ends up in no man's land beetween players defending nobody but opening plenty of spaces out wide. He actually cost a lot of tries to the all blacks.

Finlay super scrappy on defence. Ā different style. If Aaron Smith gets injured then weber comes into start as his style is most similar. But if you want a change up in styles then Christy or Roigard. Clarke is statistically the best defensive wingers we have along with Narawa. Check out the black jerseys video on Clarke and his defence vs others on wider defensive positioning and context too as well as his attacking role being a bit different. Cleaning rucks and power. Distribution when the defence doesn't expect it at first reciever.

You're so right. I've seen Christie fail badly especially in his lack of defense. He could lose us the World Cup. Why Webber missed out I cannot believe. Webber is 'Gold' in all aspects of his game. Clarke? He's failed to impress this year at all. So many great outside backs I'm surprised Clarke got in. As much as I like Tamaiti Williams, his game especially his scrummaging lacked against the Aussies
@fossilmatic
@fossilmatic Жыл бұрын
The “hidden injury” theory is interesting, in both the forwards and the outside backs. Jordan, head crock; Narawa, back; B.Barrett, head crock; Telea, leg; Lester, leg; Whitelock, Retallick, both leg; Jacobsen, head crock; Cane, neck. These have not been “niggles”. They have kept these players off the field for extended periods over the last couple of seasons. Throw in the strong possibility of a card suspension in the loose forwards and we may be light there. We look to have a very strong starting 15, but how many would be relied upon to play every game required through a World Cup? You can see why we had an All Black XV tour for the next tier.
@axxey
@axxey Жыл бұрын
I'd be interested what positions players are bracketed cover as, we have a single 10 bracketed with two 15s to cover and three one dimensional wingers in telea, clarke and fainga'anuku. Jordie Barrett is historically our best utility but has performed well at 12. Lienert-Brown has been the best 12 or 13 while fit. We have 6 fullbacks skillsets repurposed to various positions.(which i love) Good problems to have but definitely unclear to the public who will consistently cover where.
@Meketoa1

Webber is all Class! How he misses out especially to Christie I can't believe. Christie's defence has been awful to the extent of bleeding tries. Webber was the class halfback this season especially. Clarke is lucky to be going. So many good backs besides him at the moment.

Given how young and unexperienced the Wallabies pack was even relative to the understrength ABs pack, it's reassuring to see them piece together a style of play that is improving week on week. Hopefully a sign of some positive years to come 🙏. "The teams that won probably experimented less..." I don't know if I agree with that. Wales were a very different side and Ireland started with like 2/3 out of their starting XV. Even England had a good amount of first 23 in their team that lost to Wales. The French XV were all young fellas, so I agree there, none of that team were starting XV, something which Scotland may find out about this weekend if France decide to biff them in revenge with their starting XV.

With one “warm up” game against SA, looking like they’re gonna give some fringe players a shot then into the WC, France will be the first time we see the No1 team, they’ll play a strong team against Italy. I think the forwards should play a mobile game and not get caught up in the ruck, guys are coming in and burying them on the bottom, they then take themselves out of the game while they get back to their feet, if not penalized. also shifting the ball along the backline and getting to the 2nd line of forwards just to go nowhere forward. Instead of going wide, a number of opportunities missed. Mix it up a bit, someone like Beauden should call it but anybody should, and, for "all the skinny fast boys to take advantage" 105 kgs, Jordie said. I feel, Tvangafasi, Cable Clark, David Havili, Finley ⁹, are not giving much front foot rugby. Even Lomax and Whitelock they are carrying the ball but hard to gain meters. Present day rugby mostly Boks, Ireland and France if you want to play them it should be favoured who fearlessly bang and penetrate lines with impact. Cable Clark and Finley must prove, specially Cable every ball carry before passing get tackled and fall pray mostly. Best is to observe matches through TV and see how each player behaves in situations. Cause they play only for 80mts. Last year AB failed using the same old people over and over.
