Yesterday - the most covered song in history and was voted the best song of the 20th century in 1999 (In Britain). The Fab 4 are the GOATs.

The Beatles as a group are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Each member of the group is in the Hall of Fame as a solo artist. There is months of material from these four lads from Liverpool. “Hey Jude” is their biggest hit.

Actually, Paul knew George first as they rode the same bus to school. It was Paul who brought George in.

One of the most beautiful melodies ever... He came up with it in his sleep. 🙂

Paul has always said the melody came to him in a dream, and he thought it was a song he had already heard. For two weeks, he asked otther people what the song was, and no one knew, so he decided it was his. Only many years later, someone suggested to him that the lyrics were actually about his mother, who died of breast cancer when he was only 14. He says he didn't do it consciously, but he thinks it's probably about his mother. He was just 22 when he wrote this song.

the idea that one even has to say "Before Autotune" is silly really when you think how long ago this was...59 years! We did have a form of auto tune called "take your car to the shop and get your car engine tuned up", lol.

Paul wrote this after waking up with the melody fully formed in his mind. He was always worried that he had accidentally plagiarized it because it came so easily. This was the first Beatles song where only one member of the band performed on it. It's the most covered song in history, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Later he would write another song that came to him in a dream, where his mother, Mary, came to him, trying to sooth him and told him to not worry, just Let It Be. At this time in their career, there were rarely any empty seats.

No. it wasn't just McCartney and Lennon had "a thing going" like a duo. Lennon had a skiffle band called the Quarrymen, and Paul was invited to join. That's when they slowly started to write songs together. Soon George joined, other members left the group on a gradual basis. John's art school pal Stuart Sutcliff got a bass, could barely play it, then left the band later died of a brain hemmorage. Paul took over the bass BEFORE Stuart died. Pete Best was asked to join the group because he was available so they would go to Hamburg Germany to play in the clubs, and played with them for 2 years, ...but he was not good enough when it came to studio recordings and wouldn't change his hair to the new Beatles style.. Ringo was asked to join and they sacked Pete. The rest is history. Ringo was way better, the missing ingrediant, had already played professionally.

George and Paul knew each other first. Pete was not the 5th Beatle. George Martin was.

I saw the Beatles "Live" in Cardiff, UK, 1966 and it's very difficult for people today to fully understand the magnitude of their worldwide fame. May I highly recommend that you considered reacting to a 30 year old singer/multi instrumentalist/composer Dimash Qudibergen from Kazakhstan. Another fantastic young singer is 20 year old Lucy Thomas from the UK. Both of these singers are the best in the world and I guarantee you'll love them.

The guy who shot Reagan did it to “impress” Jodie Foster.

The screaming girls reminded me that I was lucky enough to have seen the Beatles live back in '64. I say 'seen' quite deliberately, 'cos I couldn't hear them! Just a solid wall of screaming from the beginning of their act till way after the end!

Just an FYI: Paul McCartney is actually right handed. When he first started learning the guitar he tried it the way a right handed person would but it never seemed to work for him. Then, he tried it the way a left handed person would and everything gelled for him. So while he plays guitar and bass left handed for everything else he is right handed.

I thought that, but apparently he's actually genuinely left handed - think one early biography is responsible for the idea he isn't.

Ronald Reagan was shot by a guy who was infatuated with Jodie Foster. That guy had been a Lennon fan too and after Lennon's death he got the idea to kill Reagan. It sounds absurd but Jody Foster had starred in a movie, "Taxi Driver", where Robert De Niro's character saves her from a pimp and becomes a hero. However, De Niro's character had tried to assasinate a guy running for congress. The woman he was dating was working for the campaign of that candidate. The guy that shot Lennon was obsessed wirh the book, "The Catcher in the Rye". He had been a Beatles fan but he got obsessed with religion. He saw John as a phony who was only in for the money. He actually had a long list of celebrities he wanted to kill. Unfortunately, John felt safe enough to walk out in public without a bodyguard in NYC.

Love me that Paul McCarthy. You spent more time shopping cat ears than researching your subject matter.

Chapman got Johns autograph and shot him. Hinckley shot President Reagan over Jodie Foster. Not being rude, I was 15 years old when this happened . Love all your reactions, and just remember haters hate themselves first.

Chapman was mentally ill. He had a "kill list" of famous people that included the Pope and Paul McCartney. I guess John was the easiest person to access. Chapman is still in prison.
