It's easier to remember the dwarves' names by the way they are in groups - all the ones with similar names are brothers of each other. Fili and Kill; Balin and Dwalin; Dori, Nori, and Ori; Oin and Gloin; Bifur, Bofur, and Bombur. The books describe them as all having long beards - not different beard and hair styles for each one. Many of the extra material isn't from "The Hobbit". That's true. But is from another Tolkien's books: "The Unfinished Tales". Those books presents some unfinished writings from Tolkien that was published by his son Christopher, after his death in 1973. In those books, Tolkien wrote about the White Council, their rol in the war against the Necromancer and many other things. Peter Jackson took those less known source of material for the movies. So, many people think that Jackson invented those parts. But was Tolkien who created.
@verbaluk14 жыл бұрын
While some parts are 'inspired' by Unfinished Tales, they didn't have the rights to use the material directly. Also, it's only a few parts; most of the extra material is the invention of Jackson/Walsh/Boyens/Del Toro.

@@danilooliveira6580 In the Middle Ages, often dragons were depicted with two legs and two wings. "Wyvern" is a word used for two legged dragons since the 16th or 17th century, and means viper (a kind of snake) just like "dragon" comes from the latin draco which also means snake... so wyverns are dragons and Smaug is awesome.
@danilooliveira65804 жыл бұрын
@@Ryuvern historically Wyverns and Dragons were used interchangeably, it was mostly a regional thing, what a dragon looked like could change completely depending on who you asked. in modern literature every Wyvern is a Dragon, but not all Dragons are Wyvern. as for Lord of the Rings, Smaug is canonically depicted as a classical 6 limbed dragon, there is even artwork from Tolkien himself that depict him like that (in the damn map he is 6 limbed). Smaug was even 6 limbed on the cinematic version of the first movie, they changed it later in production for... some reason. its important because Glaurung, the first Dragon, had no wings, it was more like a huge lizard that could breath fire, and others were just huge serpents, like Scatha, and then later dragons grew wings from their back, like Smaug and Ancalagon.

The character of Tauriel was made up out of whole cloth for this movie. She does not exist at all in the book. The powers that be in Hollywood decided there needed to be some romance in the movie, even though Tolkien didn't put any in himself (though there was certainly some in LotR). Likewise the whole barrel-battle scene was completely made up for the movie (and looked utterly ridiculous to me). Yes, in the book, they ride in the barrels down the river, with Bilbo invisibly clinging onto one of them. There was no orc battle. The elves weren't even aware they had escaped until later. Someday, I hope someone makes a live-action movie based on The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Id say the hobbit trilogy is justa really long single movie. First movie being 1st act. Second movie 2nd act and 3rd movie 3rd act

I love these movies a lot, but they didn't do a great job of describing how desperate the situation was in Mirkwood, they had no food for days, and they had to carry Bombur a long way it was really bad

Be sure to look up the actor who voiced Smaug, and videos of him doing the part.
