personally I've always felt that Smash was like the easiest game to just accept combos for their style points. I'm not gonna go on some elitist rant about how smash isn't as skilled or some bullshit, all I'll say is that the presentation and much more cartoony it is really helps keep the palette calm as opposed to a more gritty or serious looking product.

Fair is your friend, you can do a real nice/easy short hop fair combo from center stage/ledge, and it starts killing around 50ish. Short hop reverse pound, and short hop up air are good combo tools, and short hop up air can confirm into short hop rest, which can be ideal as low as 30, depending on your opponent. Jab 1 can reset into sing on a miss tech, and confirms into rest and kills universally above 83%. Sing is bigger than it looks, it can be inconsistent sometimes, but it's a decent button. Roll out is good for recovery, mix up, movement, and kills. Learn where the rest hitbox is, and practice with it a bit before you start going for some big boy rests, screw up and lose stocks/games. And finally, make sure you enjoy the character, as that is truly the key to making the character do what you want IMO.

Make your opponent play your kind of game rather than trying to slug it out. Win in neutral if you can. If you can’t, play super campy until they make mistakes you can start something with.
