The main problem I see personally in this game is the camera work. Usually in 2D fighting games, the camera stays dead center inbetween the two characters and zooms in and out depending on the distance between them. This gives a more dynamic framing and erases the dead spaces behind the players. In this game, it's the camera that's dead. It's barely even moving and it looks like you're watching the fight from across the street on top of another building. I'm 100% sure the game would look much better with simply the proper camera work

Pfft, i prefer that old school 2d fighter camera work, no need for cinematic supers either, makes the game less competitive, make it feel more like a game less like a "sport". IDK hard to explain but I recon anything that distracts from the competition is trash, It should be from a user perspective not a spectator perspective, also cinematic supers are less functional too.

They make this 2D fighter and make you think it is but put no money into it knowing the IP will carry it and the thought of “2D traditional fighter” will allow HxH fans to not cope. But it’s cope. Hopefully it’s good for the fans because it’s shitty when games are trash. I’m not a HxH fan but for those that are hopefully they get a good game.

@@Sparda51 it’s not cope bro the animation and graphics are ugly I agree. But it doesn’t mean they are putting no effort and doing some reverse psychology to trick people to buy it for a cash grab. Their effort is just going to other places to line up with the intended audience. If they wanted a low effort cash grab a traditional fighting game with bad graphics is just not the way. It will instantly turn off the masses that aren’t fighting game enthusiasts. What’s happening is that they are actively deciding to appeal to a niche audience (which goes against maximizing money) that prioritizes gameplay and net code over everything so that’s where you are going to see a lot of the effort placed over the next few months. If they don’t get that right and the graphics are bad the game will fail terribly because both the masses and niche won’t like it. A somewhat balanced fighting game with great rollback netcode is more rare in anime games than graphics.

The ps2 graphics are a huge plus for me, all it means is devs can allocate more resources to content, gameplay and balance. I dont care if there 20 trillion polygons if it takes devs an eternity to make one character. Gimme serviceable graphics and a 50 character roster, idgaf if it looks old

IMO it feels like their stripping down the aspects of HxH to mold it into a 2D fighting game. How will the game incorporate the different aspects of Nen like: Ten, Zetsu, Ren, Hatsu. I feel like that would be dope & make the game more unique if we can chose different nen systems for various effects. As it is now the mechanics just seem copy & pasted

It's a good start but needs to be in the oven until late 2025, maybe a comfy 2026. Too much space, fighting feels a bit flat, very dull intros, character models are way too small, roster looks criminally small. Needs work but the devs can do it, but it would be foolish to say this is ready to launch this year.
