In 3rd season is mentioned that James did a terrible draw at 16, so I think he was like 18/19 in season 3 and probably 22/23 in this ep and Riley maybe 21/22(and she was like 20 years old maybe in season 4)

Actually, the timeline of TNS is very complicated. Emily and Eldon met when they were 5. Emily is revealed to be 16 in 2x24 (she joined The Next Step when she was 2 and Ms Kate says in that episode that she was there for 14 years). Eldon joined TNS 2 years before James did (revealed in 2x18) and James joined the studio when he was 6. If Eldon joined TNS 2 years before James was 6 and that was when Eldon was 5, it means Eldon is one year older than James. That also means that Emily is one year older than James, seeing as Emily and Eldon are the same age. James HAS to be sixteen in 2x23 because he gets his driver's license. As a result, Emily has to turn 17 after 2x24 or in Season 3 to still be a year older than James. This means that Riley has to be 15 or younger in 2x24 because she's Emily's younger sister. Which means Riley is 16 at the very older in Season 3. Which means she became studio head when she was 16, turning 17 that calendar year at the very oldest. Which is illegal, but...the timeline is a mess. The Christmas episode was released prior to Season 7, but Season 7 is after Season 6, which did Regionals and Season 8 did Nationals, meaning that Season 7 is set between April-May, which does not make sense for Christmas. The first three seasons were supposed to be one calendar year cuz it was Regionals, Nationals, Internationals. The Christmas special does not have a "logical" time that it can be set cuz even if it was set after Season 4, before Season 5 (when Christmas logically is), events that happened in Seasons 5 and 6 are reference and Kingston, Ozzy, Summer, Kenzie and Finn are present, whereas Noah, Skylar, LaTroy, Sloane and Cassie are absent. I think the Christmas special episodes are set outside the show timeline, it's not extremely logical in terms of realistic calendar timing. 😬

In case you want to know, Ozzy and Richelle were a slow burn. Ozzy likes Richelle since the off seasons of season 5 but she didn't take him seriously, eventually they build a really beautiful relationship and friendship and she starts to fall for him in season 8 and by the end of it they get together
