I wonder if the brush is going to be a single "two handed" weapon, with the palette being just visual flair, or if the brushes are going to be one-handed, with the palette being a seperate item, going into the offhand slot. Considering how few classes make use of the offhand slot, I wouldn't mind if it was the latter. Being able to glam the brush and palette seperately, would only give us more options. :) Yep, pictomancer goes back to Relm in FF6.

It'll probably be a "two-handed" weapon like everything else, but the two dye channels does mean we could potentially see the palette and brush separately dyable. They experimented with other jobs having a main hand and off hand back in ARR with WHM and BLM and quickly moved away from that, so I don't see it coming back just for Pictomancer.

I think it'll be more like the RDM sword and orb: they belong together but are two seperate items.

Whenever they add 2 jobs i notice one is more manly and the other is more feminine. Its even empesized in the trailer music. Viper male singer, Pictomancer female singer. Ofc many of us just play all jobs and dont care about it though.

At this point, unfortunately, you dont need a lot of dig to find those grumpy players around 😕 the korean mmo comment is wierd cause korean games and japanese games are actually quite different but yeah...with dawntrail I've seen a lot more background noise that i was used to. I mean, Pictomancer isn't exactly what i was expecting but I guess we'll see how it really works in game😊

I think the reason you hear the toxic korean MMO comments are that most of the angry and reactive comments are coming from MMO fans, not FF fans (not that there's anything wrong with one group vs the other). People who have never heard of Relm, but have played Lost Ark which has an Artist class, and they're so keen to hate on the new things that they just assumed FFXIV was blindly copy/pasting from Lost Ark.

I'm happy for the people who are into it, but I would've preferred something much more understated, more akin to the painterly effects in GW2. As it is, I'll be modding to turn off most of pictomancer's effects, rather than feeling like a different game is trying to invade my FF14 installation whenever I'm in a party with the new caster.

I think it looks great! Job animations have become way too same-y imo. We need more unique animations like this!
