You get it from time to time at RB especially, look at DeMarco Murray who has that amazing 2014, which ended his rookie contract in Dallas. He got paid by Philly, then cut the following year. Went to Tennessee and had a bit of a resurgence before falling off in 2017 and retiring.

Super interersting to read because at first glance I wanna clown these guys for putting guys like curry lebron KD so low but thinking more about it we just had a different understanding of how players age back in 2019. The 35-38 year old at the time were Dwyane wade, Tony parker, dirk nowitzki, all had clearly lost a step or two or three lol. He’s averaging 5 and 3 coming off the bench for a bad team. He missed 2 whole seasons, and returning from an injury that likely should have ended his career. He has every change to he a valuable back-up, maybe even carve out a Shawn Livingston or Ricky Rubio type of career, but he’s unfortunately never going to be anywhere close to a top 30-50 player, now.
