Lifetime Giants Fan here. That game was incredible, hats off to the Dodgers for a well played game. Literally any other outcome than what happened Thursday night would have left me satisfied. Strike out looking down the middle. Homerun caught at the wall. Literally anything. The Giants by all accounts had a improbable season and I was just enjoying the ride like hell, but for it to be ended by a clear no swing call FOR THE ENTIRE SERIES. That's rough man. I think that the check swing call was the biggest mess up by the umpires this season just because of the fact that it was the final out in game 5 which was the ELIMINATION GAME to go to the NLCS. The weight behind that call and that out made it so much more important than a random bad call from any other point this season
@Pliskin28942 жыл бұрын
My favorite thing about the way the NLDS ended, is Dodger fans trying to justify it as "karma" for the July 22nd game. Let's compare the elimination game of a playoff series to the ending of a game from the regular season for two teams that would make the playoff either way.
@markmayate89232 жыл бұрын
The July game would have had them at a tie for the division. Imagine that ending to an already epic season 😳. Imagine that a couple of check swings could have changed everything.

thing is (and im not a dodgers fan) it would have put the dodgers in first place provided everything went the way it did, meaning the dodgers would have had home field advantage and the giants would have had to play in the wild card. it isn't karma but a couple of "checked" swings can change everything.

The Giants season ended I July when LA got Max and the Giants didn’t add pitching. At the end of the day the Giants lost because they didn’t have the arms to keep up with LA. Even look at Game Three. Yes the Giants won but LA had Max go what 7 or 8 innings meaning the pen was rested for Game s 4 & 5. That Padres vs Marlins game had Doug Eddings behind the dish. Same home plate ump in SF LA game 5. I hope he starts getting more flack because anytime you make a reaction to a poor strike call, he expands the zones on hitters. He did that to SD the whole game out of a fractured ego.
