He is getting another shot at football, not because of his talent, but, for who he knows. He wasn't any good when he was 23yrs.old,but he will be now ,and at a position that he has never played. If anyone believes that ,then they don't know anything about football, or like max is wishful hoping.

I went to UF when Tebow won the championship (along with a phenomenal team), talked to him a couple times and shook his hand, and know Tim Tebow could be a quarterback regardless of what people calculated about his throw. The NFL teams barely ever let him throw outside of third and long. How can anyone possibly say we really saw what he could contribute? He won games. He was given an opportunity to play qb and was horrible. He could not throw regardless of down and distance. In order to lead, one is usually good, or great, at their profession. Tebow is not. His claim to fame is remaining a virgin and being a Christian. There are lots of Heisman winners who could not make it in the NFL, and he is among them. Who leads from the bench?
@williamlinkous182
@williamlinkous182 3 жыл бұрын
@@earlgarcia6106 not true at all. Plenty of people with the skill don’t have the connections or opportunity. You need a lot of luck including staying off injuries to make it to the pros in almost any professional sport. And what about Colin or anyone else that kneels during the anthem?

@@jefferyporter8122 that’s bull. He was almost never allowed to throw on 1st or 2nd down. He won games and has some of the best intangible qualities that can contribute. The NFL won’t acknowledge that for whatever reason. It’s like they don’t want players winning with heart. Also, Tebow set an NFL record in his playoff WIN against Pittsburgh (where they also basically only let him throw on 3rd and long). Why hate? Did you even watch him?

@@bijouxdoum6199 Yea but Witten was an elite TE, which commands respect and allows him to lead by example even if he lost a step on the field. Players in the locker room can still look up to his work ethic and how to be a consummate professional, while his former elite play and accomplishments on the field will further cement that in their eyes. No one is trying to listen to Tebow as a leader considering he wasn’t good (I also don’t think people would listen to him as a leader because he’s corny/preachy, but that’s just my opinion). Tebow was a great leader at Florida BECAUSE he had the stats and accolades to back it up in college. He will not be a great leader in the NFL though because he simply wasn’t good. He’d have better success leading these players from a coaching standpoint as opposed to a teammate.

@@bijouxdoum6199 I agree that he can serve that role....just not as a teammate IMO. I think he’d be much better served if he did that as a coach instead. We already see some current NFL players reacting negatively to this. Regardless of whether we agree with those current players or not, the sentiment is still there. It’s tough to be an effective leader when (1) the people to be led already don’t like this situation, and (2) you have no authority or stature over those people. If Tebow were a great player, then he’d have authority and stature. But since he wasn’t great, he needs authority from somewhere else, such as the authority that is inherent in a coaching role.

@@Smirkne He was NOT a winner at the NFL level. He was a horrible quarterback. People who know how to win keep their jobs and don't try to switch careers (going to baseball, where he couldnt make the majors). He won a playoff game in the NFL and that was it. He did win in college in a team sport. If any NFL team thought he was any good, he would have never been out of the league.

@@tinaguzman8351 Yes he would want to be there even if it's practice squad and you know it. Three reasons. The hope for stardom, money, and a possible coaching future. He may hope to get the job based on his ability to play the position but it's obvious that the coach wants him to get the job. Tebow may run a 4.71 forty but he is not quick. Never was. Quick to me means stop, start, acceleration, change directions, fake, juke. You need that as a tight end. Also, hands. The ability to catch the ball. You ever see Tebow catch the ball? Point is, he may somehow be able to play tight end which I doubt but that's all he needs to demonstrate to get the job. Knowing how to play tight end is not playing tight end at the NFL level. All Tebow needs to do is show he can play tight end fundamentally. Being better at the position than the other candidates is a distant second in the coaches mind and Tebow knows it.

Let’s just face it. Tim Tebow has a level of privilege that many guys do not have. He’s been away from the game for years and when he chooses to play, he uses his connections. Nothing’s wrong with that at all. But for someone who wants the same opportunity he has, I would understand if they felt that he has privileges. And to a degree, he does.
