You’re so right, very few singers can make you feel so intensely what sing. Céline and Whitney have that extra something. Knowing they don’t write their own material makes it even more amazing and insane. We’re truly blessed those two artists share their gift to the world.

She recording this album in 1989. Since she was a french canadan artist, CBS search all songs for Celine and was difficult to searching songs for her (she didn't wrote her songs) and she already have eight years of singing career in french (her native language. This album was in majority produced by David Foster and Christopher Neil. The first half was by Christopher Neil and the second half by David Foster. ''Love Is Another Name'' and ''Have a Heart'' was the first songs she recording on this album. ''Any Other Way'' was the very last song recording on the album in end of 1989. Fact about ''Where Does My Heart Beat Now'', this song was recording in one take. After the song was finished, his manager and husband think to this song was a hit and this was today her most know song of this album. She performed this song in the convention of Sony international in Chateau Frontenac in Quebec city and everything changed after that This was the only song of this album she performed live after 1992.

I had a feeling you’d like Where Does My Heart Beat Now. Its was her first hit song in the U.S. and song that propelled her into stardom in the English speaking world. I personally love this album, some filler in the middle for sure but I loved the filler here. It was very experimental and I think with her first English album she was trying to see what worked for her in English. If you look at interviews from this period you can tell she was still getting used to speaking English regularly.

🖤🖤🖤🖤 I love this album! Its so 80s/90s. One of my fave Celine albums because its more up beat for her. Was thinking while you were listening to the Unison track, that you should check out the remix that they did for the single (its the version on the music video) because it dials it up so much its crazy, and on those parts where she goes higher on the chorus, they also leave in the lower vocals as well so it has this awesome duel effect. Its so good. I was waiting for your reaction to Love by another name hahaha. The robot voice even when I first heard it as a kid was like wtf? haha. I think that song could have stood the test of time better without those production faux pas.

@ramonpadilha998729 күн бұрын
True. Celine's covers are far more successful than the originals and people usually think it's her songs. "All by Myself", Power of Love are great examples.

If you didn't like this much then you might not like her whole discography.. Overall out of all of her songs she doesn't have many of the BIG powerful vocal songs and ballads that most people know her for.. I've been a fan of her my whole life (well since Titanic) but when I really looked into her albums I was surprised with how different most of her music was than I would've thought.. It was definitely a grower for mee.. Some songs that I hated I now love..

Track 1 is ok, but 3,4 & 9 all the way. I think 9 is my favorite, very simple and a little repetitive but engaging. Needs to be listened to on a higher volume compared to 3,4 maybe 2-4 db.s. Best Celine album is a toss up between Colour of my love ( incl my no 1 favorite only one road) and Celine Dion.

I tend to forget how great Unison the album is. I love the rock sound in most of the tracks. This album is short and sweet. Later Celine albums tend to get lenghty and have many filler tracks unfortunately.

This is a nice album but not my favorite. Her first big English hit was the song Where Does My Heart Beat Now. Her second English album called Celine Dion has some beautiful ballads including Beauty and the Beast and With This Tear(written by Prince). Btw my favorite cover of the song The Power of Love was by Laura Branigan from 1987. Maybe you can check it out sometime.

Definitely not her best album. Your graph was right on the money. They packed the best songs to the beginning (to draw you in) and the end (to leave you with a good impression) of the album. You're totally right that some of the middle-filler could have been sung by anyone. I'd suggest you give the single mix of Unison a listen. It's got a really fun 90's dance beat, and there's just more material. I think it's a pretty big step up over the album version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q2qVhJVrr8lrldksi=47knhVb4-SxUkt50

If someone has the idea that Celine Dion is a singer singing ballads, they are very wrong :) Ballads are a small percentage of her repertoire. Celine sings in 9 languages and almost every genre of music, I personally do not like her in ballads, she is much better in other genres.

You are too critical. I enjoyed the album but your reaction was depressing. And yes you were tired and shouldn't have listened to Celine. And your references to her voice she doesn't sound like that.
