It’s amazing how great she was, even sick. It was rumored that she had just gone through a miscarriage. But she still sung beautifully and angelic. This right here is why I say without any doubts that she just used her instrument for greater. She was sick. She had been touring nonstop with the Bodyguard, filmed a movie, sung another soundtrack and was able to deliver a great and funny performance on SNL. The One. The Only. The unmatched. The Queen. The Voice. (You should see her singing I Go To The Rock on here as well..she took us to church!!).

Whitney was truly one of a kind! Such control and power and smoothness, unmatched by anyone. Grew up on her music and never realized just how fortunate I was but so thankful for it! There's never been nor will there ever be another Whitney Houston!! Simply the best!!

3:48 the way she said "pride"...so full of emotion. Like she's desperately pleading. Her voice cracks...at times it sounds like she purposely places them and then there are many times it just naturally happens. Like the pain takes over as she's truly feeling the lyrics of what she's singing. It aches her. That sounded like an unintentional voice crack. At 4:22 too. After officially being 10 (10+) years in the industry, '96 is when things started to become a lot more difficult for her. And she just unfortunately didn't have time to herself to heal and rest from it all. She pushed through but it was starting to take its toll. What's so noticeable here is how she navigates through a song and adjusts. You can tell several times she couldn't quite hit a certain note, as the studio performance, and she modified! True musicianship or vocalism! And I always look forward to you pausing, rewinding and replaying a part and singing along to it when she leaves you shook! Your voice is so beautiful!
