Speaking of Marvel, did anyone hear about the runtime of Across the Spider-Verse? It's 2 hours and 20 minutes long setting a world record as the longest animated movie ever. Animated movies are usually less than 2 hours so it's really insane and unexpected we'd get a lengthy animated film like this.

My hot take: the vfx are not as bad as people make it out to be. Specifically with she hulk and ant man. People watch corridor crew and think they’re a vfx expert. Of course not everything is perfect, but I think it’s just became cool to hate it.

Another Great Video Chris!!! Apologies if I might've given you a mini heart attack with my BIGGEST MCU Hot Take on the GOTG Movies. I did not mean to do that to one of my favourite KZbinrs. I will admit I haven't seen Guardians 3 Yet but I hope it's to me what Thor Ragnarok is to a lot of people. So yeah, you could say how a lot of people feel about the Thor Movies is how I feel about the GOTG Movies. I do think Gamora is the best part of the Guardians films, and I did enjoy the Holiday Special a lot and it made me appreciate Mantis more. If you want me to go more in-depth on my thoughts with the GOTG Movies, I'd be happy to. I will say I agree with you on Moon Knight. It was a major letdown and pretty bland for me. And I'm glad you're one of those people that accepts the Ant-Man Movies for what they are. I personally have Quantumania in my top 5 MCU Movies (alongside Infinity War, Endgame, Far From Home and No Way Home) like that user whose hot take you had read out that said he/she did.

I really enjoy Love and Thunder. It’s not always funny but It’s mostly inofensive. I did have low expectations for it though so that may play into it, just kike how I had low expectations for Multiverse of Madness and loved that film.

Another great video, Chris! My two hot takes are very hot to say the least. 1. I don’t love the first Iron Man film. I think it is a little dull at times, and there isn’t a standout moment in my eyes. It’s still a fun watch, and I can see why it gets all the praise that it does. 2. Phase four is the second best phase in the MCU. Phase 1 is filled with some mediocre movies like Thor and The Incredible Hulk, and Iron Man 1 and 2 are just decent IMO. Phase 2 has some great projects, but there are some forgettable ones like Thor: The Dark World, Age of Ultron (which is still decent) and Iron Man 3 which I’m not a huge fan of. Phase four has a lot of bad projects like She-Hulk, Eternals, Thor: Love and Thunder, and even Multiverse of Madness. However, it also has Spider-Man: No Way Home, Wakanda Forever, and Shang-Chi. Not to mention the TV shows like Hawkeye, Moonknight, WandaVision, and TFATWS. Phase 4 also has Werewolf by Night and Guardians: Holiday Special which are both fun times. I understand why Phase 4 gets hate but IMO I think there’s so many good projects that it drowns out the bad. I know this was a handful, but I had to get my hot takes out 😅

It deserves it imo. It literally threw away all the character development that Thor had during Ragnarok, Infinity War and Endgame and made him into a dumb unfunny generic character in love and thunder. Endgame may have started the trend of Making Thor goofy, but imo it worked with the narrative and Thor’s mindset back then. Gorr was also very underused and didn’t even feel threatening.

I’m very confused as to where the Love And Thunder naysayers are coming from, because they act like saying Love And Thunder sucks is the common place opinion, like they’re saying it’s universally agreed on that everyone thinks it’s trash, yet they still want to shout out the fact that they hate it every chance they get, and not in a “Just expressing my opinion” kind of way, in a “Hey look at me! I’m saying something super controversial! Don’t you wanna fight me?!?” Kind of way, which bakes the question, why would you feel the need to do that if according to you everyone already hates it? And so despite these people insisting that everyone hates Love And Thunder I think deep down they don’t actually believe that, because why else would they feel the need to shove their hatred for the movie in your face every chance they get?

I don't think it's bad, I thought the action sequences were dumb, I also found the 2nd act very boring, but there's definitely good character moments, the sideplot with Rocket and Yondu was interesting, but for me it's just mediocre overall.

Here are some of my other MCU hot takes 1. Tom Holland is the best Peter Parker. Yes, when it comes to Spider-Man not as good as Tobey and Andrew. But when we're talking Peter, Tom Holland takes the W. 2. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is better than the first film. The movie is just more emotionally resonating, honors Chadwick Boseman flawlessly, and is just very powerful. Also I didn't feel the runtime as much as others did. 3. Captain Marvel is the worst MCU movie. And I mean bottom of the barrel bad on the same level as She-Hulk. 4. Far From Home is a top tier MCU movie.

4:35 I don't think Age of Ultron is too long especially when it's the shortest MCU movie I think the runtime is justified. You can't expect an Avengers movie to be under 2 hours. Honestly, the only flaw I had with AOU is Quicksilver he was done really dirty but besides Quicksilver I loved everything else in the film. Doesn't feel as impactful as the other Avengers movies though.

Winter Soldier is a darker MCU movie wjth a big spotlight on Nick Fury, Captain america and Black Widow the later two had great chemistry. The action is incredible, the themes are amazing and the villains are pretty damn great. Never forget that highway sequence god damn. I just think you dont like darker movies 🤷‍♂️ this is definitely top 5 for me and its the mcu movie id show a newcomer if i couldnt start with iron man 1. everybody says that infinity war is better than endgame, that’s not the case for me. as amazing as both iw and endgame are, i liked endgame more for certain reasons. many people say that nwh was just fan service. i strongly disagree. even if the spider assemble and old villains were the most dominant, it was perfectly written and was a very good movie. ant-man and the wasp quantumania wasn’t perfect, but it was better than multiverse of madness according to plot, villain and character, and definitely better than thor 4. it’s not the worst marvel movie, but if they made the ending more impactful, letting the villain start the dynasty, i feel this movie would get more respect. lastly, scarlet witch was a terrible villain (my opinion only). elizabeth olsen was brilliant, but the character arc was ruined completely. just killing and torturing people for two kids who already have a mom. she’s trying to justify her actions saying that no one will understand how much she’s suffered, when literally almost every mcu hero has suffered in their own ways. terrible writing and i think that she’s honestly overrated. those are four of my hot-takes…

1. Spiderman no way home is overrated and overhyped. CGI was a little wonky, aunt may's death didn't really impact as much because she already wasn't a character you cared for to begin with at the beginning of the trilogy and it overall felt more like fan service than an actual movie. Still not bad but easily the most overhyped MCU movie. 2.Captain america has the best trilogy overall for a standalone marvel character(Winter soldier and Civil war being some of the best marvel movies and first avenger being only mediocre) Compared to other trilogies like Iron man, Thor and MCU Spiderman with them having only one good movie in their trilogies. Iron man(The first one) Thor(Ragnorok) and Spiderman(NWH). 3. Marvel movies should take a darker approach when it comes to the tone of their movies. Their light hearted movies don't hit the same anymore and you spend most of the time cringing at the jokes instead of laughing at them. This was somewhat prevalent in Guardians 3 but no where near the level as thor love and thunder. Some of the best villians in the MCU were where you could sense a feeling of dread on screen. Thanos portrayed this amazingly, the winter soldier did, Ego did as well after that twist in Gaurdians vol 2 after the mountain of skulls. But there are bad villians as well that go this route like Malekith(Thor 2)and very forgettable ones like Ronan(GOTG). Gaurdians 3 was very emotional and took a different approach in guardians of the galaxy. Movies like that should be made more. Infinity war and endgame were about stopping and trying to stop and undo what thanos did, who is no joke. Those movies had the best plots in the MCU. Movies like that should be made more. Winter soldier was a very gritty and thrilling take on a superhero movie with heavily conflicting sides adding to the plot and it kept you on the edge of you seat at all costs alongside it's sequel civil war. More movies should be made like this. Point being, Marvel should make their fanbase take their movies seriously, because a crappy barrel of giggles won't cut it. 4. Marvel easily fell off after endgame and there is no movie that had peaked my interest in marvel since endgame. Sure I enjoyed some, but did it keep me hooked on what more marvel had to offer later on? Hell no. Every single marvel movie used to be connected in some way, and it would lead to other movies being backed up by incredible amounts of buildup. I loved where you could find the easter eggs in each film and connect the dots to try and pinpoint who was going to be the big bad guy or what was gonna be the plot of the final films. And after all that buildup, we end up on an incredibly satisfying note that is endgame. Nowadays, there are skrulls here and kang the conqueror there, then the TVA in loki alongside all this multiverse stuff. Maybe I haven't watched these movies and shows closely but I do not sense a single notion of build up between any of the phase 4 and 5 movies. If there is, marvel better make up for it because I do not remember this much crap coming out of the earlier MCU movies when they were starting the build up of the franchise till endgame. Just my hot takes.

Bonus: Shang-Chi was a pleasant surprise and in my top 10, Despite its storyline being everywhere Eternals was ok, I loved the 1st ant-man movie it had lots of heart and was just all around a feel good movie, iron man was the one that started it all it was ok but as a character tony is in my top 5, I loved Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 1 And 2 no words said, Spider-Man far from home was pretty good way better than homecoming.

I don’t know if this is a hot take, but I think that Zack Snyder Justice League is a little better than Endgame. Another hot take I have is that Spider-Man No Way Home is very overrated. It has plot holes galore and the writing and cgi is pretty bad. I do like that Tobey and Andrew were in the film, but the cgi on tobey ruined it for me in the final battle. They also didn’t fell like themselves from the older spiderman films. And this movie embarrassingly uses footage from other spiderman films and it is very weird. It might sound like I hate this movie but I think it’s good, not great.

NWH’s script felt like a first draft with some lazy writing and plotholes Andrew Garfield > Tobey Maguire > Tom Holland Black Panther is overrated. Wakanda Forever is much better Far From Home is my least favorite Spider-Man film of all time. The forced comedy and low stakes took me out of the movie

Hot take 1: across the spider verse is absolutely terrible (or whatever the first one is called) it’s so dull and 100% overrated. Hot take 2: tony isn’t actually that good and his “character development” was barely character development. He went from a dick, to a dick who was told in order to save the universe you’d have to sacrifice yourself. So his choice was to die, or for everyone to die including him, it’s kind of a no brainer. Hot take 3: the guardians of the galaxy movies and are all in top 10, vol 2 is the lowest, then 1 then 3. Volume 3 was the best send off any of the characters could have possibly had. They all got what they wanted and no one died unnecessarily for shock value or because of a lack of emotion. The villains was scary and I hated him with passion, it’s rated a 12 but had gore and swearing and other stuff which is great because if feel like the world is way too sensitive no a days and if people can lighten up and not be as protective of their children even if it’s as insignificant as watching a bit of blood in a film it’s progress. Also king/alpha groot looks so amazing and now rocket and groot are 100000% my favourite characters of the mcu ever. Which is surprising because I usually have a soft spot for OP characters e.g superman, batman, Thor, hulk, ghost rider, blue beetle.

Ironman 1 should not be in the top 10 MCU films. Not anymore that is. It’s a solid 2008 film that stands on its own legs, sure. But it’s no longer as interesting compared to many other MCU entries since 2008. Top 15, and that’s being generous.
