@BMB Left field hurt Mountcastle. He will be fine but definitely in the middle of the pack as far as 1b’s are concerned. Could upgrade at some point. @FortyNights Yea the O’s are on the cusp but as you see with the tigers if you put the chips in too early and you’re wrong you could enter another rebuild with bad contracts on the books. Not an ideal situation and yea Means was hurt for about 98% of the season. He may have only made a few starts.

My hot take: Giants get back to the playoffs as a wildcard team behind big seasons from Joc Pederson and Mitch Haniger who both hit at least 20 homers, a resurgent performance from Michael Conforto that earns him comeback player of the year honors, and an insane pitching staff led by Logan Webb who finishes top 5 in Cy Young voting, Tony Desclafani and Alex Wood regain 2021 form, Sean Manea has a bounce back year, Ross Stripling replicates his 2022 success, Alex Cobb has another solid year, Kyle Harrison wins NL Rookie of the Year, and a scary back end bullpen trio of the Rogers twins and a Camilo Doval who makes the all star team and records 30+ saves with a sub 2 era and is a serious contender for NL reliever of the year.

Robbie Ray has won a Cy Young already, Castillo has shown flashes of dominance and just needs to put it together for a full season, Kirby has true ace stuff, and Logan isn't half bad himself. Mariners were 3 pitches from beating Houston. They would have beaten the Yankees, I'm sure of that. So the only question was really could they beat the Phillies and that's a strong possibly. Are all 3 of these things together super likely to happen? No, but it's possible they could and there's an even better possibility for any 1 of the 3 to happen. My money would be on Julio winning MVP if he goes 40-40

@@sen6728 the Musgrove loss was pretty big, but I think the Padres are going to be like last years Phil’s, (where the Phillies offense masks their defense/ pitching, which was enough to get them in the dance). In this case the Padres Offense is better than last years Phil’s offense. In terms of competition, The dodgers probably won’t win the division, but will be good enough to compete, I’m not sure what the Giants are going to look like and I think the Diamondbacks are going to be a sneaky wild card team this year. Those are the three teams they need to really compete with to make the playoffs, not the Jays, Marlins or WhiteSox.

My two hot takes are that the Dodgers finish second behind San Diego this season, and Ohtani goes to Seattle in 2024. First, the Dodgers have a lot of question marks outside of Gonsolin and Urias in the rotation without Buehler for the yr, plus a questionable bullpen, while not doing much to replace the guys that left, likely for a run at Ohtani while the Padres did a lot to improve and are getting Tatis back. As for Seattle getting Ohtani, they have a history of Japanese stars playing there (Ichiro, Sasaki and Iwakuma), they have money to spend, and they're contenders in a wets coast city.

Dodgers bullpen is always good. And they have plenty of starting pitching depth. Thor is solid, Kershaw is still elite, and they have Dustin May in the back end who can he elite. They also have tons of guys in the minors that’ll be ready like Pepiot, Miller, Stone, and Grove
