I view best actress/actor similar to MVP in the NFL. Being in a good movie/team makes it a lot easier for you. But I don’t think a great performance in a bad movie should be overlooked.

Its English-language bits serve that tension, rather than testing Academy rules to attract votes. (I mean, _Anatomy of a Fall_ is certainly a masterpiece and all, top 5 for 2023, but I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that its within-limits English-language dialogue helped attract more views and thus votes.)

1. I personally feel like the substance will get nominated for best pictures since it has gotten so much attention after the Cannes film festival with many different nominations most commonly best actress, supporting actress, make up and hairstyling, and probably production design. 2. I know Civil War has a lower chance of getting any nominations but the most rooting category I feel like Civil War would get would be cinematography. I can see why it would get nominations for sound, but I feel like Civil War would mostly get nominated for cinematography because the shots in the movie are really eerie and beautiful. 3. Despite the wild robot of being animated and the last time an animated was nominated for best picture was in 2011 for Toy story 3 I have a feeling that it will get nominated for best picture with other different types of categories like ad adapted screenplay of course original score and maybe visual effects but I doubt it because we all know how the academy is.

Ebert argued that great performances in bad films were exactly the types of performances that should win Oscars. They rose above the badness, and that's worth recognition. There's no reason to take it out on the acting or music or cinematography just b/c a film doesn't work well. Your Wicked takes are vile, as expected.

Here's my awards hot take, although it's not the Oscars but rather the Golden Globes Where the fuck is all that "Glen Powell (Hit Man) is going to win best actor in a comedy/musical" coming from? Maybe he could win, who knows? I loved Glenn Powell's performance in Hit Man but I'm having a hard time imagining this win happening. My somewhat hot take: A Real Pain's screenplay is way better than Anora's, and Anora doesn't deserve to win Best Original Screenplay. The thermonuclear version of that same take: Anora's writing is just okay, and it winning Best Original Screenplay over A Real Pain would be the 2020s equivalent of Tom Hooper winning Best Director over David Fincher.
