I don't understamd how pjsk can be considered kid-friendly... I mean, you've got songs like pomp and circumstance, romeo and cinderella, mind brand, gehenna, etc. Not to mention that it has 4 F-bombs, which would normally shoot the age rating through the roof. Also, it's not just Niigo who has darker themes (For example, honami admits to have wanted to "disapear" before). And vocaloid in general has many, many not child-friendly songs, really I feel like the people making the age rating just saw it was colouful and cute, and decided it must be kid-friendly. (I don't necessarily think it's bad or anything, it just feels a little perculiar.) (Also, yes, I agree it can really help people seeing characters going through similar problems they went through, it has brought me lots of comfort to see characters like Mizuki and Mafuyu and has helped me)

Exactly! The vocaloid songs in the game alone would make the game not suitable for children. Again it reinforces that the game is for teens and above who do have more critical thinking skills. Glad to hear that seeing some of those stories have brought you some comfort. It's important to be exposed to characters and stories like that as a teen.

A personal hot take of my own; I've always found Ruikasa to be a boring ship. At first I didn't really understand why, but they just seemed boring to me. Recently I watched a video from another pjsk creator sharing peoples hot takes and he actually brought up a point that explains it perfectly. Basically, there's this theory you could call the "yaoi theory" in which a lot of fictional media creators will intentionally make a character dynamic between two male characters where one is loud and boisterous while the other is mysterious and sly. The reason they do this is because they know that fandoms depend on shipping content and mlm ships are always the most popular with fans. The boisterous x mysterious dynamic seems to attract a lot of toxic "fujoshis," and the more toxic shippers the more attention the fandom receives, and the more attention the fandom receives the more they will profit. Ruikasa undoubtedly falls under this category. Another example of a ship from a fandom I'm familiar with myself that also falls into this trope is Konahina from SDR2, Just to clarify, I don't have a problem with anyone who likes ruikasa and I don't harass them, this is just my reason for being uninterested in their dynamic.

I think pjsk is a very amazing written game,they make the characters realistic,luke mafuyu healing herself from the trauma, toya keeping secrets from his dad because hes strict, Akito is probably the best written character! the anhane take was so wild and as a true aibou/partner truther i will not tolerate this hate, i mean obviously im not saying that everyone in the world should ship them as a romantic pair, what ticks me off is that op just melts down their relationship of being "just two people from the same unit" when there's clearly more to that. honestly its the thing with vivid bad squad itself, two duos forming a squad of four people. Some people seem to be in denial on their relationships, partners to them arent just a mere singing partner, its something way stronger and intimate. And even if you refuse to see this relationship in a romantic light you cant deny their closeness. @numberoneakianfan how so? Vivid BAD SQUAD is comprised of two pairs the Bad Dogs (Toya and Akito) and the Vivids (An and Kohane). That is very much established in the main story, as well as the event stories. An/Kohane and Toya/Akito constantly referring to each other as partners couldn’t make things more obvious as well. Whether their relationship is entirely platonic or people want to interpret it as romantic in their headships, those two pairs have been established by Project Sekai since the beginning of the game.

​@teapjsk I'd say it's pretty obvious compared to other ships lmao in akito's card side story, rui asks akito to play as the bride while toya acts out a proposal in toya's birthday show, toya thanks akito for choosing him as his partner, to which akito gets flustered but says "whatever, right back at ya". an and miku then tease him about blushing at Toya this happens on several occasions like akito's 4☆ side story for the nocturnal interlude event, the utsuru wo aogu event (I forgot the name of it) and a couple other times. akito feels like he can let loose and enjoy things more often, toya says that he'd be looking forward to seeing that side of akito. akito blushes then gets a silly little devious grin, then goes really close to toya. it's hard to tell with pjsk models but it was likely a hug I just thought this moment was cute n silly akito is canonically protective over toya, getting jealous of how close tsukasa is to him and doesn't want rui to treat him like a guinea pig. toya is the only character akito is genuinely soft and affectionate with and a lesser and I mean LESSER known fact is akito chose to go to kamiyama in the first place because of toya. you don't have to like akitoya but they have so many cute moments compared to other ships it's crazy

​​​​@teapjskas for anhane, an's entire character arc mainly revolves around kohane. she is worried about kohane eventually leaving for another partner, but she wants to be strong for her so she holds back her feelings until in the whip the wimp girl event. this is a repeated cycle in an's stories, with nagi and kohane. like in ur community post, I don't think it's meant to be taken literally how an and kohane treat eachother but I think why an is so affectionate to kohane is likely because of her afraid of leaving her so she showers her with praise as a way of "bribing" her, begging her to stay because she knows words of affirmation are what a shy girl like kohane needs, as a way to "secure" her position as her partner. at first, she was genuinely encouraging towards kohane, but she got scared of her surpassing her and moving onto another partner who would be worth more than An. she wants to be the one who supports kohane the most, so that she'll rely on her and not think about choosing another partner. eventually she gains a burst of confidence, so she challenges her to a battle and later her affection turns into something more genuine because she knows kohane will stay. they also have alot of fluffy moments but I don't wanna mention them because there are just too many and honestly, I also got sick of their fluffy moments. fluffy moments alone make it feel like it's being forced down my throat. I prefer ships that go DEEP like angsty and stuff, so for the first few years I didn't like anhane. but in the newer events, they finally gained that extra spice, the extra push to actually make me like the ship with them having a rivalry dynamic kind of, but still sharing the affection they had for eachother before

The whole event literally revolved around An's mixed feelings towards Kohane. Despite Kohane not fully understanding An's frustrations and jealousy, she was still there for An as her partner pushing her to grow as a singer.

I dont understand why people think there's going to be a new group soon or whatnot. The game is going into its 4th anniversary and if they wanted to make a new group, they wouldn't just not announce it (if they actually were going to release it very soon). In my opinion, they would probably announce it a long time before its actually released (like half a year before or something, idk how they actually work) so people starting talking about a "new group very soon" or something like that us probably very unlikely for now. (I have no idea how stuff like this works, I might be completely wrong or something, but this is my guess so dont judge me...)

They don’t tease other groups when they’ve introduced them in other idol franchises, they’ve been added to the franchises when they’ve wrapped up with “season 1” of the story arc which Project Sekai is in that position right now. Vivid BAD SQUAD and Leo/need have wrapped up their first story arc, we’re just waiting for the other units to wrap up as well. It would really help being familiar with idol franchises to see how new units get integrated.

Re the thing about song difficulty levels: The difference with Master vs Expert of the same level is that Master often adds new tech (meaning ways to tap/tap patterns) and are often way more suited to using your pointer finger/multi finger over thumbs. The curve between hold notes in particular is really really steep between Master and Expert and requires a lot more precision, whereas you can cheese this on a lot of Expert songs if you really know what you're doing. I do agree there's definitely inconsistancies, the amount of 25s/26s I still struggle with on Expert is a testament to that, but there Is a notable difference in why some Expert stuff feels worse than the Masters of the same level and a lot of it has to do with stamina over actual tech/tap pattern difficulty

They should really put tech diff on higher difficulty. Tech is much harder to learn than tapping in a faster bmp and speed is something you can learn naturally by just playing game overtime but tech you have to actively learn. Of course there are nuances and people perception of a chart is different. Up until I learn how to sight read constant stream of notes, HCM, Intense Voice of HM, Disappearance of HM were basically impossible to clear for me, but I can clear other Expert 28, 30 just fine. The differences between Expert and Master is, in Expert there is trust between the player and charter to: - use 3 wide notes everywhere and only change it to match the song volume - easy to read patterns, no overlapping notes - flick notes always goes with the portion of the screen they are in, like if a flick on the right side of the screen it's should either be an up flick or a right flick but never left. The exception is flick at the end of slides should go in the direct the slide going - using notes to shift where the player need to focus on. Master charts often just jump from one side to another. - have a small of break after each flick These "rules" doesn't hold true for Expert 29+ of course. Master just throw all of that in the air that why they're often harder than Expert of the same level. There're also many of these rule for Hard charts.

Hello! Teen puroseka fan here, yeah there's a portion of us that is just annoying. Hell I even find them annoying. But I'm also a VOCALOID fan (before I knew of pjsk). I love puroseka with all my heart and I love having characters I relate too. Also my favourite VOCALOID is Meiko and galaco. The older songs are amazing and I have a horrible addicition to megamix+. So the history is constantly repeating itself.

I kind of disagree with the take that l/n is not underrated. It. definitely is, alongside mmj. Just because you frequently see fans does not mean it's not underrated, It's quite obvious that the fandom heavily prefers the other units, and if my word isn't enough AO3 can convince you. If you’re basing this on fan made content, then there just needs to be more fans of Leo/need and MORE MORE JUMP! making edits and AO3 fanfics. If the content doesn’t exist there’s always room for fans to create that content. In terms of how each unit gets treated by Sega/Colorful Palette, I think they put a lot of love and care into every unit. All units have commissioned songs by top vocaloid producers, get beautiful card artwork, and have very talented voice actors. I think in that regard they’re not underrated, I do think they’re under appreciated by the fandom though.

I acknowledge that the mvs have to be compatible with the virtual lives and such, but it just gets kind of boring just seeing them dance and have artificial/coreographed interactions on the mvs, and i would love to see more interactions with the camera (like the leo/need and mmj wl cuts), interactions with the scenario (like the vs and niigo wl cuts and Tsukasa playing a videogame in chigau!!!), seeing the characters behave more naturally (like miku watching niigo walk away from her in it was a very beautiful june, Tsukasa playing an invisible guitar in chigau!!! and mizuki approaching and talking to ena off camera during envy baby) and just see them experiment more with layers and cuts (like luka in the frame at the start of living millenium, Shizuku being inside a drop in I am we are and the amazing drop dead gorgeous cutscene art and lighting in heat abnormal) - of course i love the mvs regardless, and i do know some of them are really creative cough cough heat abnormal cough but i would love to see it more. It would be fun to see characters looking into mirrors, sitting in thrones and chairs, playing instruments (not leo/need, i mean characters who canonically play instruments, like Tsukasa and Kanade) or even swapping outfits, like in some project Diva mvs (online game addicts sprechchor, catch the wave for example) !!

MEIKO and luka are my favorite vocaloids ever, and probably my favorite characters up to day. they mean a lot to me and yes, being realistic, their voicebanks its usage in the game are very unfortunate (although im on the side of anon who said proseka's tuning isnt even that bad), but its so discouraging to see so much hate for them both. they're amazing characters with beautiful designs and characteristic voices and i wish people didnt look over them, they've always been the least famous of the cryptonloids bunch. at the very least they have a consistent fanbase, even if we're few ❤

HIII I’m a teen proseka fan, when it came out, I refused to play because as a “og” (if I can call me like that) vocaloid fan, I thought it would destroy the vocaloid fandom, it kinda does but I ended up playing 1-2 years after since I found it cool and the introduction was entertaining. Yeah, I’m still puzzled about how the commission songs work. I do think at the beginning the producers were using a beta version of the SP voice banks. Supposedly Mitchie M also used it for Newly Edgy Idols but he actually made them sound so good. There have been some songs where the V3 voice banks are used instead, like Kirapipi Kirapika where Nyanyannya used his signature MEIKO tuning.

I definitely agree with the inconsistency with leveling. I'm a newer player (I began in March) and I still play on hard mode and I swear, level 18 songs are either the easiest to FC or extremely difficult to FC.

Even in hard there are so many inconsistencies. Some of the more recent lvl 24 hard songs are easier to FC than the lvl 22 like The End of Hatsune Miku. It's crazy.

From experience, I think I can explain some of the inconsistencies. As you gets better at the game, the gap between each level grow exponentially smaller, making it difficult to differentiate between easy levels. Like if you can only clear levels under 20, then the difficulty gap between 20 and 21 feels huge but if you can already clear 30+ levels, a gap between 20 and 21 feels really close. Of course, Sega aint gonna hire 37 players from different skill levels to play test a chart.

the difficulty rating made somewhat sense for me. and then i tried masters. why the fuck is there such LARGE gap between 27 experts and 27 masters(number is just example)?? you would expect the masters to be much harder but nooo, i cant even get to close clearing 27 experts but masters,no problem, can maybe get even sub 10 CBs on them. i have no idea if they are using an algorithm or hand picking the numbers,and what criteria do they use to determine it. clearing? I’m like 50/50 on a new unit. This is mainly because I have grown to love and adore all of the characters and their stories. I feel that new characters would either suffer from less time being put into them or the preexisting groups would have attention diverted from them. It’s a slippery slope that I feel could be executed poorly. Now an Idea is to allow NPC’s to get a glow up, allowing them to become playable and have more in game interactions with the characters would allow them to grow both individually and make sure that none of the other groups lose the limelight. Again personally I don’t really want a new unit BUT I don’t want to stop playing the game if they decide to add completely new and original characters.

My hot take is that BanG Dream's story-telling method is better than Colorful Stage's. Other than the formation of groups, ALL the important story beats are exclusive to the events. It makes vastly more sense to just... let the main groups have multiple main stories and let the events stay fun. The events can have some more deep lore still, just not ALL of it. I also would've liked to see a main story with all the groups like a lot of other rhythm games have, but that ship has sailed and sunk. Also, they should add a new group, Colorful Stage dosen't have a massive cast like Ensemble Stars, it stands to reason that there can be a new group (maybe an excuse to finally have a main story between groups where the original cast helps the new group get on their feet or something with the Sekais) but this is all just because I want a group with mostly jazz music and nothing else

Yeah, it is odd that they didn't really have a main story with all the groups or they might be waiting to do that. With the World Link events, they have implied that the new portals could transport the unit members to the other Sekais. We'll see what they do but yeah, this game certainly has the space to introduce at least one new unit. A jazz music unit would also be so cool!

Here's a gotcha game that looks like a kids' game but is technically for adults: Pokemon GO. While it has free-to-play functions for kids and nonspending people, it's literally gotcha in terms of buy-to-luck roll in shinies, rarity, and stats. And paying to surpass daily limits. Recently had a brand new event where two kids were being very vocal and were losing it because they just weren't the target player. It was also the very first time for everyone and the developers had to make adjustments after the feedback from that weekend for the future.

Some pjsk fans need to realise people have opinions and these opinions might differ from thems and that is COMPLETELY FINE. Mafumum was a very well written character. I, IN NO WAY, SUPPORT HER ACTIONS, but the way she is written is incredible. Also, there might be some character development, as every story has a start, a climax and a resolution... sometimes. My (maybe) hot takes 1. The new MMJ outfits feel so off! I don't mind the matching action since it makes the group look more cohesive, but why did they choose teal??? While Shizuku feels fine Haruka's accent blue gets completely washed out and Airi and Minori feel put of place. I would've rather they used their individual colors for the skirts (Orange,Blue,Pink and Teal) or used the designs from theat one Minori card, or if they wanted to keep the cohesion, choose a different color, maybe white for the angel motif from the beginning or green for the clover motif they have. 2. People undervalue Kanade so much! Mafuyu and Mizuki's fans are pretty vocal (rightly so) and Ena has a cult following, Kanade feels like the 4th member that's just there, more respect to my girl :(. 3. Tsukasa NEEDS more interaction with the other leaders, I don't read many stories but I've seen videos of Tsukasa's and it seems like he dosen't interact with the other leaders as much as the others. I know that Ichika, Minori and Kohane are friends and I think Kanade and Ichika are too but Tsukasa feels left in the dust. What's more funny is that he has connection that can make them meet. Ichika- Through Saki Minori- Saki to Shiho then to Shizuku Kohane- Through either Toya or Akito Kanade- Through either Mizuki or from Ena via Akito. Pls colorful pallet I wanna see Tsukasa and Minori dancing on stage together or Tsukasa and Kanade chilling out together with Rui and Mafuyu (double date :D) pls

They unfortunately can't since Gumi, Teto, and other vocaloids are not owned by Crypton. The songs are in the game because they work the licensing rights with the producers, not the companies that own the voice bank and the character rights.

I only have two ships in the whole game; KAIMEI and Anhane. For me, Anhane is a pretty obivous couple and they are overall cute together

This is less of a hot take and more of something that surprised me. There are quite a lot of project Sekai OC’s online. Art about OC units and stuff. Or art about OC’s in other units. But I’m genuinely surprised there aren’t KZbin fan projects (like in a similar vain to danganronpa fangames) going around about OC units I’ve looked on AO3 before and only could find one story about an OC unit (it might have changed since) Still it’s surprising because project Sekai is not only popular but the way the game’s plot and stories are structured makes it a perfect game to make fan works with groups of OC’s instead of having it relate back to canon characters.

hot take! the game fandom was WAY better in 2020-2022 i think in 2023 as soon as 2023 started the fandom like had some big downfall?? i dunno but when i joined in 2022 the fandom was way chiller then now from what i remember ALSO made to order is like the best leo need commission ever and ONE OF the best commissions

don't know how hot this take is since i don't engage with this fandom much but some of yall are way too negative. some proseka fans seem to complain about literally everything. it's always "this cover sucks" and "i don't like (insert character here)" instead of actually appreciating the game/songs/characters... people are allowed to constructively criticize things but that's rarely what happens. i get that negativity gets more clicks and attention and all but come on!!!
