This was the album that got me into Metallica as a kid so it will always have a special place in my heart. Definitely check out the rest of the album. That Was Just Your Life, The Day That Never Comes, and Broken, Beat & Scarred are probably my favorites that you haven’t done yet

This album and subsequent tour was a huge deal for me since it was the first album they dropped since I had discovered them around about 2005. It sealed the deal for a kid who was already a die hard. Then I attended 2 shows on the world magnetic tour and was at the show sadly where young Morgan Harrington was kidnapped where she would be then be taken to her death. What a sad and shocking story and it showed me for the first time the hearts of gold Metallica has bc they helped with the case any way they could. Offered rewards and made announcements for leads. And the killer was eventually caught in 2014. Rock n Roll True Stories does a great little mini doc about it.

I was introduced to Metallica as a kid in 1986. My first and only impression to anything they put out is, "Buckle up".

Dave, I am glad you are enjoying a lot of songs off Death Magnetic. It really is a good album of theirs and redeems them from St. Anger in a big way.
@shryggur3 жыл бұрын
Still love St. Anger, tbh. It is what it is - the mood of things breaking apart. Super angsty
@purplebeard15263 жыл бұрын
@@shryggur Almost every song on it feels "almost there" and then there is that terrible chime on the drums. The crazy thing is, the album title is probably one of their best. Granted, that Some Kind of Monster movie did kind of give insight into what was going on in the making of the album, so it was probably as good as it could have been considering all the things going on in the background they had to work through.

The title of the song "Judas Kiss" refers to the kiss Judas gave Jesus on the cheek to show the Roman guards who to arrest. In a way, it was his final act of mocking betrayal against Jesus before his crucifixion Yet another cool bible reference from Metallica

Dude I have loved Metallica since the 80s and have always been able to resonate with James’ lyrics and the music but man you take it to a whole new level! Great perception on your part! I hope Metallica sees your videos at some point! I think they would truly appreciate your support interpretations of their music!

I would LOVE for them to see my reactions. But there are bigger channels that get way more attention than mines so it probably won’t happen till I’m in the hundreds of thousands of subs. On my first channel before it was hacked. My Metallica vids got ALOT of attention, now I’m lucky to get 1k viewes in a decent amount time for KZbin to keep suggesting it to people.

fun fact, they decided to record this whole album live in the room as apposed to tracking each instrument/vocal separately and mixing them together in post. Meaning that the song you hear was the best take of many with the whole band playing it together. Very nerve racking because you could have a near perfect take and then a boo boo towards the end and have to start over! The payoff is a more energetic sound with the members jamming together live -but in a controlled studio setting compared to an acoustic nightmare like an arena or outdoor venue, etc
@jamesgarrett46533 жыл бұрын
Watch the making of Death Magnetic on Metallica’s KZbin channel. What you said is not true, they recorded by tracking many many parts of this album. An amazing album though! And an entertaining hour+ watching them create each song

When Judas betrayed Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane, he told the Sanhedrin that they would know who Jesus was because he would greet him with a kiss. Luke 22:48- But Jesus sit unto him, “ Judas betrayeth thou the Son of Man with a kiss?”

Old Metallica trying to sound like young Metallica, garbage imo, sounds like they're just trying to force it or something, when they were young it just came natural, early to mid 80s Metallica were some of the most aggressive brutal heavy metal around, but late 80s they got a little taste of popularity and haven't been the same since, in my opinion this band died with Cliff Burton in 1986.I really think they should've quit or changed the name of the band after Cliff died like Led Zeppelin did when Bonzo died. Those first 3 Metallica albums are the greatest heavy metal ever created in my opinion.

Keep quiet and go cry somewhere else. Metallica might not be best as compared to 80s, but still James & Lars are able to arrange good songs

Not crazy about this one..it's long and the parts are copied and pasted...it's a bad arrangement imo ..which is rare for Metallica.. Lyrics are good, no surprise
