Whats funny , Before Snell signed with the Giants last year. He was looking for a long term deal and no one wanted to offer him the contract. Even the 182 mill right now. Teams didn’t wanna give it to him but all of a sudden Dodgers said ok we’ll give u a long term contract. Everyone is up and arms about it. There were plenty of times other Teams could have signed him but they didn’t...Also, Deffered contract is not exclusive to Dodgers. All MLB teams can do the same,. Actaully deffered contracts has been happening for more than 30 yrs. that's why there was the Bobby Bonilla contract.

This is a perfect example of how a salary cap is needed in MLB, not the laughable luxury tax they think creates competition. In a couple years, all there will be is 4-5 All Star teams, and then a bunch of AAA and AA teams. The disparity between the top payrolls and the bottom payrolls is already out of control. Huge props to the Orioles and Guardians for being competitive with sub $100 million payrolls, which is proof you don't have to pay nearly $50 million for a DH (which is what the Dodgers paid for Ohtani's services this year when you include the luxury tax). The deferred money and luxury tax system has created a lopsided league that has several teams that will implode once their piles of deferred contracts all cash in at once. It will be a mega- Bobby Bonilla day for teams like the Dodgers, and their fans will have astronomical, super bowl level ticket prices in the future.

Success is about literally doing anything as possible to win championships. It's not just money alone. It's also about having better roster that any team can possibly have, better coaching, better owners, better General Managers, better pitching, better offense and defense, better mentality, including discipline, especially going through adversities, etc. All of that is exactly who the dodgers are, and that's why they are looking to win as many championships as possible. Similar but not identical to the nba team called the Celtics, and also the nfl team called the chiefs. Enough of having temper tantrum problems!
