I've seen several reactors say very similar regarding not really thinking they'd like Avatar.. but quickly warming up to them. They have a way about them & with their music! Most reactors I've seen started their Avatar journey with this song, so it's cool that you've come to it a bit later. There's some deep meaning to this song & video (think along the lines of concentration camps). Great reaction. 🤘

I figured there was probably a deep meaning to the song but I'm definitely not great with symbolism :) Thank you! Definitely a fun band with lots of great songs!

Also, after checking to make sure on the Avatar reactions thus far, I'd highly recommend some Live performances, where they shine even brighter & you get to see just what a phenomenal front man Johannes is. I'd suggest: Smells Like a Freakshow at Waken; The King Welcomes You to Avatar Country @ Po'land Rock; Puppet Show at Alcatraz; Napalm from their virtual 'Ages' concert as well as Regret/House of Eternal Hunt from the same concert series. Non-live recommendation: So Sang the Hollow, The King's Harvest, Construction of Souls.. and a 'must' (or pretty please, lol) is one no one reacts to.. their in-car 'performance' of Tsar Bomba on the Freq's channel.

Holy Smokes dude! Their Freqs video of Tsar Bomba is so goddang 100% accurate of their studio version. Johannes is potentially one of the best live/studio vocalists of this Era (no pun intended for the well informed) for metal. Willing to argue for this, and open minded about it.

Avatar is not a "go to" band for me, but I do enjoy most of their work. I really like how they use the soft introduction and interludes to build tension, something too many bands ignore with just a constant hard pounding sound. great lyrics and story in this song.

Yep, this one is the favorite fan's choice. Also popular - Hail the Apocalypse and The Eagle has Landed. And rising star The Dirt I'm Buried In. This is a song about the NKVD (People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs; later known as KGB), how they sentenced millions to be executed or sent to Siberia to labour camps. (Country in ruins after WW II, need work hands and need it FREE. In video slightly jump the shark.) "Bloody angel" is a NKVD officer who just approved one death of an serious "public enemy" after another. And the frontman of Avatar embodies the demon who haunts him in his mind. Forest and the dog just constant dream. By the way, I also saw a bloody handprint in the Schlacht and So Sang the Hollow. And as Johannes Eckerstrom said, ‘Bloody Angel’ is about shame and guilt. You look around and watch all the suffering and while you search for someone or something to blame, you end up in front of a mirror. Everything you touch, you break. Everyone you try to save you hurt and push further away. It is a sad reality of being alive, the fact that the closer you get, the more pain you risk inflicting. You try to stay in the light, spread your wings and aim for the sun. But your eyes and hands are covered in blood and you hit the ground, dragging everything that matters with you. The riff is pretty cool too." Interesting fact: Johan Carlen was inspired by Dogville and Manderlаy by Lars von Trier when building the scenery for the clip. For the first time, the band shoots their play separately. Just on a black backdrop. Filmed at the beginning of April 2014, by the way. I have a theory about connection Bloody Angel with Smells like a Freakshow. In the first, Something is wrong with this world, in the second, There's something wrong with me. But in general, nothing changes! Both the mind and the environment of the lyrical hero are abnormal.
