The word you were looking for to describe how Su looked here .... "Regal", she is metal royalty and rules the stage and the whole auditorium and is called the Queen for that reason. When you consider she was still just 16 here - and her voice has only continued to improve (who knew that was even possible) in the 6 years since. She talked in a recent interview about moving and dancing while recording songs in the studio so she could get her breathing right and work out what she would do and how she would sing the songs in shows with the choreo and about using different breathing techniques when performing songs in locations at high altitude. She is unbelievably professional and has been mastering her craft now for many years. Incredible to think she is still only 22.

Su is intense. She is only 16 here. She will be scary good when she comes into her voice fully seven or eight years from now. The song is Akatsuki, pronounced Akat'ski, the "u" is silent. "u" after an "s" are often silent in Japanese, which is why it is Su-metal, to queue you to pronounce the "u" The "Alatsuki Da!" at the start is to honor X-Japan, where their singer shouts "Kurenai Da!" at the start of that song

Red Night and Black Night are both available on iTunes for $ 15.99 each.. well worth it. Several other live concerts available there too. Although I've been listening to Babymetal for years, and I do have their 3 albums, I find myself watching the videos much more often than listening to the CDs. They shine in their live shows, and that adds so much more to the music itself.

What makes her voice so outstanding compared to most other singers are the emotions it carries. Even back in Sakura Gakuin i recognized always when she sang, cuz the others sang just fine, but the Queen has something special in her voice that always produces goosebumps. And simultaneously you can see exactly those emotions in her face. Not many singers have that- just my opinion.

Su yells the name of the song at 1:38. Akatsuki da!!! Ah Khat Ski well more accurately.. A Ka Tsu Ki but the tsu and ki run together as one syllable. There are versions of this song that involve choreographed fight scenes so it's a lot of fun to watch. Plus Su's voice is so good.

That look, is what fans call with a bit of tongue-in-cheek, the Su-metal death stare. :-) The stage actually has (almost) 360 degrees audience around it, the concert is at Budokan (was both a Red and a Black night). Budokan is a martial arts ring. A famous venue in Japan. Think of something like: Madison Square Garden.

The Budokan bluray is the first one I bought, it's an absolutely amazing show and it's one of the cheapest BABYMETAL blurays you can get. I think most people would say the Tokyo Dome show would be their favorite bluray, but it's pretty expensive. One I would absolutely recommend would be "Legend - S" which is Su's 20th birthday show in her hometown Hiroshima. It's super cheap on itunes and the google play store as a digital download. Absolutely fantastic show, however this is when Yui went missing, so it's only Su and Moa. Wait until you react to all the songs from the first two albums though because they play (almost?) all of them. Anyways, "Akatsuki" is pronounced like: ah-kaht-ski. You can hear Su scream it at the beginning right when the guitars kick in: "Akatsuki da!" This is such a sad song about teenage love lost, but this version is so upbeat I'm conflicted. I dont have any cd players anymore either, but you can get all their albums in just asbout any digital music store/format and just download strait to computer or phone. I dont really buy music anymore with youtube having almost anything I listen too, but for them it was worth tossing the little cheese it cost to help support... Being they are the only new music in the last decade that had gained my attention enough to motivate me enough to actually pay for the tracks.

I can see you appreciate Su's strength of voice but she was only 16 here and is even better now, 6 years on. Su has some great solo songs and it's great that she gets to do them and that Yui and Moa got to do their duets too. Remarkable performance about lost/damaged (but still existing) love with anger at the pain and tears that never go away - perhaps symbolized by the blood red moon representing eyes red from sorrow. And without knowing any of this, you react at the climax where she holds out her pinky after saying 'kizuna' symbolizing lovers who are forever tied by an invisible thread attached to this finger. Consummate peformer... at 5:25 she uncharacteristically switches her mic to her right hand - because there's a problem with her earpiece - adjusts the earpiece, switches the mic back, and within all of 12 seconds perfectly nails the most critical moment in the entire song.
