Welcome back and a great reaction to a great song and a great performance. This was a special one, it was Legend M - Moa's 20th birthday celebration. For this song they went with just Su, Moa and the acoustic guitar on stage. It is hard not to believe this was a tribute to Kami Band guitarist Mikio Fujioka (RIP) - the guitar Moa was playing (or maybe she pre-recorded that, I think she said she wasn't confident enough to play it live) was either one of Mikio's or one that was the same model or very similar to one of his. 'Shine' is the second song in the Trilogy of Lights and it is about accepting and coming to terms with the loss of somebody very close. The way they turn and walk away from the guitar and stage at the end may even emphasise the meaning of the song. In my opinion this may be Su's best vocal performance to date (it is definitely right up there anyway) and Moa's harmonies and the emotion in her dance just makes it even more special. I'm not surprised this is your (current) favourite song by them ... it is right up among my absolute favourites and I have all the songs they have released to choose from, not just the 4 you have heard so far.

IMO, this performance is the epitome of Babymetal's "soul". In an interview, Su said, while they were not holding hands exiting the stage, they were connected heart-to-heart. They have such a strong bond and love for each other. This performance shows that in all its splendor. Moa mentioned in a different interview that no one truly understands the nature of their relationship.

I agree 100%. This song truly IS the soul of Babymetal. I love everything about this song. It makes me happy and sad at the same time. This is IMO one of, if not their best song that portrays their essence. Thank you for another great reaction!

Once you've heard all the songs these girls have made, like most of us in the comments have, you will realise just how consistently epic they are. For me they are one of very very few bands who have never made a poor song. Emotionally they will take you on a rollercoaster ride and technically they are second to none. Sumetals voice oozes emotion and even without understanding a single word she sings , she can make you smile or make you cry. Enjoy your journey through the foxhole my friend. Kitsunes up. 🦊🦊💥🦊🦊

BabyMetal not only have cute songs, heavy songs, they also have beautiful songs. The more BabyMetal videos you react to, the more metal songs you'll find with different feelings. And those are just part of BabyMetal. Until now, even fans don't know what BabyMetal is all about.

⚡ 💕 / 🌟 ✨ 'Shine' had its world debut at the 'BABYMETAL ARISES - BEYOND THE MOON - LEGEND - M -' concert on July 6th, 2019. This footage is probably from the next night's show. These two concerts at Portmesse Nagoya, in Aichi Prefecture, celebrated Moa's 20th birthday in her home town. The 20th is a very special birthday in Japan, and is the traditional age of adulthood. This is the only time the song was performed with just the two remaining BABYMETAL members, Su and Moa, without a supporting dancer ("avenger") in the third position. All of the other songs had a supporting dancer on stage. They had Riho Sayashi on the first night, and Kano Fujihira on the second night. The third avenger, Momoko Okazaki, had her first show with BABYMETAL about a month later.

The guitar is said to be one of the Kami's guitarist, Mikio, who unfortunately died in January 2018 after an accident while stargazing. To date, there is no official confirmation but also no denial that this song is dedicated to him. Whether intentional or not, with the way this song is written and performed by the two of them, and the symbolic nature of this performance in particular, for me this is one of BM's most beautiful and emotional songs. ✨ _____________________ 「 _'Our rock never dies ever. When I got into Japanese music 6 months ago, I made the mistake of watching the top videos on Babymetal's channel and deciding they weren't for me based off of that. With their Budokan performance of Rondo of Nightmare, and now this, I'm seriously reevaluating them now.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。As Grington300 300 commented below, this must be a tribute to Mikio, the late guitarist of Kami Band (RIP). The choreo with only Su & Moa was very special because they two went through the sorrowful experience (and Kamis in the back did, as well). When Su & Moa left the stage, they were looking forward with the precious memory of Mikio and gratitude toward him, I believe. FYI, Kanami of your favorite Band-Maid attended the funeral for Mikio and left her message of condolence that was full of respect to the deceased virtuoso. (Kami Band members and Band-Maid have been good friends for years)

Nice reaction. Babymetal showing off their mature kawaii metal. From the Legend M concert for Moa's 20th birthday. It was in her hometown I think that's Nagoya. They did a lot of great performances during those 2 shows. Including this one. Special moments, Moa playing what looks like one of Mikkio's guitars. May he RIP. He's a guitarist so he maybe jamming with Eddie Van Halen and Jimi Hendrix now. Also, it's very rare to find but Moa came to the stage at the start of the show by floating down from the upper seating area while using the Babymetal logo as a pair of wings. Why there's so little footage of that I will never know. I think the audience was caught by surprise by it. There is a still shot of it and if you can find the whole concert it might be in there. Moa has no fear of heights that's for sure. Later in an interview Moa said that during this performance Moa felt connected to Su as if they were holding hands. To be able to feel that kind of connection with a bandmate after years of playing together says a lot about the song and how much the performance meant to them. Moa said that for the 3rd album tour she focused a lot more on her dancing. It paid off here. She delivered a mature dance routine that I don't think her younger self could have done. While she dances around the guitar Moa is in command of the stage. Su's part seems to be to comment on it. But let's not pretend that Su's vocal isn't amazing as well. all part of them feeling that connection. While this performance feels like it is definitely about Mikkio. Su said when she sang Starlight she would often think of Yui. In some ways IMO the trilogy of Lights is about how they dealt with Yui leaving the group. Enjoy the journey through Babymetal galaxy of music.

This song is the second one in the trilogy of lights and this live video is from the 'Legend M' 2 Days in Nagoya city, Aichi prefcture, Japan in July 2019. It is Moa's hometown and celebrated her 20th birthday there. I guess this is the video from the first day, which was the world premiere, and on the second song from the end of the setlist. Moa played the acoustic guitar in the intro (there is some debate among fans as to whether she really did) and Su- performed it in the only two of them with Moa. That point is the meaning of this song, I guess. I thought this was an encore song in this show until a little while ago, but apparently that was not the case. I used to think that I could accept such a performance if it was an encore, but now I am not so hung up on that. We can know the crowds listen to it in silence and applaud after the performance ended. The giant annular solar eclipse is also a wonderful presentation. Anyway, I got the album 'Metal Galaxy' before I watch this live video, and it became instantly my favorite song among the trilogy. The third song, 'Arcadia', I got the live DVD of The Forum and was blown away by it. Well, it happens all the time on BM, ha. Only the first one, 'Starlight', I still can't get myself to accept somehow... Well, this also happens often for me on BM... correction the clip is from Day 2

Hi kitsune friend, this footage was took from Day 2 (July 7) which features Kano Fujihira as the avenger during whole concert. Day 1 (July 6) was with Riho Sayashi. As for the debate about MoaMetal playing the guitar, the general consensus is she did really played the guitar, she also said that on a interview, but for some reason the sound didn't come out from the speakers at live and "Delorean" when released. The real enigma is if she really played at APMA 2016 when performing with Rob Halford, KobaMetal said OTFGK 👀 Anyway is always good to see you around. 🦊🤘

@@jakemuller8626 Oh, sorry. I just checked the information on the inernet. The video work is from the second day, and it was the same of this song order, the second song from the end on the second day as well. Thanks for pointing that out! But I don't have this one, web members limited, either... And I also believe Moa can play the guitar and she played at that time. Well, I wonder if they should mourn the deceased by pretending that she played. I'm an eccentric guy, and I used to wonder if it would be in their best interest to feature the person who was truly deceased in their show, but now I'm quite accepting of it. I wrote this comment with a little bit of intent to generate discussion, but it was bad and at first, it needs basic accurate information to do it.😅

Best performance of Shine full stop. The chemistry and emotions are off the charts. You mentioned the stage but trust me, you have seen nothing yet. Babymetal had some very elaborate stage setups for their Japanese shows (Wait until you see a recording from one of the two Tokyo Dome shows) but that doesn’t takes away anything from their shows in smaller venues on a “normal” stage.

Good to see you back. Oh no! Why and who recommended this song without telling you about Trilogy Of Lights? Hope this don't get ruined your experience about the special meaning of this trilogy. This is an official set to represent the ongoingcycle of birth, death and rebirth, but fans took this set as a way to tribute Mikio Fujioka (he died in accident while stargazing) and YuiMetal withdrawal, both events in 2018. This set belongs to latest 3rd album "Metal Galaxy" and are the final 3 songs, the reason why I'm hoping this don't ruin your experience is because this set hits way different when you get to know the girls and the Kami Band after at least a couple of more songs from previous album and live performances. Since this live performance and song is after 2019 you won't see YuiMetal there, the third spot is filled with a backup dancer called _avenger_ There are three of them, and they are outstanding and dedicated professionals. Ok what can you do now to fix this? Leave this song or any of 3rd album and focus on 1st and 2nd at least a couple of songs. Go back to this set after that to refresh and experience those feelings now knowing the context. Or you can keep following the Trilogy going with the right order: "Starlight, Shine, Arkadia". That's the right order. See you next time and thanks anyway. Kitsune up 🦊🤘

@@didymalgia For these videos from the BABYMETAL Reactor Resource, you don't need both the overlay and the opacity adjustment. Either one will suffice, both is overkill. The overlay is tried and true method but I've seen many with success with the opacity, too. Whichever works best for you. And you don't need to do this during the recording of your reaction. You do it after your reaction and before you upload. That way, you get to watch the video as intended without any obstruction, and your reaction to it will be even better! Try this next for 'Starlight' and 'Arkadia' and you'll see what I mean!

@sleepingfordays2 жыл бұрын
@@BlackArr0w Well we know that pauses aren't a super consistenet deterrent against blocks anyway and that these particular videos are affected by video block only, so that's why we say to use the logo watermark because we know that actually works. That's the whole reason for the BABYMETAL Reactor Resource. PapaXan personally spent countless hours testing all the videos himself before putting on the spreadsheet. And using either the overlay or adjusting the opacity, let alone both, while he's watching/reacting to the video serves no purpose. He can do this afterwards and it will have the exact same effect and he'll also enjoy his own viewing much more. It's win-win for him. That's the more important part of my comment.
