Graduated in 77 the first time I heard this song was in 78 in the Army in Alaska I have been rocking Chiiwack since then I'm 65 and my neighbors knock on my wall and I tell them you are #1 🖕haha if it's to loud you're to old. Rock on !!

I'm pretty sure the songs key was correct, but I also think the guest female guitarist was actually singing the lead vocal part that Mr. Henderson would've normally sung. I suppose that was part of being a guest guitarist/performer with Mr. Henderson. That was a nice performance all the same. In its day, it was a really great, chill road-song for me when I was a kid.

I have watched this video dozens of times I love Bill and Taylor so much Taylors band is so cool there are not even words they nail this song and I had no idea he was 75 I have always said as a musician of 50 years that music keeps you young and thats the truth 🙂

Great reaction. My band opened for Chilliwack 10 years ago and I was blown away by Bill then. He hasn't lost a thing. Fantastic!

I'm not a big fan of live stuff, I prefer the perfection of the studio and Fly at Night is an all time classic but for what it was this was pretty damn good. But for those who might not have heard the original, you should.

Chilliwack was a Vancouver area based band at the time Bryan Adam’s , A Band called Trooper , Prism , and Heart even though from Seattle they spent a lot of time in Vancouver before they became famous also a Few others were all connected ,

Wow! Never would I have thought my favourite Chilliwack song would be seen here! Good on ya, whomever requested it! And great reaction and summary, Justin! Yes, it's a key lower but it doesn't lose a thing in performance. I never knew about this video and so glad I saw it today. I always think of Brian "Too Loud" MacLeod when I hear this song. He left us way too soon. Now I'm going to listen to the original recording! Thanks!!

I stumbled across this a couple years ago when KZbin suggested it based on other things I was listening to. I always loved Chilliwack with this song, in particular, being my favourite as I was first introduced to it by my brother-in-law. When I heard how good he sounded I immediately started digging to find out when it was recorded as I was curious what his age was at the time. Still can't believe that is a 75-year-old guy playing and sounding that good.

Well then go listen to the original and enjoy the higher octave's they could get to as 20 year olds, and then imagine the 15 minute long version in front of 20,000-30,000 people.

That was great! I haven't heard Chilliwack in a long time and yes they came from a town called Chilliwack, British Columbia. Bill sounds great here. I think with Rush's career lasting so long and all the touring they did took a toll on Geddy's voice. He did things through the years to help it such as quit smoking, changed his diet and took days off in between when touring but time caught up with him. Chilliwack had some good songs.

Great live version of that tune. I grew up listening to Chilliwack and have always loved the band. They were also the band behind "The Headpins" (Darby Mills on vocals). Brian (Too Loud) MacLeod was sadly taken from us way too soon.

"Life, Love, Music and Wine" may sound corny, but it makes sense in the context of the Taylor James Show. She will typically invite a local musical guest on her show. They will pick a couple of bottles of local British Columbia wines (yes, that's part of the show's format), pour a glass or two and chat for about 20 minutes. The show then wraps up with a musical performance, with Taylor James and her band backing up the invited artist. Here is another example with Tom Lavin of Powder Blues Band (teaser) : kzbin.info/www/bejne/ol7Kk41tqs2nr8U

At 75, it's a testament to keeping your guitar chops and vocals by playing and practicing. As Eddie Money said it Keep On Keeping On. (Quote re-used in Joe Dirt)

Thanks for reacting to this for me... Chilliwack had a few songs where Henderson would get up there in his range, "My Girl" being the most obvious one that comes to mind, and I doubt he would be able to perform that song faithfully anymore but this was a very good performance of this song. I think the thing with Geddy is that he could seamlessly transition to his falsetto and make the transition completely seamless. Now he seems to hit the limit of his chest voice and get stuck without transitioning to his head voice and then falsetto. The performance for me where this was the most obvious was their Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame induction performance where they did Spirit of Radio and Tom Sawyer back to back. They were in the middle of a tour when they accepted the honour and you could tell the tour was really having an impact on his voice. That was painful to watch/listen to because you could really hear him struggle to get even close to the original key.

The only reason Fly By Night never got higher then #7, is because we all bought the album, and FBN was not enough.

Back in the day there were certain albums that everybody in Canada seemed to have: Fleetwood Mac - Rumours, Heart - Dreamboat Annie, Saturday Night Fever and Chilliwack - Dreams Dreams Dreams which had gone platinum in Canada. It had classics like Fly at Night, California Girl and Baby Blue for starters

You expressed yourself very well. Geddy, when trying to sing the 70s and 80s songs is dealing with a "barrier". Hemispheres in particular (which apparently had the vocal requirement a semi-tone higher than expected when it came time to record the vocals) is particularly painful to listen to on some live attempts. But this video is about Bill and this great Chilliwack song. It was very enjoyable to watch.

Justin, I feel bad for Ged and hate criticizing him for his many years of great singing and abuse, but, he does sound like he is going through puberty again. Funny I was going to do another Canadian set with you and was waffling over Chilliwack thinking you wouldn't appreciate the Canadian 70's sound, oh well. Keep on rockin'

Great tune, as for Geddy there was no other option. Just one of his many tools was his voice. I'm glad he kept going.

Great reaction. Lots of really good Canadian music to explore. Thyppt!😜 to the haters. Anybody who thinks Geddy sounded as good at the end as in the beginning needs to get their ears checked. And I'm a Rush lover. 👍👍Keep up the good service you do to your channel.
