BTS. From a group from relatively small company, to the GOAT of K-Pop. And they’re so much more than just Kpop.
@roguechevelle
@roguechevelle Жыл бұрын
right? Honestly I have super complicated feelings about them being labeled K-pop especially when the K-pop industry basically rejected them from the beginning, grown ass men would literally shit talk them to their faces because they came from a poor company and were considered nobodies. TV hosts would treat them like garbage so they made their own show to not subject themselves to that abuse anymore. Now lots of those same people are trying to suck up to them or at least ride their coat tails to "fame". The guys are bigger people then I because they forgave a lot of those people probably for themselves to move on not dwell on it but I can't really forget most of that lol. So I find it really kinda ironic that they've become the face so to speak of K-pop when they did a lot of their own thing and wrote their own music with lots of creative freedom majority could only dream about having. Plus when you listen to their solo albums like Indigo, Jack in the Box, Face, D-Day, Layover....that's not anything like "kpop" and I can debate that with a lot of their group albums as well.

@@teenieweeniemini4297ngl kpop was actually famous and all of that, bts just has something in them that makes them the key to kpop. Like seriously bts DID do alot of things and made kpop what it is today, like other kpop idols also did alot but tbh bts did alot so I gotta be honest on that.

Namjoons verse in this song is actually a little deeper than it seems on the surface… Sampo Generation? Opo Generation? Sampo Generation (Hangul: 삼포세대; Hanja: 三抛世代; RR: samposedae, “Three giving-up generation”) is a neologism in South Korea referring to a generation that gives up courtship, marriage, and having kids. Many of the young generation in South Korea have given up those three things because of social pressures and economical problems such as increasing cost-of-living, tuition payments, and affordable housing scarcity. There is also the opo sedae, or “five giving-up generation”, which takes the same three and adds employment and home ownership. Then, since I like beef jerky, let me be Yookpo Generation Wordplay: Since I like 육포 (肉脯; beef jerky), let me be 6포 (六抛; six giving-up). Both 육포 and 6포 are pronounced yookpo. The media and adults say sell us out like stocks, saying that we are weak-minded Wordplay: 매도 can be (1) 매도 (賣渡): to sell, or (2) 매도 (罵倒): to denounce, to condemn. Why do they kill us before we even try? They’re enemy enemy enemy Why do you already hang your head? Take this energy energy energy Source ‘Dulsetbangtan’ website…

What you guys see is what happens to a group that was practicing 10 to 16 hours a day, not week, a day. When I first started to check out BTS after watching them on the AMA's, their professionalism and their synchronization with their ability to sing, rap and dance was what I had never seen before. Here, Americans were used to groups from the past like the Temptations, the Stylistics, Jackson 5, Osmonds, Boys II Men, NSYNC, etc. through the years, and seeing rappers who can't even sing OR dance. Music Videos were so generic and simplistic, usually had women, cars, money, drug related etc. Lyrics in some rappers were so repetitive, I remember in one award show where the rapper had to have a whole bunch of backup dancers, because he couldn't dance, or sing, and 95% of the song was the SAME chorus and words, OVER AND OVER AND OVER again! WTF is this guy making money on? What trash! Some of these rappers were one hit wonders with no talent. They became a dime a dozen. UNTIL, I started watching BTS Music Videos. The amount of work ethics they had to have gone through, the attention to detail, the costuming and making of Set Designs were steps ABOVE what Americans and other Western groups were putting out. THEY were the ones dancing, NOT BACKUP dancers like many American artists were using. They were the ones rapping, but even THEY were dancing! Even watching some of the Jabbawockeez, although good, were not even SINGING. BTS can do BOTH!! I didn't even LIKE Hip Hop or RAP, hated it, UNTIL BTS. Learning about BTS helped me get over my hatred for simplistic songs with elementary school lyrics that rhymed. I was tired of listening to rappers not even singing, just mouthing words, to a beat that was already popular and sang and written by someone else. I cannot stand listening to rap that rhymes lyrically with simplistic words like fear, steer, rear, career, Korea, Leer, like how Nikki Minaj did in her collaboration with BTS on their song IDOL. I hate that version. I will only listen to rap/hip hop, with BTS members J-hope, RM and Suga. BTS has become my go to songs, which I have a whole list of just their songs which can play nonstop shuffle play for hours on my BTS playlist. So enough of my ranting, but just relating to why BTS is MY favorite group as other groups from K-pop don't garner my attention as much, nor their songs, nor their dancing. Something about BTS songs have a haunting or memorable melody, meaningful words, catchy chorus, interesting and different and complex choreography, their fans and their love for each other, their fans that sets them apart from others. I saw the first coming of such a phenomenon was the Beatles, and BTS reminded me of that. When a group of guys made such an impact on the world from the BEATLES invasion, to the BTS invasion. These guys are Legit! Welcome to the world of BTS!

Again this is an earlier MV for them. It shows their work ethic and tells of their sacrifices to go after their dreams. Go back and read the lyrics you will see. Not only did they practice the routines until they were perfect, but they also practiced so even their eyes were looking in the right direction frame by frame. They practiced for things to go wrong, like shoes coming untied and dropping props. They believed in going all in for their dreams and were willing to give up immediate pleasures such as going out at night to achieve their dreams. No excuses mentality. Ten years in they are masters of their craft and still put in crazy work hours. When you think how little sleep they get when touring and promoting and then come back at night and still working on writing songs and producing! It is crazy. It's unfathomable to understand how busy they are. A colleague/friend of V's was interviewed once, and he commented that he reached out to ask V to meet for lunch and V responded that he was completely booked for the year. That's when it dawned on this person just how crazy BTS members' schedules really are with travel, promoting, touring, and appearances.

Thanks Alex, now every time I hear this song I’ll be thinking of a kazoo 😂😂😂😂 This is a great hype song, they still perform this song or well their PTD tour. The choreo on this one is dope, I’d have fallen on my ass with that footwork, their just incredible with their moves & yes they do sweat with how hard they work getting the moves perfect every single time, I don’t think you’ve ever watched a stage compilation video, fans with take 2 or 3 different concerts where outfits & hair color are different and make one seamless video that is how precise their moves are, my favorite one is Tae’s singularity stage mix, think it’s 3 different outfits & a hair color change, remember 1st time another reactor watched this video & it took him a min or so before he realized the outfits changed, his reaction was hilarious Thanks for the great laugh today Alex, I’m having so much fun taking this ride with you guys on your journey into BTS, happy you have Viv guiding you, having an expert Army member to guide you will help you a lot cuz there is A LOT of BTS content to go through ! Can’t wait till you start into 2019, hope you will react to their 2019 MMA award show, it’s long, but so worth it, it will blow you away, it puts all American award shows EVER to shame, hell All Asian award shows put ours to shame, only time I watch an American award show is if BTS is on, I even will wake up at 2 or 3am just to watch Asian award shows, so many of them too TMA,MMA,MAMA, GDA, etc……then smaller ones like Mnet, KBS, SBS,Music Bank plus several more. Not sure what future plans are after this series, but if you react to other content I hope you will react to Suga’s talk show Suchwita the one with JK & the Noraebang video that’s separate but still part of that Suchwita episode, all his shows have been good, but I enjoy a lot more Korean content then you will get into, like the K Drama’s & Variety Shows, also hope you will watch Tae’s or V’s new solo music content, totally opposite of what BTS music has been, it’s a lot more chill blues, jazzy type vibe. Ok see ya next reaction💜💜💜

When they sing "I'm kinda dope" ARMY jokes they are singing "Namjoon Shut Up!" - which they would never say because they love their leader. But that makes it funny. they are all different occupations, but Tae - being Tae - is dressed in full cosplay. Tae is dressed as Detective Conan from same named manga/anime. Where main character is P.I. who get somehow transferred into child's body (that's why he is dressed in shorts).

They really were working their asses off and it shows. Dope is a follow-up or promoted b-side on the same album as I Need U which was the title track. RM's rap gets a little complicated so I highly recommend googling "Dooset Lyrics" I'd put a link but youtube hates me and deletes any comment I drop with a link unless it's a youtube link. But he saying some real ish because boomers in Korea criticize the millennials or youth in general saying they are lazy and if they work harder they will get a house etc but the housing situation and economy is completely different from their generation especially. They talk about this in their song Baepsae (Baepsae is a small bird but also can be translated as "try-hards" referring to the millennials or younger generations. In English the bird is called a crow tit but I like the korean word Baepsae better lol). I'm really glad you guys have an army guide to help you because I just looked at Wikipedia and they leave a hell of a lot out like many of the solo song MV's from the members which are really good, they don't even have Persona, Shadow, & Ego for Map of the Soul series which are all amazing. The Next MV I believe is "Epilogue: Young Forever" which is storyline though it's the imagery that's connected to the storyline not so much the subject matter of the song itself so keep that in mind.

I played alto sax for 10+ years. Easy is not the word I would use. But thanks for watching!! -E

You like the sax? You will lose it to the sax solo on V’s solo performance of 3 songs from his first solo album performed on Tiny Desk Concert. I know you haven’t done individual members of BTS reactions but hope you can make this an exception since it involves the saxophone a lot.

@@TAHBofficial well I only use the term "easy" to suggest that the alto sax is pitched higher. I, in no way, meant to suggest that playing the saxophone of any type was easy as in simple. Sorry about that.
