This video is a slap on the faces of all those toxic k-pop Stans who believe BTS didn't pave the way. BTS have achieved global recognition and thru them a lot of people got into k-pop. If the 2nd gen itself agrees with the fact that BTS paved the way, i don't think k-pop Stans have any legit reasons to disagree. The stats say it all!

About the point bts opened the door and close it- The amount of impact/archievment bts have is huge and this can be frustrating when others can't break and take it. But they fails to realise that, the defination of "paving the way" never states you have to break/take it or over take them, which is also by almost replicating/copying them in some ways(I would suggest you watching the next bts video by boracity magazine to understand this. Also about boybands and award show one too) Kpop being recognised worldwide, getting its own category outside explains my point. Yes there might be some archievment that can still be seen as paving the way later for some other things (But rn Kpop been recognised worldwide proves that overall for kpop bts paved the way and now it can't be redone by anyone). Also the amount of awards/ archiements bts gets are extraordinary. Something bts should be praised about but nobody is ready for that conversation. People come and say bts should give others a chance as they paved the way but the moment their fav. earn some archievment on their own name(either broke previously bts ome or some new one becoz kpop being popular) suddenly it's their own archievment and not becoz bts paved the way.(I always think do they want the success to be handed to them by bts themselves?) This conversation has been going on for years to the point I got understood I can't change other people opinion if they believe otherwise(and these are mostly those less then 10% part of any fandom that are just loud) So what least i can do is focus on positivity and my own perspective, i will never back off saying I believe bts paved the way but won't force anyone to accept it now.

When we say BTS paved the way, k-pop fans think that we are saying that to undermine their favorite groups or solo artists success and basically saying that "BTS made their careers" but that's not true it all. BTS paved the way means that BTS opened ways and more opportunities for k-pop acts to grow and be known in the global industry. I've been into k-pop for years, I've been an army since 2016 but I know k-pop way before and let me tell you that after BTS got that award at the BBMAs in 2017 and started to get more and more global recognition, a LOT of things changed in k-pop. Maybe it's harder for new k-pop fans to recognize the "BTS paved the way" because they know the current k-pop and since the beginning have watched a lot of K-pop idols in the charts and promoting in USA and other countries, but that was not common it all. I think it's ok if Kpoppies don't want to mention BTS, because they don't have to but what it is wrong is they and other labels and their groups discredit BTS' hard work and being in denial. I respect all the idols that have admitted that fact, say thank you to Bangtan for what they did and keep going with their careers. BTS paved the way are facts, not something that Army just invented. the "x paved their own way" it's just sad because we all know the truth... Anyways, I'm so proud of Bangtan. 💜

The mediaplay bit shown in this video just barely touches upon the issue. It is a whole topic of its own if you ask me. Why big 3 stays so powerful to this day is because they benefit the media. Media absolutely hated bts because they grew without following the standardised kpop norms. And these norms came about a lot to benefit the media. So without that the media gains nothing from bts. For example, idols did variety shows that their companies would organise with a broadcasting company. But bts having their own variety show means they needed no media help which means media companies weren't even in the picture. Thus they neither get credit from bts's label cause they were self sufficient (so all credit goes to themselves and broadcasting station) nor does covering bts's success give them any money cause bts grew without korean media so media feels like if they cover bts, they are doing charity work but covering big 3 groups will give them a lot of money. That's why there is a lot of controversy around some very popular groups from big 3 allegedly buying media play and awards thanks to their rich label and writing achievements of theirs in almost a youtube click bait manner in articles.

Another group can follow the success of BTS and be in their shadow because they are the biggest group to come out of Kpop and become the only real global stars. However that doesn't mean those in the shade aren't able to grow and get bigger under the shade of BTS if they continue to work on their art rather than bemoan their situation. You only reach BTS level when you work and learn from the greats, have the same drive and love of what you do when you are true to your art. Taking it one step at a time rather than expect to reach BTS's global fame in an instance. Think about how long it took BTS it wasn't an overnight success anything worth doing take's time.

The Japanese idol system was taken for the USA system so in fact kpop came from the US music industry entirely at the beginning. You are entirely correct with your statement that BTS did it different from the rest of the kpop industry which enabled them to break into the world market not just Asia but the world.

It's not surprising as the big 3 have not only 'connections' (money talks as does Cronism)within media out lets. They own platforms that promote Kpop eg kpop shows and they also own part of the Social media plateforms. They write their own piece's for media outlets so they can do lots and lots of media hype and downplay others. They have their own journalist. You have to understand these kpop companies are also media companies. They are entertainment agencies.

Counting nd all neither global awards shows we just limited in our selves...but in usa their huge market for all of that like they literally buy every album demand physical album radio play but nothing like that happen in India but we coz of huge population we are helpful in streaming like Indian army is first at streaming on KZbin this year....this is the reason maybe groups or other artists don't include India in world tours i hope BTS will come in India in 2025 comeback

I am a Big Time VIP!! A 2006 Kpop stan.. And with all the facts and more than whatever Boracity said... I could anytime anyday give full credit to BTS for paving the way. Because Even as a VIP.. I had it harder to get their contents... Or Even have their tour in a good venue that was sold out. BTS changed that... Becos they globalized Kpop while paving the way for Kpop industry.. We are able to get lot of things way easier than ever before. I mean even Look at Bigbang's Comeback this year. I could never imagine Bigbang or any groups in general on Top 10 of a Billboard Charts.. But We finally did it easily.. Without any difficulties.. Even without promoting much... We could cos we carry the title of Kpop which only became mainstream Becos of BTS! Now I can even buy my favorite albums even Bigbang's in my nearest Local album shop.

I don't know where you got those figures because BTS put more into the South Korean economy than any other Kpop group/artist in fact they put more in than the Kpop Industry. The South Korean government were worried about BTS entering the military as it's affecting the countries pension fund. They've relaxed a bit when they released BTS members were putting out Solo Work on their way into the military. BigBang have not paved the way they didn't make it easier for Kpop to be known worldwide That goes to BTS they are the one's who have brought to the entire planet. Also if BTS stop making music Kpop worldwide will go back to being a Niche market again slightly bigger but still a Niche market.
