Dan is in Brazil, Victor is in Sweden, and the Petra members (credited with being founders of Christian rock) are probably in the US. But they still managed to put a great song out!

When Dan Vasc and the others recorded that song, this has been the happiest moment in his carrier so far. You can see it in his face. Only because of Dan hearing John Schlitt singing, Dan decided to become a singer. Many thanks to John Schlitt, who sings with Dan!

Petra very much is a Christian band, and I was just 19 when this song was new. It was their song Jekyll And Hyde that made Dan want to be a singer. Seeing his joy at being able to swing with people he looked up to as musicians is absolutely awesome! Yes, this song was done in 2020, November to be exact. I remember in September of that year, I heard a short little teaser of this on one of Dan's social media pages, and I remember thinking that it would be cool if he did a full version of it. Lo, a mere two months later, this video came out. Keep the great Dan reactions coming; I'm behind on all of them, but I'll catch up sooner or later.🤘🤘🤘

They were a Christian Rock band, I had a tape of theirs in 1989. Wish I still had it. We're all getting older. Dan loved this group, that's how he got started. Dan looks so happy singing with them. ❤😂😊😊

Petra is a Christian band that has been going since the 70s. They changed members in the 80s (it's when John Schlitt joined as lead singer), and that is when I was introduced to them. The band broke up during the 2000s for a while, but then the ORIGINAL members reformed as "Petra Classic". They're all still singing so far as I know, and if not for Petra during the 90s I'd have ended up taking my own life. That Dan Vasc got to sing with them, I'm so happy for him. It was listening to them that made him want to be a singer too. A lot of Petra's stuff (from the 70s all the way through) is inspirational. You had it right, dear lady. It's about something way better and far more holy than "sex, drugs, and rock and roll". Well... sex and drugs. There's lots of rock and roll... because "God gave rock and roll to you!" (another of their songs, but it might have been a cover they did... need to check that one!)

Petra is currently doing a 50th anniversary reunion tour. Dan credits John Schlitt with being his inspiration for becoming a singer. I believe John is 72 now and still rocking his Christian band. Dan is living a dream performing with him. This is a really old and still relevant song! Amen!

Um, a song from 1989 is NOT "really old!" I was 19 when it was current and new, and I am far from old now! Kids these days!😉😉😉 Think they're gonna be young forever. LOL!😂😂😂

@@josiahrobinson6135 I agree. Let's see, in 1989 I turned 40. My (2nd) husband turned 36, Our children were 21, 19, 16, 15, 13, and 4. Petra and Stryper were HUGE at our house, with my oldest boy (the 19-year-old) being TOTALLY into metal--especially Stryper. Just a few months back, he took a trip to France, where he got to sit in on two Metallica concerts. The four-year-old from that 1989 turned 20 in 2009, and married her hubby (who was 25 by then, and TOTALLY into metal--especially Petra). This video was posted the day after my 72nd birthday, two years ago. By that time, my husband and I had jointly purchased our small hobby farm, and moved in with Judi and Harry, who had all eight of their children--aged 17, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, and 1. Petra is STILL a favorite band in this household--loved by all 12 of us (even though Eliel--now 3--really has no idea who they are.) Everyone also has fallen in love with Dan since we discovered him back in April, when "Amazing Grace" was posted. So...yeah...we have quite a rich metal heritage in this family, since back before 1989--not that it was ever my FAVORITE genre. Once I heard Carman Licciardello, in 1985, perform "Champion," (Christian Rock) I got hooked on his music to the max! On the other hand, when I was leading worship at our church during those years, my favorite songs were by Keith Green, after I first heard him rock out with "So You Wanna Go Back to Egypt!" Some of our whole family favorites were, "You're Love Broke Through," "You Put This Love in My Heart," and "There is a Redeemer." These days, Harry STILL loves Petra over any other bands. Judi now leads worship, and she will generally choose songs by Maverick City and Elevation Worship. Me? I love a ton of different types of music, but I generally could listen (and sing along with) Dan Vasc, 24 hours/a day. 😀

I didn't even look at the name. LOL!😂 Age is relative and mind over matter - if you don't mind, it doesn't matter. My maternal grandmother was still ziplining in her late 70s, and like a friend says, "every day above ground is a good day." "Hanging out" virtually with all these kids that Dan hangs out with keeps me young; they're all like adopted cousins or nieces and nephews.🤘🤘🤘

Those are some seriously good Christian artists! I listened to them a lot! Throw in Michael W. Smith, Steve Camp, Newsboys (Dan does an excellent cover of Joy; it's a super early one, so early that he doesn't even appear on camera in it, but there's no mistaking that voice! It's on his all covers list. I think I'll make it my final song of the night.)

The word Petra means Rock. They have a song “I am on the Rock”, meaning their foundation is God. I still have some Petra cassette tapes from when I was a teen. Great Christian rock band. My favourite album was Beyond Belief.

You know what? I'm a child of the 80s, and sometimes I used to feel a little old, compared to kids today. But then I started thinking about how powerful our generation was. Probably all the technology and the good stuff kids have now were invented or developed in the 80s. It was certainly a privileged and strong generation. That's why kids nowadays are digging stuff from those times. I teach teenagers too, and it's incredible the thirst they have about the past and the way we faced things back then.
