Kat was viewed in Minnesota as the second option behind Ant-Man. He was their franchise player for over five years after being drafted. In New York, he will be at best the third option with OG Anunoby on the floor. That will allow him to focus more on defense, passing and rebounding. Compared to Hartenstein or Mitch Robinson, that's a huge upgrade for the NY Knicks. To cover for the lost of Donte Divicenzo in the second unit, they will need to trade away Mitch Robinson by the next February deadline.

I think Precious Achiuwa and KAT will compliment each other very well. Most of the defensive presence you're losing with Kat as a center, Precious can more than shore up, and whatever offensive presence might be sacrificed by Precious at the 4 (although he's been working on his shot) is more than offset by Kat. I think that's a really good duo right there!

Knicks should set lineups based on matchups. Big Man Lineup: Brunson, Bridges, OG, KAT, Mitch Small Lineup: Brunson, Deuce, Bridges, OG, KAT Rebounding Lineup: Brunson, Bridges, Hart, OG, KAT The 5th person in the starting lineup should be a rotation of Mitch, Deuce, and Hart depending on the who the opposing team is.

Thibs does play drop but he’s always had the ball defender be aggressively up and through….I don’t think it’s a necessarily a bad change here. It is pretty simple, we need rim protection not Josh Hart in the starting lineup because our starting PG is not good on ball defender. Precious is best to start alongside Kat. Kat can play center at times when Deuce is in as our PG.

when they got OG Anunoby, randal was less of a fit. The knicks got better spacing the floor and defensively with this trade. I am not a knicks fan, but I see them with KAT and Bridges added as a serious threat for the title if the coach can get them on the same page. I like them over the celtics and 76ers in the east.

I see Kat playing the 4 and the 5 situationally with Precious and Sims playing the 5. Thibs plays 9. Starters will be: Brunson, Bridges (2), OG (3), Kat (4), Precious (5). Bench: Hart (4) Deuce 1 and 2, Sims/Precious/Kat (5). The 9th man will be who earns the time. Got to protect Kat from fouls. Sims and Precious will play till Mitch gets back. TLDR: I fw Donte heavy but we traded a 10PPG player, who didn’t want to come off the bench, and a disgruntled all star choker who was about to walk for nothing. In return we got the best shooting Big Man in the league (arguably NBA history). And this ignores other aspects of KAT’s game. As much as I hate losing Donte, he was a 10 PPG STARTER for us last season on ridiculously high volume (8.7 3PA per game is CRAZY). He’s not getting that same volume this year with Bridges on our roster, even if we had a lineup where he starts next to Bridges. He knew that and was disgruntled. Also the trade only happened because the T-Wolves wanted Divo. I have a Randle Jersey in my closet but let’s not look through rose tinted shades. Randle has been disgruntled with the Knicks for a while, even leaving Leon Rose’s agency last season. He gets into arguments on the court with his teammates and Thibs, throws a tantrum when he has a bad game, and only had about a month where he looked like a cohesive fit with Brunson (January-February 2024). If choking is your argument, we KNOW Randle isn’t good in the post season. Mitch is injury prone (yes ik this time it was Embiid, but still). He’s out until at least december and even then who knows if he’ll be healthy enough to play the rest of the season for us. We needed a 5 and got the best possible fit for Brunson, on a pre-CBA contract locked in for 4 years. We would’ve had to pay Jules that same money or more, with more penalties (I think. We all confused about these new rules lol)

The spacing this year will show us exactly how much better you can be for a team just because of skill set and playstyle. Our offense will be top 5, hopefully our defense too.

People talk about Julius Randle is one of the best Knicks players. I disagree. We gotta look Camilla Anthony, Patrick E at least those players when it came to playoffs they performed Camillo Anthony.
