When it comes to Ohio State, during the Michigan game, Howard threw the ball 33 and in the Tennessee game they threw it 29 times. I think 33 attempts is the second most in a game this season. So I am not so sure they ran it more just to be tough. I think they used run plays to beat the stack that has won the game, but they couldn't because of poor execution and Michigan's decent defemsive line.
