most of the POLITICIANS in INDIA come from students who took part in COLLEGE ELECTIONS in their younger days. every POLITICAL parties have their STUDENT WING as well. so YES, it's quite a big deal in INDIA the college elections.

When crime rises to uncontrollable levels and the police and govt cannot regulate it any longer, police resort to extra judicial killings called encounters. It happened in mumbai in 1990's when the city was ravaged by crime and again in a big way in UP where Mirzapur is located in this series , UP.

In India the college and University elections are the first step to you political career. thats why its so important. and even the political parties are involved in College and University elections, they provide millions of rupees o the cnadidates and the parties. I was a part of a university election.

exactly, why is there sad music? because despite incredible one shot, they don't know what Munna character is - that's one of the reasons why this series doesn't work for me. they don't know how they want to show Munna and his friends, you will know what I am talking about in the second season. they want Munnan to be everything. I cannot put my finger on what exactly, but the character is not written with certainty

You acting like a character can't have nuance. Munna is the hero of his own story. To him the love of his life was snatched by someone he dislikes, his father doesn't trust him to run Mirzapur. Do your really think he shouldn't have felt sad for one of the few people truly on his side from his perspective?

It's called a character arc. The reason it doesn't work for you is because like many, you set a preconceived notion of how a spoiled brat is to be portrayed.

@@ranjitbahadur0 Again, just because someone is a monster doesn't mean he can't have pockets of inter-dependent, all be it, narcissistic bonds. Yes the reliability is dangerously flexible but it's not tarnished by any sort of bigotry. As @AL-jg4pr said.. he is the hero of his own story.

@@ranjitbahadur0 p.s. He doesn't really do the kidnapping with rape in his mind. It was an impulse..an outburst that was building up since the 1st episode. He thought Guddu was dating Sweety as a vendetta against him so decided to do something that wud hurt him the most. Kidnap his sister. What he said later was also just to hurt Guddu.
