@Tom HI think you got that opposite lol. Geoff is the natural bass. He sings G1 in chest. He also has the most agility in the first octave.

@Tom HHe can say what he wants. He's probably being modest. As a bass baritone he sounds as good as a natural bass. He could sing an entire song in the first octave. Can't say the same for Tim. That's the agility and comfort he has down there.

In Flowers on the Wall, Tim actually went sub-harmonic. That's something kinda new for Tim, I've not seen him do that before. He does insanely low growls and frys, but he's never gone sub-harmonic.

On the last chorus, he drops lower than the first two, then comes back up on the repeat. There are comments on their video arguing over whether that’s a growl or subharmonic. I’m not sure how to tell the difference. I just know it’s really, REALLY low.

Other commenters have told you about the subtitles which really make the video even better. Most of the singers were either former members of VoicePlay or very memorable members of other groups who performed on Season 4 of the Sing Off (Home Free, Ten, Vocal Rush, The Filharmonic and VoicePlay). The subtitles when Tim and Geoff were singing are hilarious. I think that’s my favorite thing. And I loved Austin’s part in Home Free’s video. Great reaction as always. Ginger is a beautiful kitty 😻

"I thought this was going to be a sad song." Yeah. I know this is over a year old, but I didn't see any comments going in this direction, so I figured I'd say something. If this was already explained, I apologize. "Flowers on the Wall" is a perfect example of what is known as Lyrical Dissonance. Lyrical Dissonance is when the tone of the music does not match the tone of the lyrics. For example, you can have a very happy go-lucky song, but the music sounds like it would be at home at a funeral. The song "Sex and Candy" is a good example; a song about a guy rejoicing about finding love, but set to a slow, downbeat tune. And so is this song. Its a happy-sounding song about a man slowly going crazy because of loneliness and heartbreak. But as you did, if you don't pay close attention to the lyrics, you might come away thinking this is a happy song. But its way, way not a happy song.

I knew you’d love both, and you would probably have some happy tears. 😉 I have really good headphones, too and heard Tim’s low “grumble” during the chorus of “Flowers...”. I still can’t get enough of it! Love Adam’s beatboxing in little nuances he puts in the song, too! Austin brings in his strong vocals, and his constant dancing during the song, too! My fav thing about the “Just Sing” video are Tim and Geoff’s bass-off and the side glances they give each other (in fun, of course)! Both videos were so much fun and uplifting!!

hahah... yeah, it sounds happy, but if you really focus and listen to the "fun" lyrics of "Flowers on the Wall" it's actually quite the sad song. As I hear it, this is a guy sitting alone in his home, staring at the walls, sad and lonely because his girl has left him. He even imagines that she is still thinking about him. The chorus even explains how busy and fun he claims to be, when in reality he is "counting flowers on the wall." I think Home Free did an absolutely incredible job reproducing the feel of the original sarcasm and denial of the original song. Home Free even reproduced the feel of each singer with red in their eyes, slightly tired, etc. All part of the feel of the song's intent.
