If you want to know what they sound like live,they released a live Sea Shanty Medley that was filmed at the Christmas show in Mankato,Minnesota, the beirthplace if Home Free. It was my granddaughter's Christmas present. We were inn the front row. There are the most humble, wonderful,down to earth men you could ever meet. My granddaughter had a panic attack and sat on the floor. Tim came over right away,and asked her if I put her in time out. Then Austin came over and when he found out it was a panic attack, he talked to her about his struggle with panic attacks. This was our 3rd UVIP show last year and we went to Veteran's Fest and bowled with Tim and Austin. So we had gotten to know them and they remembered us. You will love the concert. It's a party. So much fun!

I love the new elements Adam added. He's always upping his beat box game. They crushed this cover. It's their song now, they own it. wow. And that video. omg. I bust out laughing every time I watch it (and I watch it a lot!) even tho' I know what's coming. There's no shame in these guys' game. It they can entertain their fans, they don't care how silly they look. No egos either. They don't worry about just showing their pretty faces. Anything for a laugh. They are spreading fun and joy with reckless abandon! Great reaction.

Some of what you hear in concert depends on the venue and the sounds system. I was told the Indiana venue was especially good. The voices sound more like voices, but you brain converts it to instruments pretty quick. I have one upload on my channel.

Wasn’t that great? Our handsome lads! 😂😂😂 WHO GAVE THE RUPPSTER ENERGY DRINKS?? WE’VE TALKED ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS…. Seriously, he was insanely awesome. And I had to break out my fan…I was not ready for the long, blond locks flowing in the breeze. He looked like the only one who enjoyed getting blasted by the leaf blower. I’m not sure what that says about him, but if he was a dog, he’d be a spastic golden retriever with his head out the car window.

I love their newest rendition of the Tom Cochrane original. Of course the singing & harmonies are terrific & Adam has once again outdone himself on beatboxing. I'm of the generation where long hair was common for men & I love Adam's & Austin's hair loose. Chance hanging onto his cap is hilarious. Their mutual weird sense of humor and lack of ego make for great, fun videos!

Jimmy (vidoegrapher) had a little too much fun with the leafblower! LOL All I could think of was that at least their weren't any bugs! But I can tell you that in concert they sound better! You still hear what your brain says is instruments but you can see them do what they do. And you will leave with a HUGE smile on your face!

Live is the same sound just that you feel it too! Their parties are so much fun! But we sat first round w center lasted time and my granddaughter said she felt the bass in her chest all the way back to the hotel lol

I have been to one of their concerts and yes they sound just as good and they are so funny that it is more like a party. I though I was the only one who though Chance looks like Popeye.

Love this fun version! Home Free has now done this song 3 times. They are making a 10 year anniversary album of all the songs they did on the "Sing Off" that they won in 2013. This was the 2nd song they did. The guys all sounded great as usual. Love Tim's low bass growl. And Adam Rupp once again stole the show with all his cool sounds. He really has an unreal range.

I just looked thru your playlist to see if you had reacted to the Sea Shanty Live video. They made a professional recording in Minnesota in a very large venue. A very good way to experience how they sound live. The audience was so pumped up. It’s fabulous!! Glad you’re going to get to see their show live soon. Apparently Chance had a Super bad migraine during that shoot. What a trouper!!

Went to their on 10/14/23 and I can vouch for the fact that they sound as good if not better and I always forget that they don’t have instruments other than themselves. Sea Shanty Medley sounds great live!

You're exactly right--Chance looked like Popeye!!! I just laughed and laughed when I saw this. I love it when Home Free gets silly (and, of course, the music never suffers because of their antics). I'll be interested in what you have to say about Home Free in concert. I haven't seen them live--would love to. They came to my city a couple of years ago, but I was unable to go when they were here (seriously bummed).

Yes, they sound like that in concert. The harmonies are a little harder to hear I think because of the volume but also could be the venue as others have said. Still an amazing experience.

Girlfriend, just wait till you see them on stage! It's just so much fun watching them stand up there in front of you and hearing all that great sound coming out of them. Tim always says it's not a concert it's a party, and he's right. And wait till you meet other home fries. They are some of the nicest people you are ever going to meet in your whole life. There are no strangers at a Home Free show. It's more like a big family reunion. And I don't know that it's my imagination, but I think they get better with age. They seem to have peaked. Individually I mean, not just as a group. Each singer's voice seems to have mellowed out and matured.

I know life has to come first and you need to take care of yourself when you are under the weather. I hope you feel much better. Tim makes a good bass guitar sound and Chance can sound like an electric guitar too you can see it in the video Can't Stop The Feeling, but Austin I believe is doing the high-pitched guitar sound here, but I could be wrong. They are all so talented and even though I've seen their videos and been going to their concerts since 2016 and should know how they sound and who's doing what part, I still get thrown for a loop sometimes as to whose doing the sound. I mean Adam with that low Yeeah, you would think it's Tim, but you can clearly see it's Adam here. A lot of the low tones I thought Tim was doing in certain songs is actually Adam, and I'm befuddled on how because he has such a tenor voice, He's definitely an artist at his craft of beatboxing.

It's Tim making the bass guitar 🎸 sounds. I saw HF live for the first time last month in Birmingham, England. They sounded to me to be slightly different than their videos, which is understandable since Darren Rust is not doing all of his magic production stuff. That is not to say they sounded better or worse, just slightly different. I still got the feeling of full instrumentation with their performance. I think the thing that I noticed a lot more was that the audience having a great time and singing along added an unexpected dimension to their show. It made it OUR show as much as Home Free's. It was a wonderful concert and I will see them again.

Their videographer Jimmy was holding a leaf blower in front of them to get the effect! 🤣 I saw Home Free front row (2022). Adam Rupp vocal range is more mind blowing in person. Tim savage facial expressions during storytime are 🤣. I wish they sang more favorite original songs instead of covers. They finally added Austin’s Hers Ain’t Mine to the lineup, made my year. 😂

I think it would be good for them to do more originals, but perhaps they are concerned that a large portion of the audience doesn't know those songs - they do get complaints that they haven't done "favorites", which I think might be why they have concocted so many medleys of 'favorites'. I know when S&L did the birthday brunch Tim mentioned that there might be people there who actually only came for brunch, not because of the show and he was sort of apologizing for opening with 3 originals rather than a cover that everyone might know. But i think their originals deserve to be heard by everyone!!

@@nancyholter5646I love it when it's down and loose but when he cuts it REAL short like it was in Land of the Free, he looks older and much more serious. It makes him look like he should be dressed in a suit and carrying a briefcase lol One reactor for this video said Rob needs to grow his hair out longer like the others but I just can't imagine it. Rob's hair and beard suit him perfectly and as much as I like his long hair Austin's perfect hair and beard style was in Man of Constant Sorrow. Just my opinion. Love your reactions.

You are right about Rob - he isn't a 'long-haired, hippie freak' type of personality - at least that I can tell from what we see on screen. While I can imagine Adam with a suit and briefcase, I can't begin to imagine Rob with long hair - or without the beard.
